About this property

Vermont Log Cabin in Northeast Kingdom! VAST, Snowmobiling, Burke Mountain

Enjoy a well appointed 2 bedroom 2 bath log cabin in remote mountain location just 25 minutes from St. Johnsbury. Have a beverage while watching the dancing flames of the wood burning stove. Wake up in a king size bed and look out to the ducks or geese or otters in the pond. Listen to the cascading water of the babbling brook from the screened in back porch. Go on a wildlife photo safari on the trails of the 23+acres of our boreal forest which is the backyard.

Winter activities abound: snowmobile out the driveway to the VAST trail, snowshoe on our trails adjacent to a State Forest, local skiing at world class Burke Mountain, ice fishing at local glacier lakes throughout the Northeast Kingdom.

Summers are awesome in the NEK! The nearby lakes and ponds are great destinations for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. Fish for brook and rainbow trout in the pristine streams, brooks, and rivers that twist through the wild forests of the kingdom. Mountain bikers will love the accessibility to Kingdom Trails and the scenic rural byways. Hiking is the best with local destinations including Mount Pisgah and Mount Hors overlooking Lake Willoughby and the White Mountains are just an hour away.

Our log cabin has everything you need for a relaxed vacation including 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with showers and one bathtub, wireless internet, propane wall heaters, washer/dryer, tv, cellular coverage, well appointed kitchen with all the essentials. It’s warm and cozy, even on the coldest winter nights. Just bring some food to cook and your favorite beverage. Enjoy a serene remote relaxing location with all of the amenities and accessibility to great local VT attractions and markets.

Your security matters. Property has 2 exterior security cameras that monitor the garage entrance/ driveway and the basement entrance at the rear of the cabin. We turn off notifications and alerts when guests are staying. In addition, we delete all recorded events during the customer stay in an effort to protect our customer’s privacy. The cameras simply protect the cabin when it is not in use since it is such a remote area. They do not look into any interior spaces.

Great Place--We'd come again
Great place, enjoyed the stay. It is a little remote, but that was cool, we liked the privacy very much. The ride into the property was a little strange since it was after sunset and the dirt road goes quite a way in. Snowed while we were there. The cabin is at a higher elevation. The road was plowed pretty early in the morning though and (I think the owner) came by with his truck to plow the driveway out. (If it was not the owner, he was awesome, because he even brushed off the deck). As said we would absolutely come back again, if we are welcome. Great stay.

Perfect setting inside and out
The log cabin is inviting and completely modern with a rustic warmth. We had everything we needed to cook, do laundry and enjoy the view while listening to the babbling brook. The downstairs bed was very comfortable. Host was very easy to communicate with and readily answered questions. The fall foliage was beautiful and we enjoyed walking in the woods. We would stay again.

My wife and I are avid travelers and understand how challenging it can be to choose a vacation destination property. We really wanted to provide a warm, comfortable, clean home for our guests with all of the amenities to help you relax and unwind. Take a look at our reviews and you'll see how well we are doing - we don't take our stellar rating for granted and are always striving to continually improve our guest experience. We look forward to hearing from you!

Why they chose this property

If you are traveling to Vermont, you really should see what people consider the "Real Vermont" - that being the Northeast Kingdom or NEK to locals. The northeast area of Northern VT is absolutely beautiful - from glacial lakes to soaring mountains to pristine rivers - it's the real deal. Our beautiful log cabin is too - nestled in the mountains on 23 private acres with accessibility to all NEK attractions including Burke Mountain, Victory State Forest, Kingdom Bike Trails, Victory Trails, and an abundance of outdoor activities including snowmobiling, skiing, fishing, hiking, and paddling. If you're looking for peace and quiet and no sign of neighbors - this is the place. We spent many days and evenings here listening to the quiet.
