A former 1890s inn, this newly renovated farm house sits on 13 partially wooded acres. Located on a quiet country road, the house is perfect for relaxing, working, and playing. There is a back porch with a view of a huge lawn. A trail through the woods will bring you to our adjacent sustainable beeyard. Minimalist interior features hardwood floors, custom wall finishes and light earthy tones. The house offers a fully equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining spaces, and light and spacious bedrooms. A wood burning stove will provide a cozy atmosphere in the bright and airy living room. High-speed internet and RokuTV will allow you to feel connected to the rest of the world. Close to the Berkshires, the area is perfect for hiking, biking, and swimming -- and skiing in the winter. Situated between trendy Hudson, NY and quaint Great Barrington, MA, all within a 30 min drive, the area offers activities for everyone. The immediate surroundings offer a wealth of wildlife to enjoy: depending on the season you will see deer, rabbits, wild turkeys and, of course, all sorts of beautiful birds. We would like to add a note that stairs leading to the second floor are pretty steep since it’s an old house structure. Please be caution when climbing.

Charming farmhouse with a master bedroom suite. Bed was very comfy and cozy. My husband and I went for a quick getaway with our dog. Great location! Close to skiing, hiking and some quaint shops. Host was very responsive and made some great dining recommendations. Very nice and peaceful neighborhood.
We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed how comfortable the space was and the quiet neighborhood. The pups loved the big yard!
Our family had a wonderful time staying at this home. We played many games at the table and watched the fire burn in the stove. It was a cozy place with reading areas and the capability to get off screen time for the kids.
This house was exactly what we needed for 6 adults to get out of the city for a weekend. The house is on a large field with plenty of space to run around and a small trail through the woods in the back. The house is very minimalist and modern; well decorated and very clean!

Thanks Joe. It was a pleasure to host you and your group. We hope you will back again.
House was like advertised and we had a nice stay. The area was more rural than we expected and the weather was not very cooperative but we were able to use the house a base to visit the area going from Hudson to Great Barrington, going for a great hike along a creek in Taconic State Park, and visit Art Omi.
Note that the water pressure for the showers was very low and that the vanity in the shower room is really tiny so not very convenient but apart from that the house met all our needs!

thanks for your review and for letting us know about the water pressure - it was just scale build up. Also the main bath have a full size vanity sink.
Glad you enjoyed the house and rural Columbia County!
Very nice. Lake Taghkanic state park has great beach for younger kids. House was ok. If they are going to use fans for cooling the house all windows should have screens. Yard was wonderful full of wildlife to see and room to run. Organic garden didn't exist. Most rooms were very nice. One bed didn't stay on the slats properly. Overall nice place to stay.

Thanks for your review. We are quite far north and it's usually only hot for a few weeks a year, and it cools down to mid sixties at night. We didn't plant anything this year; thanks for reminding us to edit the description.
Hope to see you again when the weather is cooler.
This is a nice home. We were there on a hot day unfortunately, but the lsiting said that the place is manageable in the summer. . It was 88-90 degrees upstairs all day and into the night.
Most of the property isnt trimmed back, so the access to acerage is limited. And the wifi didn't work.
We had an excellent stay at this house in the Copake Lake area. We are familiar with the surrounding towns so knew to expect a country atmosphere, but it is also nice to be near a gas station, diner, and general store. The house was very clean and very comfortable and well-appointed with the household supplies you would expect- full kitchen setup with a few pantry items, fresh towels and linens in the beds/baths, and even cloth napkins so we didn't have to scramble for paper goods. While close to other homes, the expansive area behind the house helped it feel quite private when playing outdoors with our kids and dog. We hope to return in the near future.
The house was better in person than listed, nothing fancy but very clean and tastefully decorated in minimalist style, with many nice touches throughout. It is located on a quiet country road with a big back yard. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen one of the best equipped I have encountered in rentals (there were even sharp knives!). Located close to several charming Hudson Valley towns and Art Omi, a prefect place to spend the weekend with friends or family.
Lovely, peaceful place with a nice deck - very comfortable/ Kitchen well equipped. Owner was very responsive to any queries; wi-fi good. Weather was terrific/ no bugs during our stay, but can’t say for all time. Interior fit-out terrific, working on the shell. No AC, but lots of fans, which worked out fine. Would definitely return..
The inside was lovely, although a bit minimalistic. The view on linecwas from the side of the house, so we dive past it several times, as the front is entirely different. Comments about pumpkin hollow v pumpkin hallow n made it more difficult ti find
We enjoyed our stay! The indoor fireplace was wonderful each night and the home is comfortable through and through. We loved the design and layout. Highly recommended!
Great place to relax, particularly on back porch overlooking vegetable garden and meadow. House spacious and airy. Would go back. Would have been even better if porch and windows screened. Lots of friendly dogs nearby.
We loved coming 'home' to our home away from home during our weekend celebrating the life of a beloved family member who passed earlier this year. It was well equipped for making good food, relaxing on the porch and common areas, and good sleep on comfy beds in the quiet neighborhood. We loved watching the fireflies and birds in the ample and beautiful backyard. We would highly recommend.
Me, my spouse, and child thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Darius's residence and recommend it. The space was clean and organized, and accurately described in the listing. Basic kitchen and living supplies were present. We had need of an extension cord, and within an hour from emailing Darius to inquire if one was about, a cord was brought to us. The grounds were pleasant to wander around. The nearby region has nice markets and farms, good places for pretty nature and hikes, and the cute town of Hudson is not far. We highly recommend Art Omi, as well, especially for families with young children.
The one note for future inhabitants: the correct address in Google maps led us to the wrong house. We ignored it and kept down the road to the house number Darius gave us and it worked out fine.
We had a great time at the house. It was very clean, and we loved the style and decor. The backyard was beautiful, and our dog loved running around! The kitchen is spacious with a nice island, stove and utensils, and the beds were comfortable.
I do feel like I need to mention that the stairs to the second floor have a very short tread, and are a bit dangerous. I unfortunately fell down them and injured my leg pretty badly, and my fellow guests also struggled with them. I think it is worth noting, as I’m pretty severely bruised, and I wouldn’t want it to happen to other visitors.
We had a relaxing weekend..it was a great spot to hang out, play games, play with the dog, go for hikes. The house is clean and efficiently set up. Cozy and perfect for a weekend get away. Back porch is dreamy!!
We had a wonderful stay. The house was beautifully decorated and the perfect mix of modern and rustic charm. Everything was super clean and comfortable. We can’t wait to come back.
