The size of three hotel rooms this 80 square metre one bedroom apartment is unusually spacious. There's a sofa bed in the lounge that quickly converts to a comfortable queen-size bed, so it accommodates four guests. We've just completed a complete refurbishment with brand new furniture. It's looking stylish, fresh and beautiful. There's lovely views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains. A seven minute walk takes you to the lakeshore and the fast ferry to town.

Why they chose this property

Grove View is in Kelvin Heights, a prestigious residential area of Queenstown. It is sought after because it faces north towards the sun and lake views. In contrast most Airbnb accommodation is on the other side of the lake in shade for most of the year.

Although that area is nearer to town it can be very cold even in summer. The approaches to town are on steep streets so there are very few areas that are easily walkable into town, so you might as well take your rental car from sunny Kelvin Heights - or even better hop on the wonderful fast ferry that goes into town from the Bayview Wharf just 7 minutes walk from Grove View.

In the neighbourhood is the Queenstown Golf Club. Jardine Park is within a hundred metres with children's playground, flying fox, disc golf and tennis club - all free to use.

The are wonderful lake-side walkways and cycleways just a few minutes walk away.

What makes this property unique

Grove View is a spacious apartment beneath Shimmerlake, a luxurious villa. It has it own private entrance. The properties are well separated. Self check-in is available using a door code provided one month before your arrival. Note that there are several steps down from the street to the entrance porch, so guests need to be comfortable carrying their luggage down the steps. It is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
