This two-story clapboard house was once a boarding house for railroad workers. It still has the charm of yesteryear with a wooden staircase, grainy wood flooring, and fireplaces. It’s been given a modern touch by its current owner–an artist & graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design.
There are many cool paintings & creative touches (the standout yellow front door among them) that we’ve taken to calling this the “Artist’s House.” You won’t find a more picturesque corner of Savannah to stay.
The home is a top/down duplex, and this listing covers the
rooms in the upper-level apartment. The larger bedroom has a queen-sized bed, while the other bedroom holds 1 double bed.
There is one full bathroom.
The small kitchen has all the appliances you’ll need during your visit.There is a large living room with smart TV and seating for eight. The walls are decorated with the owner’s artworks. Through the windows, you’ll see the streets of Savannah’s historic district beckoning.
The walled-in backyard has a shady patio with a grill and outdoor seating. This area is shared with guests living in the top story.
Forsyth Park, with its fountain and oaks draped with Spanish moss, lies just blocks away, and historic downtown Savannah is fully accessible with the DOT shuttles running every 10 minutes.
