. . . would you like to know WHY???

#1. We have beautiful unobstructed panoramic white water views of the ocean, inside the house and out!

#2. We are just a short walk to the beach. A scenic trail to the beach starts just a few steps from the house.

#3. We are in a great location, on a quite residential neighborhood with little traffic.

#4. We have a beautifully landscaped grassy yard looking out to the ocean. Enjoy the ocean while dining on the patio, sunbathing in the yard, or sitting around the fire pit with a beverage at sunset.

#5. We are close to everything! 10 minutes to Legoland; 30 minutes to Seaward; 35 minutes to San Diego Zoo; 45 minute to Wild Animal Park; 1:15 hour to Disneyland;

Your home-away-from home at the beach is fully equipped, and features lovely views of the ocean, with plenty of outdoor space for the children to play and the adults to relax. You will enjoy comfortable beds, a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of off-street parking, WIFI, private laundry facilities, a grassy yard with patio furnished for outdoor dining and lounging, a propane grill, a fire-ring. Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, boogey boards, beach toys and coolers are provided, along with all your linens and basic kitchen supplies.

And it's sparkling clean!

Pelicans, egrets, seagulls, and great blue herons will point the way as you follow the short and easy scenic trail from the property to the beach (about a block-and-a-half).

In the evening, enjoy the view of the magnificent sunset over the Pacific and the graceful flight of many sea birds, while you cook dinner on the grill. If you've brought children, there's plenty of room for them to play, and you can relax while the kids play in the yard.

Stroll, bike, or rollerblade a few blocks up the coast to the "village" for lunch. Explore the small shops, boutiques, antique stores and cafes. There are many excellent restaurants, and If you in the mood for romantic evening out, one of Carlsbad's best ocean view restaurants is just three blocks from your home.

Cozy Ocean View Bungalow

This was our second stay. Great location and big fenced yard for our little dog. Really enjoy the outdoor gas firepit and lagoon walking trail right out front.

Great place, great view

We loved the location overlooking the lagoon (and ocean beyond) and being steps away from a hiking trail. The house was clean, comfortable and had great amenities (like the outdoor fireplace and outdoor seating). We would stay here again!

Gorgeous, private, easy access to beach

Beautiful, well kept home. We enjoyed sitting out in the yard taking in views of the lagoon and ocean and watching happy dogs and their owners start their walks down the trail. House had everything we needed and we would definitely stay here again!

Great spot in Carlsbad to explore

Loved the location. My teenagers loved walking to the beach. Easy access to and from the freeway. Loved sitting on the porch at night with a drink.

The description of the property was spot on. We were so happy. Very convenient, within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Nice view of the ocean and the yard was perfect for our dogs. We’re looking forward to staying here again soon.

2nd year there and better than the 1st. Clean, neat, affordable, fantastic view. The only issue (Which is very minimal) the grass was overgrown and leaves on the yard. Definitely plan on staying there again next year!

Great location. Our little dog loved the fenced in yard and the lagoon path that starts out the front door. Outdoor space with gas firepit, bbq, table with umbrella and lounge chairs madee for relaxing afternoons. Amazing lagoon and ocean views. Hope to return.

Location, location, location

This small home is truly walking distance to the beach and the boardwalk into Carlsbad. It is on a cul de sac, so very quiet, except for the few sounds from the passing trains.

Long Layover in Carlsbad

Stayed in Carlsbad for an extended layover from ATL to Kona to visit with friends. I previously lived in Carlsbad and knew this spot would be a perfect location to reconnect with old friends and visit my favorite spots. Great location if you know the area, easy beach access. Simply property - nothing fancy but clean and has everything you need for a short stay. Amazing sunset/Ocean views. Looking forward to staying again in the future.

Incredible views

We really loved the views and the ease to the beach. It has a beautiful fenced in side yard that’s great for dogs to wander. It was clean and comfortable. My suggestion would be to update the kitchen. There is little room to prepare and store food. Other than that a great stay!

Pictures about property was matching the house. It was clean, and it was a nice neighborhood. Check in was easy and the view is amazing however the first day we arrived at the house some truck parked right in front of the house when we were about the watch the sunset from the lawn but could not. The guy was in the car and did not bother to move for hours. This happened on 3 days, it was the same guy. If you book this property I would suggest you park your car in front of the house so no one else does. Other than this issue, we did not encounter any problems. It has a lawn with amazing views. I wish they had 4 outdoor lounge chairs instead of 2. Property had ocean toys washer and dryer. A/C was in a weird location at the house that it did not warm up the house at night. Overall it is a nice place to enjoy with family.

Perfect property in every way! The house has everything you could possibly need for your stay. The hairdryer was missing and we texted the property manager who ran one right over. The yard is beautiful and perfect for evening cocktails while overlooking the inlet and watching the sun set over the sound of the ocean waves!

Definitely the BEST location!

Absolutely loved this property. We spent most of our time outside relaxing in the yard - sometimes around the fire pit. We also loved walking the trail system that circles the lagoon that is right by the property. The house had everything we needed and was well appointed. I had trouble opening the door - my fault! and the host responded very promptly. No other issues at all. The most relaxing trip. I am already trying to see when we can come back. Thank you!!

Amazing views

This is a great property. We loved the view of the ocean every morning and evening. It was very close to the beach, and we walked most of the time. The drive was 2 minutes and easy also. The BBQ was very nice and easy to use so it made outdoor dinners the thing to do. I would recommend bringing an extension cord so you can plug into the outlet in the main bedroom. My phone cord was too short. I also thought the main bed was on the harder side, but I like soft beds so it’s really an individual preference. We loved our stay and would absolutely love to stay here again!

The location of this VRBO is great. You are close to everything. You have views of the ocean and the trail entrance to lagoon is in front of the house. The host is very responsive and accommodating. The only advice we had was get better beds. The beds are horrible and our stay was horrible because no one got a good nights rest. I am not sure why places that rent don’t invest in good beds. It would make this place so much more valuable! Also, small items stocked in the home would have been nice…for example coffee! That would have been a nice touch. House in need of repair and sparse in supplies which is why having a cozy bed would have been so nice! I would say great location but overshadowed by way uncommon beds.

Affordable slice of paradise

Everything was as advertised. Even better in person. We had a great time and enjoyed the yard and the location is only a 25 minute walk to the heart of Carlsbad. 5 minute walk to Tamarack beach and with the included parking pass it was perfect for our family of 4. It’s at the end of a dead end street which people do park along the road throughout the day. It doesn’t really interfere with the view and the front yard is landscaped very well so it feels very cozy and private. It was quiet even on cinco de mayo holiday. As far as the home goes we kept all the windows open and the breeze was perfect. Big mirrors in the bedrooms and has good hot water for showering and kitchen was fully stocked and clean. TV was nice for evening movies and even though we didn’t use the fire pit or grill it was nice to have. We will definitely look into staying here again. Neighbors were quiet snd there are so many trees and shrubs covering the property it felt super private. We loved it however the main queen bed was very firm for us. Depends on your liking…

When I discovered the property, I said the same thing I have heard thousands of times from neighbors and visitors...'This is the Best Spot in Carlsbad!' This little neighborhood has it all: The gorgeous views of the ocean and the lagoon, wonderful ocean breezes, a trail from the property to the beach, proximity to the restaurants of the Village and the Coaster train, great nearby shopping, easy freeway access -- but it's just far enough away from all these to avoid the noise and traffic! And, being at the North end of San Diego County, it's a great location for day trips to Disneyland or LA as well as all the San Diego attractions.

What makes this property unique

There is something very special about this property and its classic beach house -- a feeling of peaceful enjoyment, serenity, and the beauty of nature. Yet, it's just a stones throw to all the action! Carlsbad's best beach, Tamarack, is right out front. It is a sandy beach with lifeguards (summer only), restrooms, and showers. The Village is one mile away, with many restaurants, cafes, icecream, gift shops, and boutiques. A shopper's delight awaits at the Carlsbad Company Stores mall, a 5 minute drive. The lagoon (just to the south and east of the property) offers fishing, exploring, jet skiing, and sailing. Many guests love to simply relax in the ocean breezes, enjoying the sunshine and views from the yard and patios, dining outside, and letting the kids play in the yard.
