About this property

Black Bear Meadows - only 22 miles to West Yellowstone!

Black Bear Meadows is your ultimate destination for year-round recreation and fun and is the ideal place for your Island Park/Yellowstone National Park adventure getaway. You will love the year-round access to world class recreation right out the front door. If "adventure" is not your thing and you just want to relax, Black Bear Meadows will not disappoint. Whether you choose to sit inside in the winter and watch the snowfall through our huge picture window looking at the meadow or relax around the campfire and stargaze. This well-appointed cabin offers something for everyone. There is nothing quite like making lasting memories with family and friends in a beautiful mountain setting.

Our guests love the close proximity (scenic 25 minute drive) to YELLOWSTONE and spend their days exploring. In the evenings return to the calm, private view from the covered back porch as you cook on the grill or around the fire pit.

Black Bear Meadows offers countless opportunities for world class recreation right out the front door. Winter is amazing at the cabin (especially if you LOVE snow). Whether you choose to snowmobile, cross country ski or snow shoe, winter is an amazing time to stay.

For our summertime guests, you can leave right from the driveway and connect with the famous Island Park Trail system and ride countless trails on ATVs or mountain bikes. A popular ride is the scenic old rail line in to West Yellowstone (approx 20 miles). There is a shop that rents mountain bikes, ATVs and canoes/paddle boards located less than a mile from the cabin.

If you need time to relax and rejuvenate from all of your "adventures" you will love the serene and peaceful 180 degree views off the back covered porch of the meadow and Two Top. Fire up the BBQ grill and eat your meals seated at the table on the back porch. Be sure to use our roasting sticks and roast a marshmallow or two in the fire pit as it becomes night falls and bring your telescope to star gaze at the wide open sky.

The inside of the cabin has an inviting, bright and welcoming feel. Upon entering the front foyer you will immediately find yourself drawn to the large picture window with an unobstructed view of the meadow and Two Top. The main floor great room has comfortable leather couches and a 75" TV. Gorgeous pine tongue and groove ceilings are throughout the whole cabin bringing a little of the outdoors in. The great room also includes a dining room with a large rectangular table. The kitchen is roomy and well stocked with ample space to gather and prepare meals. The beautiful granite countertops and large peninsula offers plenty of counter space for meal prep. From the dining room, french doors lead you to the covered porch which share the same amazing views. You will appreciate the convenience of a half bath off the front foyer.

Black Bear Meadows cabin boasts 3 cozy bedrooms. The large master is on the main floor and again shares the unobstructed view of the meadow. It's the only bedroom on the main floor thus providing privacy and quiet for guests sleeping there. The master has an attached bathroom with dual sinks, a jetted tub and separate shower.

Once upstairs you will find yourself in the spacious loft which is open to the main floor. At one end of the loft area is a bedroom and full-bathroom. At the opposite end of the loft area is a large "second" gathering space with comfy sectional and TV/DVD and the 3rd bedroom. In the upstairs loft area there are a couple great separate spaces which have bunkbeds for additional room to hang-out and sleep. The cabin comfortably sleeps a maximum of 13 people.

You'll be in close proximity to the golf course, playground, and a gentle hill for winter sledding. The clubhouse amenities include a pro-shop, 9 hole golf course and driving range. (Fees for use of resort facilities are an additional charge)

You'll be just a quick 25 minute drive to West Yellowstone, Montana and the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It is also 75 miles from Grand Teton National Park making an easy day trip. Blue ribbon fly fishing, boat fishing on Henry's Lake, Island Park reservoir or Hebgon Lake, MT. Hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails right out the front door. Scenic sights include; Harriman State Park, Mesa Falls, Big Springs, Johnny Sack's cabin, Sawtell Mt., Quake Lake and Ennis Montana. Stroll the quaint town of West Yellowstone for shopping, great food and the Playmill Playhouse for amazing live theatre. Cabin sits on the edge of spectacular Henry's lake Flats with view of the Idaho/Montana mountains.

Conveniently located in Island Park Village with easy and quick access to HWY 20 and Island Park's only grocery store.

Fantastic views
We returned from our stay at Black Bear and had a great experience. The place was roomy enough for 5 kids and 4 adults. The pictures depicted exactly what to expect. The toiletries and kitchen stuff were very welcome. The fire pit was a great touch for the kids to enjoy at the end of the long day in the park. The views- I cannot say how many amazing sunsets we saw but wow! Bring your binoculars for wildlife spotting as well- the kids were able to see a bear way off in the distance. Would stay here again. While it is 25-ish minutes from West Yellowstone- it made for a great way to end the day and watch the sunrise and sunset.

Perfect for a family stay!
This cabin was perfect for our family of 10. There were plenty of spaces for all of us to sleep comfortably. The home looks exactly as you see it pictured. Amazing window view of the mountains. Although it is in a neighborhood, you still felt secluded from neighbors in the backyard. Only a 20 minute drive from Yellowstone. A descent grocery store and gas station nearby to get essentials if needed. The only downfall was us Texans not used to a home without AC. The first night was too hot, but once we learned to leave the windows and doors open starting in the afternoon, it would be cool enough for a good night's sleep. Overall, I would totally recommend and stay here again.

Cozy, spacious home!
We enjoyed this house as a "base camp" for visiting Yellowstone. It was perfect! There is a great little grocery store just up the road that has everything you need while staying here. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property!
