UNOBSTRUCTED VIEWS FROM EVERY ROOM! Look no further! This is a special home with more than 2900 sq ft of indoor SINGLE-STORY living on a 3 acre mountainside site with stunning, PRIVATE AND UNOBSTRUCTED views overlooking the Animas Valley. Immerse yourself in oversized rooms as well as a large and exceptionally well appointed kitchen that would impress any chef! (Please note: indoor fireplaces NOT available during warm summet months)

Whistle Run is a 3-BDRM, 3-BA, 2900 sq ft, open living concept, single story mountain-ranch-cabin style home that will sleep 6 very comfortably in oversized bedrooms. Living area includes a leather sofa, 2 swivel rocker leather recliners, 2 swivel rocker club chairs, and seating for 8-10 people in the dining and kitchen area. 2 King Bed en-suites bedrooms: 1 King MASTER Ensuite and 1 King GUEST Ensuite, as well a third bedroom with 2 twin beds (which can be combined to convert to a King option upon request), with it's own bathroom just across the hall. Included in the living area is a 75" Samsung smart TV with a combo Blu Ray / DVD player. Each bedroom also has its own Samsung smart TV . Spectrum cable is available through the app on the TV's. You can also stream from your own favorite apps such as Netflix or Prime. High-speed WIFI Internet present throughout the home.

Two separate and dedicated desk areas (antique roll-top desk in the Master bedroom is also equipped with a printer) for your business needs. The master suite also boasts a luxurious two person soaking bathtub, as well as a steam room/shower for two, and a large walk-in closet with dresser.

Of course we also have central heat and air conditioning.

The chef's kitchen is appointed with most anything you'll need to prepare gourmet meals.
Experience a fabulous vacation in a truly spectacular location in this lavishly appointed home.

Our home also borders a wonderfully entertaining piece of living history; the Durango and Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad where it's entertainingly fun to sit out on the deck or around one of the 2 fire-pits to watch and wave to the train passengers and conductor as it goes chugging by.

Guests will have access to the large driveway for plenty of parking as well as the entire 'backyard'. The only area guests will not have access to is the owner's garage and basement. The driveway is large enough to accommodate a towable trailer of you would like to bring your 'big toys', bicycles, kayaks etc.

Laundry room also available for your use.

Whistle Run is a winner

Amazing Views and Good Location

Great location near to Durango and Purgatory. Host is friendly and easy to get in touch with. She provides some hiking recommendations. We were here for hiking mainly but also enjoyed spending time on the deck looking out at the Animas valley. Trains passing by on a regular basis is a huge bonus.

Amazing stay in Durango!

Whistle run is an absolutely beautiful property managed by amazing hosts. The home is very clean and well supplied with everything you need and is in a perfect location for lots of activities. . The views are fantastic and the Durango to Silverton train running through the back is a real highlight. We feel very fortunate to have booked Whistle Run for our family vacation in Durango.

Station Yourself at Whistle Run

Whistle Run was the perfect property for our one month stay. Close enough to Durango in a forested private area. The front entry welcomes with potted flowers, the interior is homey, warm and very clean. Incredible views from the kitchen and decks. The 3 levels of backyard sitting areas are beautiful. The kitchen has every tool to prepare great meals. We reported an issue with the grill and the next morning a new grill was delivered. The owners are VERY responsive, welcoming and eager to accommodate guests! We highly recommend Whistle Run!

Best vacation ever

The house is absolutely beautiful and sparklingly clean. I loved the location, secluded but only 15 minutes from town. The Durango - Silverton Train passed by 6 times a day. My grandkids always ran outside to wave at the passengers. You could hardly hear the train from inside the house, but I found myself listening for it so I wouldn’t miss running out to wave. The kitchen is a cook’s dream. Every room had a view. My favorite part was sitting on the deck early each morning watching the birds and four magnificent bucks grazing in the yard. I did not want to leave. Charlotte and Marvin were great hosts. Very easy to reach via text. I had no problems with anything in the house.
