Mable's Place ~ A Historic "Old" Florida Cottage

“Mable’s Place” is a historic beach cottage within walking distance of the Gulf of Mexico.
This quaint 2 bedroom cottage has a quiet backyard surrounded by native Palm trees and equipped with a grill & Patio seating. This is a clean and comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bath home that sleeps 4. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the guest bedroom has two twins. There is also a lanai (sunroom) with TV & DVD player. There is a flat screen TV equipped with Roku capabilities in the main Family Room. “Mable’s Place” is located on the north end of the island, in the tranquil Longbeach Village; one block from the Sarasota bay, with Whitney Beach being a block in the opposite direction.

It is not uncommon to view dolphin and manatee if you watch carefully.

Monthly rentals run from November thru March.

Great and Relaxing

What a great home. From the first step inside, you can appreciate the attention to detail the owners instilled in the remodel. Everything was new and quite tasteful. The exposed pine ceiling was beautiful. A great location with a five minute walk to the bay and restaurants and a ten minute walk to gulf. The tropical landscape was lush.

Why they chose this property

Our family first visited Longboat Key in 2006. It quickly became our favorite vacation spot and our family fell in love with the quiet solitude, tropical paradise and abundance of native wildlife.
Over the years we have dreamed of owning our own place on Longboat, particularly one of the historic cottages that the Longbeach Village is known for, but we never thought that dream would become a reality. However, we were pleasantly surprised when that hope was realized in the Spring of 2020. Our cottage came to us by way of a Palm Tree and a cheesecake, but that is a long, if enduring story, for another time.

Our cottage is affectionately named "Mable's Place", which means 'lovable' or 'easy to love'. Another long, but enduring story for another time.
We hope that your travels will bring you to our quiet, oasis on the North end of Longboat Key and we are so thankful to be able to share her with you.
