The Estate @1340 has so many surprises you'll have to come see for yourself!
Welcome to Estate @1340 — a private Nova Scotia escape designed for gathering, celebrating, and making memories.
Thoughtfully renovated over the past few years, our Downtown and Uptown suites blend luxury, fun, and authentic East Coast charm. Whether you’re planning a family getaway, foodie retreat, wedding weekend, golf trip, girls’ escape, or corporate retreat, Estate @1340 was built for connection and experience.
Food lovers can entertain in our professional prep kitchen while filming content or hosting unforgettable dinners. The rest of the gang can settle into a game of pool, karaoke, or our legendary “Extreme Bocce,” where the natural contours of the property become part of the competition.
Outside, you’ll find babbling brooks, open green space, cold plunges, and room for barefoot babies to roam freely.
Perfectly located in the center of Nova Scotia, the property offers easy access to some of the province’s best experiences: • 25 minutes to the Bay of Fundy • 40 minutes to Atlantic beaches • hidden waterfalls, lakes, wineries, breweries, and cideries all nearby
Golfers will feel especially spoiled. From championship courses in Halifax and the Annapolis Valley to some of Nova Scotia’s best-kept hidden gems, several outstanding golf experiences sit within a short 30-minute drive of the property.
From May through October, local farmers’ markets are in full swing, offering some of the best locally grown produce, seafood, baked goods, meats, cheeses, flowers, and artisan products Canada has to offer. Wandering the markets with a coffee in hand is practically an East Coast ritual.
Spend the day wine tasting through the Annapolis Valley at Lightfoot & Wolfville, Grand Pré, or Luckett Vineyards. Explore the South Shore, grab fresh lobster off the docks, or cycle scenic country roads before returning home for surf & turf on the grill and music into the evening.
No matter the season, Nova Scotia offers something special — fresh country or ocean air, incredible food, warm people, and unforgettable scenery. Estate @1340 reflects all of it: authentic, welcoming, relaxed, and full of personality.
We can’t wait to welcome you.

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer Robinson
We’re Dave and Jen, and we fell in love with this property because of the peace, privacy, and natural beauty that surround it. Tucked into nature in Central Nova Scotia, it feels like a true escape — quiet, relaxing, and wonderfully removed from the pace of everyday life — yet you’re still just a 30 minute drive from everything you’d want to experience on the mainland. We love that balance of feeling immersed in nature while still being close to local beaches, restaurants, shops, and activities. This has become a special place for us to slow down, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends, and we chose to share it because we want others to experience that same feeling. Our hope is that every guest feels welcomed, comfortable, and leaves with lasting memories of their time here.
Why they chose this property
We love that our neighborhood gives you the feeling of truly getting away from it all. Mornings are peaceful, the surroundings are beautiful, and there’s a slower pace here that helps you unwind. At the same time, you’re close enough to enjoy all the local attractions and experiences that make Central Nova Scotia such a great place to visit.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property truly unique is its deep connection to the history of Central Nova Scotia. The estate sits on what was once an old Dutch settlement dating back to 1847, and much of that history can still be felt throughout the property today. The main house still rests on its original stone foundation, while the guest rental building was once the property’s original carriage house.
The small cottage you see on the property is actually the oldest structure here. It was originally home to the young Dutch couple who first settled the land while they built the main residence. Later, the little house became part of the working farm and served as grain storage for the pig and chicken barn that once stretched toward the carriage house.
The property sits at the heart of what locals know as “Ashdale” — a beautiful valley nestled among rolling hills. The name comes from the ash trees that line the stream running through the base of the dale. In both spring and fall, if you stand at the highest point of the property and look down toward the residences, you can clearly see the ash trees tracing the landscape below. It’s a setting unlike anywhere else in Nova Scotia, with a rare combination of natural beauty, peaceful surroundings, and rich local history.
