Every year I come to Chattanooga at the end of October to participate in the Chattajack 32 mile Tennessee River race from Ross Landing to Hale's Bar Dam. This year I was looking for someplace to stay that was homey, quiet and with local character. I found exactly what I was looking for the the Fort Wood Flat.It is an older home with a very cozy feel. Large eat in kitchen, spacious living room, super master bedroom with very comfortable bed & black-out drapes. Nice 2nd bedroom right off master separated by pocket doors. Large bathroom with tub/shower, double vanity and washer/dryer. Also, you can pull your vehicle up near back door for easy loading/unloading. Neighborhood is historic.I would definitely stay here again!
This rental is in a beautiful neighborhood with old houses and tree lined streets. One bedroom was very nice. The second bedroom was a bit makeshift. And the kitchen was OK. The overhead lights were stark lighting. It was a good value. And could be made even nicer with a few extra touches.
Loved our stay in this beautiful old house. The beds were super comfy and the place was perfectly quiet and in a great location for seeing all the tourist sites in Chattanooga. Also close to some amazing restaurants! We had one small issue arise during our stay and the host responded quickly and everything was fixed by the time we were home from dinner.
Great location. Make sure you bring your own toilet paper; she only provides a “starter roll”. You have to go around the back of the house via a back of the house alley/road. She does not tell you this. That’s fine but it would have been nice if she had told me this ahead of time.
A very special historic neighborhood perfect for enjoying Chattanooga. Clean and comfy. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Walking distance to UT Chatt. Great communication with property hosts.

Cleanest place ever!
Historic home renovated for 2 apartments. Cleanest place ever! Full size kitchen well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. Washer dryer and the bedrooms were large!
The cleanest, most equipped short term rental we have ever rented. Quiet neighborhood, excellent parking space. Kudos to whomever does the cleaning. Plenty of towels and washcloths. Would definitely stay again! Very comfortable beds. The only thing we missed having was ice trays. Beautiful property and house.
We stayed in Chattanooga on our way to upstate NY in this charming neighborhood. The downstairs apartment exceeded our expectations, it was a mix of old turn of the century with a bright and airy feel to it. Honestly all the tourist attractions were booked since it was 4th of July weekend so we enjoyed cooking and resting up for the long drive in the lovely surroundings.
Thank you again!
They have made the most of their space and made it quite accommodating. The space is clean and comfortable. It is close to everything downtown. Most of the restaurants we wanted to go to were within 5-7 minutes (drive). The toilet had a problem during the stay and they had a repair person out to fix it within 2 hours.
The beds were comfortable and so was the furniture.
I would highly recommend.
Comfortable House...Excellent Location to UTC and City Center
The house was well equipped ...newer remodel and very comfortable. One thing to be aware of...if booking with two couples you do share a bath room and there is not a convenient way to access the bath room at night from one bedroom.
The few things that I would suggest is for the owner to put in night lights...the house is dark at night, and have a better access to local TV channels.
We loved the location, and could not believe how close everything was (city center, restaurants , river walk, Lookout Mtn.)
Will book again in the future.
Established neighborhood. Close to downtown and attractions. Older home but very comfortable.

Our stay was good. Convenient location to tour UTC and access to downtown and other attractions around the city. Parking is shared in back of unit and a bit awkward to find/navigate. The place was pretty clean and cutely decorated. Mildew in shower, some minor disrepair, bathroom door sticks and shower curtain isn’t long enough so water pools easily on floor and when the lights go on I. Shared bathroom it lights up the bedroom because there is glass above the shower into the room. Nothing so major it would effect stay. We would book again.
Absolutely beautiful! Clean & comfortable! I’m a sucker for hardwood floors and this place has them. The bed is extremely comfortable, I drifted off as soon as my head hit the pillow. A for having free parking in this neighborhood! I was able to safely leave my car, walk to my destination and not have to worry about any tickets. Super convenient. Thank you for allowing me refuge in your beautiful home. I will definitely stay again next time I’m in Chattanooga.
This property and location was fine. The service and communication were poor. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. We only had one clean towel for 4 guests. There was a pile of dirty towels on the bathroom floor which WE washed. The upstairs tenants took the parking spaces for the evenings meaning we had to risk receiving a ticket for parking on the street. The upstairs tenants also smoked marijuana indoors which carried down to our unit. We will need to wash all our clothes. We thoroughly cleaned the porch swing and chairs so we could sit out front. The kitchen was also full of cobwebs. We will not stay here again.
Very clean and updated rental. Beds were comfy and neighborhood was quiet. Upstairs tenant was quiet too. One minor detail, had to punch the code to unlock the door several times before it worked. Not a big deal though. Highly recommend.
Directions to property, spot on. Easy to check in.There was COFFEE!!!!!!!! Clean, essentials were there. Water pressure to be desired, but not terrible
Clean for the most part, only issue is the tenants upstairs not noisy but because the floors are wood, and they wear work boots their footsteps were loud in the morning. Overall good close to all attractions and restaurants.
