Everything was great! House was clean and as pictured. Location was great, you felt secluded but were minutes from everything. Communication with host was great. They decorated the house for Christmas for us which was so nice! Spent 5 nights there with no issues. Driveway was a bit steep but once you drove up it once, it was easy peasy lol. Would definitely rent again! Our first time in Tennessee and are definitely planning on going back!!
Cozy, well-appointed cabin that is close enough to the fun stuff, but private enough to feel like a retreat! Our family had a great time here; we were excited to get to the park and hike, but just couldn’t give up the sweet morning cabin time. Nice porches, great game room, nice full kitchen (wish we’d had time to try the fire pit!) - had everything we needed for a wonderful trip. Hosts responded very quickly, were knowledgeble about the area, and were a pleasure to communicate with!

Quite and relaxing
Nice and quite could use some sprucing up removal of cobwebs on ceiling and bath rooms floors and base boards could use a good scrubbing. We did enjoy the cabin. Relaxed and watched movies in the evening
Great time at sunset ridge! The property is as depicted and owners are first class. Great communication, We stayed during the winter storm, they checked on us before and after and had the driveway salted big deal for some folks from Florida. Our extended family stayed at another location without that personal touch. Thanks for the stay. Look forward to staying again.

To all our guests, we hope you will cherish our Sunset Ridge Cabin as we do! If something happens that would distract you in any way from completely enjoying the cabin, please let us know immediately! We want to be disturbed to address whatever happens (and in this case to prevent further damage from rain). It sounds like something must have happened to damage the roof and now that we know, it will be fixed. Had we known, we would have offered to find you another accommodation immediately and refund the remaining part of your stay, so that you can have a choice to continue to enjoy the Smokies at Sunset Ridge Cabin or elsewhere while things are remedied. We agree that Sunset Ridge Cabin is a nice cabin - and so much more! We hope you will consider returning to fully enjoy Sunset Ridge and have a 5-star experience!
We stayed with 4 adults and one teen as well as 3 small dogs. The home was great. Very clean and it was conveniently located to Pigeon Forge. The owners love their home and really care about the condition. If something was broken there was a note left by the owners explaining the issue and how to bypass the problem as well as the status of parts order. The house is on a hill so the stairs and driveway are steep but manageable. We will stay again if it is available.

The cabin was great. We didnt spend alot of time there. But it had everything you could ask for in a rental. I should have asked questions about the lay of the land so to speak. The driveway and parking were a bit difficult for my friend and I. The stairs leading up to the cabin were a challenge for a disabled veteran and a 72 year old. I would probably not rent this cabin again based on my physical condition. Parking was tight for 2 SUVs. Otherwise very nice.
We had such a great time. We enjoyed our week in the Mountains for our 20th wedding anniversary. The only thing I would say is the stairs going up into the cabin are very steep 😆 🤣 made us feel our age (50's). But other then that all was great. We enjoyed the local restaurants and we even got some snow flurries. Get time and we will definitely come back. Thanks again to Laurel for helping us find the cabin 😆 🤣....... we left a vanilla bean candle and a Florida Gator coaster for them to remember us by GO GATORS !!!!! YES we noticed the Tennessee football stuff around the cabin 😆 🤣
This property is very relaxing. After a long day of hustle and bustle in surrounding towns, it was nice to come back to this home. There was enough space for the whole family and our fur babies. Steward and Laura were great host. They answer all questions and helped with the booking process from the very start. Even meet Steward upon arrival delivering new sheets! Would definitely rent again if we decide to return. Thank you for a nice time away!
There was a mix up with cabin wi-fi password. We didn’t receive code on getting into cabin. After driving back down to base of where we could get on wi-fi, we contacted owners. They got back with us promptly to help take care of the problems. Even ordered us a pizza for our troubles. Cabin was very nice. Lots to do if you just wanted to stay in; games, pool table, ping, pong. Had a good time & was very relaxing.
The place was great. It was only me and a friend. But very spacious and had everything we needed. An outlet didn’t work in the master bath, but I made due. We wanted a private location. Even though it’s fairly close to neighbors, there’s enough trees to make it very private. The only negative is that we were on large touring bikes. We did not even attempt to drive up the road or driveway. It’s extremely steep for a bike and the tiny road has plenty of gravel on it. However, if we had been in a car, it would have been about a 98 out of 100. I don’t blame them for having a place on the side of a mountain!
My family and I had a great time in the Smokies. We enjoyed sunset ridge cabin. My kids had plenty to do. They played pool and had fun with the board games and my oldest loved the smart TVs. My husband and I enjoyed the porch swing, weather was perfect not too hot not cold and the fog over the mountain was breathtaking. Will be coming back to stay. Thank you Laura and Stewart for a wonderful stay. And recommendation on restaurants for trout.
Laura and Stewart were very communicative with all necessary information for the stay. The cabin was nestled in the woods for privacy and enjoyment. It was clean and comfortable- recommend staying here and look forward to staying here again.

We absolutely loved our stay! Very spacious cabin and closed to town.
Owners were fantastic! We never had any trouble with anything.
Thank you so much for everything!
The owners are extremely nice and the cabin was convenient to everything. Our older sons enjoyed the game room and we love that we can bring our 4 legged fur babies.

Thank you for your rating - we have some ideas for some additional features that we are putting in place with the hope that when you return we can receive a five-star rating.
My family and I enjoyed the stay, but discovered that the clothes dryer did not work. Four days of using the same bath towels for four adults and three children was a bit disappointing. Otherwise, everything was fine with the stay.

Hi Robert,
We're so glad you came and enjoyed our Sunset Ridge Cabin! I wish you had called us, as we would have brought you more towels. No one had reported that the dryer wasn't working, so sorry for this. We do hope you'll come again soon!
Laura & Stewart
The cabin is located perfectly to Dollywood and Gatlinburg. The family room was well stocked with games for children. The Kitchen had everything needed to cook and eat. There are a couple things that need to be cleaned or repaired. There is something wrong with the water system. It smelled really bad, like rotten eggs. We couldn't use it to drink or take bathes. The mini blinds had holes and didn't work. The view is wonderful but the windows needed to be cleaned. The pull out couch sheets where dirty and unusable. The deck needed to be cleaned and sprayed for ants. The ladder and building materials should be removed from the laundry room. The master bath is a hidden gem behind the bedroom door. The bed pillows are over used and as flat as a pancake. The stairs up to the cabin are very steep. Coming down to the driveway is very tricky because of the top off the last step. You really have to hold on to the rail to keep from falling. Please don't take all of this as a bad review, my family really enjoyed our time at this cabin.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay, but sad to hear about these items. I wish you had contacted us during your stay so we could have corrected these for you. The well water has been tested and is safe but the filtration system had failed - this is remedied We did have to use some back-up cleaners this time, and we addressed these issues with them. This certainly would not have happened if our regular cleaners had done it---they've been with us for over 12 years, and they would have checked the sleeper sofa and put up a new blind. We have lots of new pillows, so I'm surprised about that. I'll have new ones brought out. Otherwise, we are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for coming and we hope you will come again soon! This is our beloved mountain cabin, so we are diligent to keep it in good repair and we have excellent and meticulous cleaners. I'm sorry it wasn't up to par for your stay, as we strive for perfection! :)
As a retired couple, we booked the cabin for four weeks for a lot of mountain hiking. We encountered some unexpected health issues having to cut back our planned hiking. So! We stayed many more hours in the cabin than expected.
The owners are wonderful! Only had one issue and that was a problem with the DVD player. Stewart gave me instructions over the phone but when this didn't fix the problem, Laura brought a new player and installed it at our convenience. The whole area lost electrical power on a Sunday morning but a quick text to Laura and she reported the outage and let us know that help was on the way. Power was back on in a few hours. In the meantime we popped into Pigeon Forge for breakfast.
The game room is so cute! We were not gaming folks so we didn't use it but it was a pleasant addition to the caing it and we enjoyed looking at it!
The parking was a little tricky like lots of mountain drives/parking but after a few times we got the hang of it.
There were more steps into the cabin than we were expecting. The photos showed about five but there were several more.
The jacuzzi in the master bedroom was very clean, the jets worked great, and there was enough hot water!
The washer/dryer was very good. With a long stay we did several loads of laundry.
The linens were very nice and there was a great supply of towels and wash cloths. The master bed was very comfortable.
The cabin is so cute with tons of decorating touches.
We spent several hours reading and rocking on the porch while enjoying the privacy.
There are so many positive features that it's hard to describe them all! If you choose this cabin, you can count on Stewart and Laura being excellent, caring owners!

Very dated, not clean to my standards and I’ve stayed at several different cabins and resorts in the area that were clean and updated....TOO rustic for my taste so we cut our trip short!

Dear John and Denise,
We are sad to read your very mean and inaccurate review of our family vacation cabin. A single star is an obvious insult and not an accurate nor helpful rating (our average rating is near 5 stars).
We did not hear from you during or after your stay and question if your review is from fear of damage you left behind??? We had to make repairs after your stay.
Sunset Ridge is a modern, up-to-date cabin. Furnishings are new and relatively new and the cabin has all the comforts of home. It’s our vacation home, which we love dearly and take pride in. We also take pride in the fact that our cabin is a wonderful and joyful experience for our guests. We are NOT a management company. This is our mountain home. It’s furnished with expensive, mountain-style décor and furniture - log frame bed, tables, large leather sofas, new bedding and mattresses, etc... We did have temporary cleaners (as our long-term cleaners were attending personal matters), so if the cleaning was not up to par, it would have been nice to know. We will certainly question using this cleaning service in the future. If you had contacted us, we would have been more than happy to have cleaners come back and make things right for you, order you pizza, whatever we could have done! We go out of our way to make sure our guests have an amazing time and that everything is perfect for them! We’re sad we were not given the opportunity to do so in this (most rare) case.
We hope you find happiness in your future travels together.
Sincerely,
Stewart and Laura Graham

great family gathering spot
The house was warm and inviting, plenty of open space, we were able to cook Blue Apron in the kitchen and gather around the fireplace. It was comfortable and we would go again. The steps were a bit much for one of the grandmas, but once she was in the house it was all good!

Thank you, Ruth! We loved having you stay and that you made special memories at Sunset Ridge! :) Please do come again!! Happy 2019 to you and yours! I'll review our photos and be sure there's a picture of the stairs from the driveway up to the front door. It's all one level once inside, but I'll make sure it represents the stairs going up to the cabin.... :)
Thanks again!

About the host
Hosted by Laura and Stewart Graham
We are fortunate to be able to share five (5) very special places that offer five (5) different Smoky Mountain experiences and which we personally enjoy in Gatlinburg, near Dollywood, and just off the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg Pigeon River Spur. We are the owners and not a management company - these are our homes. We are also blessed to know wonderful people for over 10 years who help us with cleaning, maintenance, repairs and help us solve any challenges we may encounter, which can occur by occasionally sharing our treasured cabins with our guests.
Sunset Ridge is one of these magical places. It sits on a small ridge behind Gatlinburg without steep roads and it derives its name from the beautiful sunsets from the covered front porch (and sunrises from game room and deck). It is surrounded by a large white oak, red oak, and pine tree forest. From the porch you can also hear the occasional train whistles from Dollywood. . Sunset Ridge is yours alone during your stay. We will make arrangements for your stay and you will not see nor hear from us unless it is your desire. When you do contact us, we do our very best to be accessible and responsive from the time you book with us throughout your stay with ideas and recommendations to enjoy what Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park have to offer and to address any needs and concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time prior to or during your stay.
We hope you choose to arrange a stay at Sunset Ridge - and please let us know if you encounter anything that may distract you from fully enjoying your stay - we want to provide an opportunity for you to enjoy Sunset Ridge as we do.
Why they chose this property
Please know that Sunset Ridge is NOT in nor near the City of Sevierville (the county seat and home town of Dolly Parton) - it is outside of the city limits of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in the Pigeon Forge planning region - all cabins outside of city limits in Sevier County have a postal address of Sevierville.
Sunset Ridge is located behind Dollywood down Dollywood Lane and around a few short corners. It is convenient to Pigeon Forge, the Gatlinburg Artists Colony and the GSMNP Pigeon River Parkway spur (US441/US321) towards downtown Gatlinburg and Sugarlands Visitors Center and beyond. .
Sunset Ridge was Laura's original second home and we chose Sunset Ridge for its location near Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Sunset Ridge is a spacious, modern cedar cabin with a tongue-and-grove interior, a large game room, jacuzzi, large covered porch, large wrap-around deck, a secluded campfire fire pit, and beautiful woods.
What makes this property unique
We hope you will also appreciate this beautiful cabin as we do when we regularly stay at Sunset Ridge.
Enjoy its convenient location to the attractions in Pigeon Forge (including Dollywood,) and Gatlinburg as well as the natural and historical sites in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Also enjoy returning to Sunset Ridge's seclusion, peacefulness and spaciousness. Share our joy rocking on the covered front porch, relaxing on the deck or sitting by the fire pit enjoying the trees, the flowers and the wildlife outside. Inside, enjoy the jacuzzi and the jetted tub or sit by the fireplace or in the game room enjoying the views outside and the internal décor.
