A quick one-hour drive from the Asheville airport, brings you to our doorstep where your best lake and mountain vacation begins. Whether you prefer adventures like hiking, tubing, kayaking, skiing, and white water rafting; or resort amenities like pools, saunas, game rooms, tennis and golf; or relaxing on your deck taking in expansive lake views while listening to the birds; this is the vacation experience for you!
This spacious, tri-level four bedroom, three bathroom townhome sleeps eight very comfortably. Two primary bedrooms each with their own bathroom, king-sized bed, and luxury bedding are located on their own level for additional privacy. Two additional bedrooms located on the upper level provide plenty of room for family and friends. One upstairs bedroom offers a truly relaxing sleep experience on its queen sized bed while the fourth bedroom makes a great hangout for kids and teens with its two twin beds. A mini-split a/c unit complements the central air/heating in this room to provide a highly individualized experience of climate-controlled comfort. The rooms on this floor share a full bathroom and a view down to the high-ceilinged main level so no one feels isolated.
Seven steps down from the front door brings you to the main living area. From here you and your family will have plenty of room to relax in front of a fire, play your favorite board game, read a book, watch your favorite show on a large screen smart TV, or just enjoy the expansive lake view. You might also take advantage of the large, well-equipped kitchen to prepare a meal and enjoy it together at a roomy family-sized table indoors or dine al fresco on the furnished wrap-around deck while taking in the spectacular view of Fairfield Lake. One of the primary bedrooms is located on this level as well. Comfortable décor complement the panoramic views of the lake from the sliding glass doors which lead to the outdoor deck. Enjoy your morning coffee from the deck while you watch for hummingbirds or Canadian Geese.
Outdoor Deck and Activities: Step outside onto the furnished, wraparound deck to better enjoy the view of the lake, do some birdwatching, or barbecue. Everything you need is already here. The deck is equipped with a grill for outdoor grilling and comfortable patio seating for relaxing or dining while you enjoy the beautiful of Fairfield Lake and Bald Rock.
Concerned about COVID? So are we! We are taking every precaution to keep our home disinfected and COVID free for the health and safety of our guests. We have installed a REME Halo Whole home in-duct air purification system which runs 24/7 and cleans 99.9% of airborne bacteria , mold, and viruses. We insist on deep cleaning between guests that includes disinfecting all hard and soft surfaces with special attention given to high touch surfaces. We wash all linens and towels in a high heat "sanitary" cycle and follow all Safe-Stay protocols.
We are conveniently located less than two miles from The Sapphire Valley Resort. For a small resort fee, our guests can enjoy all of the Sapphire Valley Resort amenities. There is something for everyone at this family-friendly, year-round resort. An executive golf course, eight clay tennis courts, three pickleball courts, and a mini-golf course are a short two-minute drive away. The recreation center is home to a heated indoor pool, two hot tubs, two saunas, a game room, an exercise room, two outdoor pools, a kids' playground, and many lawn games to keep everyone entertained for hours. If you take a look at the daily schedule, there are daily classes, activities, excursions, live music, events, and workshops available.
Directly behind your vacation home is Fairfield Lake and the lake path that circles it. It is a lovely three-mile hiking/walking/running path that wanders around the lake (the trail is partially closed 5/15-8/15). Or, if you prefer a shorter walk, just a a few minutes away is Fairfield Beach and dock where you can swim, fish, or just relax. This rental includes the use of a paddle board at additional charge, but you can also take advantage of the canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards, and Jon boat rentals available at Fairfield Lake beach for an additional fee (don't forget to use your amenities card for a 25% discount on lake rentals).
Outside of the resort, guests will find more than enough adventure all within a short 30-minute drive. The towns of Sapphire and Cashiers are minutes away by car. You can explore shops, farmer’s markets, and restaurants or just grab some groceries. There are over a dozen amazing waterfalls and countless hikes all within an easy drive. Kayaking, canoeing, and rafting are exciting day trips, easily arranged, and also only minutes away by car. Or if you prefer, a trip to Brevard is just a few minutes more in the other direction. If you plan a visit to Brevard, don’t forget to stop at Dolly’s Dairy Bar for the best ice cream around. Be sure to try one of their many summer-camp-inspired flavors for a mouth-watering and unique experience. Finally, if you crave a day in the city, a day trip to Asheville might be just the thing. Just a little over an hour away you will find some of the best shops, restaurants, and art museums in the area. Don’t forget to set aside a few hours to visit the Biltmore Estate while you’re there.
Sapphire Valley is known for its endless summer fun, but the brisk weather and beautiful foliage in the Blue Ridge Mountains make our home a sought-after destination in Autumn. And don’t forget to come back in the winter to enjoy the snow at The Sapphire Valley Ski Resort (less than two miles or a quick five minutes away from our door). Beginners will love the bunny slopes while intermediate/advanced skiers and snowboarders can try the blue diamond slope with a quad chair lift. Lessons are available at a reasonable rate, so don’t let inexperience stop you! The whole family will also enjoy the Frozen Falls Tube Park or the Vordach zip-line experience. With so much to do, we hope you come back every season!
Whatever your reason (or season) for coming, we hope to provide you with an exceptional experience in our home and one that you will return to often.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Janenda

Hello! So happy that you are considering our home for your vacation! My husband John and I live in South Florida and have been married since 1998. We love active, adventure vacations and have traveled to many incredible locations around the world with our son and daughter. Having thoroughly enjoyed the compelling difference that comes from using a rental home as our holiday base of operations, we decided to become owners/hosts in one of our favorite destinations.
Why they chose this property
We have been coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains for years to visit family friends and/or to drop kids of at summer camp. We have delighted in spending time exploring the lakes, trails, mountains, and waterfalls that are seemingly around every corner of Western North Carolina. For an avid outdoors person, there simply isn't a better location. You could spend months here, or come back for a week year after year, and not do the same thing twice.
We chose a Sapphire Valley Resort community in particular because it provides access to a highly coveted menu of additional relaxation and entertainment possibilities. For a small amenities fee, you can access a myriad of facilities and activities that allow you to create almost any vacation experience you can imagine. You name it, and the Resort likely has it.

What makes this property unique
This townhouse was love at first sight for us. With it's open plan design, spectacular views, resort amenities, and ideal location, we feel it has everything to make a mountain vacation truly special any time of the year. The immaculate and spacious living room with wood-burning fireplace and lake views opens to the dining area, kitchen, and deck so guests can spread out yet still feel connected. Two primary bedrooms each with king-size beds, luxury bedding, and en suite bathrooms make guests feel pampered, rested and ready for a fun-filled vacation. The split level design means that kids or other guests have their own space in the upstairs third and fourth bedrooms with a full shared bathroom. ***Please note: We are taking extra precautions to protect the health and well-being of all our guests. In addition to thorough cleanings between guests that comply with CDC best practices (with special attention given to high touch surfaces and linens and towels washed at high heat), a whole house REME Halo In-duct Air Purifier which kills up to 99% of bacteria, mold and viruses has been installed to clean the air 24/7.***
