The "MoMa am Dom" is over 300 years old half-timbered house, which was in 2013 painstakingly restored and now combines historic ambiance with modern comforts.
It is equipped with a mix of old and modern furniture and contemporary art. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is available: LCD TV, WiFi, small library, a well equipped kitchen, a large dining table. Nice dishes, glasses and cutlery are abundant.

Active this is an ideal starting point for trips to Bonn, Cologne, Koblenz, the Ahr and the Siebengebirge. At the same time you can unwind in the rural environment and the pleasant atmosphere of the house and the small secluded-proved.

Lovely Property in Charming Unkel

Well furnished, roomy, with attractive artwork throughout the home and convenient to walk into Unkel for restaurants, and sightseeing. Very comfortable as a headquarters for a family and friends reunion. The large kitchen is a great gathering place! You do need a car to get around, and to get to the grocery stores which are not within walking distance. There is a train in Unkel, so public transport to the airport is possible. For visitors from abroad, note that the property is set up for German guests, who normally bring their own linens, so towels and bedding are charged separately per person. Beds are comfortable, back yard is lovely, bikes are there for use ( we didn’t use them) and the loft with twin beds is charming, but not recommended for older guests since the steps are steep! Note if you are paying via a USA credit card, the owner’s bank passes on conversion charges. Not a big issue, just something to be aware of. The host is responsive to queries, and although they were on vacation, and not available to show us around, the designated “ welcomer” Brigitte was great. We would stay here again if we were to return to the Rhineland. The Barnes

Das Haus ist ein wunderschönes altes Fachwerkhaus mit kleinem Garten hinten dran, wo es für alle Gäste ausreichend Sitzmöglichkeiten gibt. Leider hat uns ein Magen-Darm-Infekt ereilt, weshalb wir unseren Aufenthalt am Sonntag früh abbrechen mussten. Auch die Umgebung ist geprägt von schönen alten Fachwerkhäusern.

Wir hatten das Haus für das Wochenende gebucht. Alles was man benötigt ist fussläufig zu erreichen. Unkel ist eine sehr romantische Stadt.Das Haus bietet allen Komfort den wir benötigt haben.

Ein ganz tolles Haus und eine sehr schöne Umgebung

Wir sind von dem Haus begeistert. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut. Die Bäder sind sehr schön gestaltet. In der Küche gibt es alles, was man zum kochen benötigt. Die kleine Außenterrasse ist über die Küche zu erreichen und es besteht die Möglichkeit den Grill anzufeuern und im Sommer kann man hier ein paar schöne Stunden verbringen. Wir hatten das Haus für 2 Tage gemietet und waren nur morgens zum Frühstück und spät abends vor Ort. Die Küche haben wir somit zum Frühstück genutzt. Zum Abendessen haben wir die Restaurants in der näheren Umgebung genutzt. Direkt neben dem Haus ist ein schöner Gasthof, dieser hat aber nur von Mittwoch bis Sonntag geöffnet und da wir von Montag bis Mittwoch da waren, konnten wir den Gasthof leider nicht besuchen. Wir empfehlen das Haus auf jeden Fall weiter und werden wieder kommen.

Das Beste von Neu und Alt

Das Haus ist wunderschön, genau wie auf den Bildern zu sehen. Eine tolle Mischung aus historischem Bauwerk mit modernem Komfort. Während unseres Aufenthaltes hatte es jeden Tag über 30 Grad und es war eine Wohltat, dass sich das alte massive Gemäuer viel weniger aufheizt als neuzeitlichere Gebäude. Besonders genossen haben wir auch den Garten, in dem man herrlich die Abende verbringen und den Sternenhimmel genießen kann. Kleiner Wermutstropfen war die Straßenlaterne, die die ganze Nacht in die vorderen Schlafzimmer scheint, welche man nicht richtig verdunkeln kann mit den vorhandenen Rollos.

Rundherum gemütlich und schön

Im Haus Moma am Dom(damit ist nicht der Kölner Dom gemeint, sondern die Kapelle gegenüber) haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Kombination von Altem und Neuem - alles sehr gepflegt und geschmackvoll-, der Garten, der bei dem tollen Wetter zum Drin-Sitzen einlud, die schöne Stadt Unkel mit der tollen Lage am Rhein, die Erreichbarkeit von interessanten Museen: das alles hat zu unserem Wohlbefinden beigetragen. Außergewöhnlich schön restauriertes Fachwerkhaus

Das alte Fachwerkhaus ist sehr liebevoll renoviert und wir haben uns von der ersteren Minute an absolut wohl gefühlt!
