"Howqua Hideaway" is a nostalgic cedarwood cabin with picturesque views and cathedral ceilings throughout. Perfect for young families looking to make new memories or couples wanting to romanticize life again. Everything in the cabin is designed and thought out with intention so your stay flows with ease.
Sit back on the front decking and listen to the Howqua River flow while the birds flit around you. Alternatively, a spectacular view from under our huge pine tree at the rear is sure to leave you in awe. Or perhaps laying back next to the fire pit under a blanket of stars while toasting marshmallows is just what the soul needs.
Bedrooms - The Queen room boasts high-quality natural fibre bedding including a feather duvet and flax linen sheets with a hygienic woolen underlay. The headboard features a built-in light which is the perfect reading spot for bookworms, plus a lovely view of the valley from the bed. - The kids' room showcases a comforting storybook theme with two single beds, a television with kids' DVDs, and books. Also designed to comfortably cater for 2 adults.
Lounge - Cuddle up in the living area with a Smart TV, DVD player, and sound system. Seating includes a classic leather Chesterfield style lounge (best suited for 2 adults), two bean bags with built-in back support and a woolen rug underfoot.
Dining - Consists of 4 handmade "fairytale" style chairs, crafted from 130-year-old wood sourced from old shearing sheds. You will also find the Coonara fireplace, ready to be lit. No need to go fossicking for kindling here! On the rear decking, there is firewood stocked for your stay. Alternatively, the split system keeps the cabin warm in winter and cool in summer.
Kitchen - All your cooking needs covered—an electric oven and stovetop, retro-style fridge, French press coffee filter, microwave, and basic pantry goods for your use. Our geese curtains are sure to keep you company while you're preparing meals.
Bathroom - Has a retro edge to it with a step-in square shower tub, a wooden vanity, and cork flooring. High-quality, fluffy cotton towels are on offer alongside face washers and basic bathroom amenities.
Phone and Internet - Wi-Fi is provided but its reliability fluctuates on busy long weekends when the valley fills with campers. We encourage you to embrace the chance to log off and dive into the cabin's DVD library. Phone reception can be unpredictable depending on your carrier.
Wildlife: - Expect blue wrens, King parrots, kangaroos, and our resident blue-tongue lizard in the rear garden. You may see some evidence of how close the roos get to the cabin at night! Dingoes have been heard howling in the distance, and you may even be lucky enough to hear the "honking" of wild deer.
