We have a welcoming ground floor, 723 sq. ft. one bedroom condominium at the Kihei Kai Nani complex across the street from a beautiful beach, Kamaole II, in Kihei (240 paces to sand). It is condo 125, located in building #5 which is located directly behind the pool. Kamaole II is a beautiful golden sand beach (rated as one of the 15 best beaches on Maui by the well respected Maui Revealed), which is both long and wide and has a nice snorkeling reef at its end. It has a lifeguard during the day and is shallow, making it family friendly. A short walk away are Kamaole I and III and a well maintained pathway is available for walkers and joggers that will take you from one beach to another all the way down to beautiful and exclusive Wailea (a relaxing 2 mile shoreline walk). There are benches situated along this pathway to allow for resting and Whale Watching during the December - March timeframe, when the Whales are frequently seen frolicking just off shore.

Kihei Kai Nani is located adjacent to a number of shops and restaurants, making it possible to stay here without the need for a rental car. The Maui bus stops by on S. Kihei road, just outside the complex, for non-walking distance outings.

The unit is fully furnished for you to enjoy your vacation in Maui. It has an ideal location in the complex with a garden view, giving it the advantage of privacy, so that you can sit quietly on the lanai and enjoy breakfast or read a book or simply enjoy hearing the birds. It is also steps away from the large freshwater pool and the main office and laundry facilities. The staff at Kihei Kai Nani is very helpful and will assist with informational needs. There is also a shuffle board court and the office provides the equipment to use it.

The condo has a fully equipped kitchen, with stove, microwave, dishwasher (new in 2025), coffee maker (some coffee, filters, sugar is provided), toaster, pots/pans, dishes and cutlery. It has a full size sleeper sofa (ideal for children or small adults). A walk out lanai with seating. A bedroom with a Queen size bed (new Casper cooling foam mattress in 2025), newly remodeled bathroom shower stall with hydrorail (hand held and overhead shower), 55" Smart TV/Radio in the Living room as well as a TV in the bedroom. Both TV's have Cable and the 55" can stream your channel subscriptions (e.g. Netflix etc.). There is a workstation (desk / printer) and free high speed wireless internet and an assortment of beach equipment for guest use (beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, snorkels/masks/fins, noodles). The condo has new (in 2024) split system Air Conditioning which has a separate register in the bedroom and another in the living area (the system is on a 6 hour timer). All linens (bed sheets/blankets, beach and bath towels, kitchen towels) are provided. An outdoor BBQ is feet way from the Lanai. Starter amounts of toiletries are made available for each guest.

Each condo is allowed 1 vehicle free parking in the parking lot. Parking lot has security staff monitoring the complex. Quiet time is enforced by security staff and runs from 10 pm thru 7 am.

South Kihei Area: Kihei is known for its reliably sunny weather with average annual rainfall of 4 - 10 inches annually. It is also known for several of the best of Maui's beaches, including Kamaole, Makena, Ulua, Mokapu and Polo. All beaches' shorelines in Maui are accessible to the public, even the ones where hotels are located have public access to their beaches. Further, one can walk or jog from Kamaole II beach all the way down to South Wailea beaches.

Several outstanding golf courses are available within a few miles, including some of the most famous in Wailea.

We stayed in the Kihei Kai Nani. It was a nice suite, very clean and well supplied with everything we needed, and then some. The property as well is very nice, beautiful pool, but the best part is it is literally right across the road from the beach, less than a minute's walk. Our suite was also fully supplied with everything we needed for enjoying the beach. I highly recommend this property.

Homey and Comfortable apartment close to beach

I stayed 5 nights in this comfortable, clean and homey apartment. Communication and check-in were super easy and well organized. A nice touch was the bowl of welcoming snacks. The kitchen is well equipped. If you want sharp knives, do bring your own. The location and proximity to the beach and other amenities make this a great place to stay. It was also nice to find some staples such as salt, sugar, tea and coffee. The Lanai has snorkel masks and other water and sand toys for guests to use. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We loved the condo and our time in Maui. The condo was clean and comfortable. It was centrally located close to many of the restaurants and a short drive to many of the attractions. A beautiful beach is located right across the road and it was convenient to use the beach chairs provided at the condo. Having a full, equipped kitchen was great as we ate breakfast and lunch in the condo. We hope to return soon!

The location was excellent. The condo however was very outdated and old. It was dirty and I do not think the quilt on the bed had been washed. I scrubbed the clothes iron to use it and didn't dare use the ironing board. A lot of the utensils were old and rusted and didn't dare use them either. The patio door was very hard to open and couldn't lock the screen door. The futon was dirty and the cushions on the dining room chairs were very dirty. One looked like someone had thrown up on it. Blankets and sheets were old and discolored. I do not recommend this unit.

This unit was amazing. A little old but quaint. It had everything we needed. Close to pool and smoking area. Only draw back was watching a gentleman shoot the hens with an air pistol. Catch and release elsewhere is better. Security staff was kind and helpful. Mahalo for a great stay. Will recommend it for sure.

I cannot recommend this place. I had several unpleasant interactions with the owner and other frustrations. We were forced to pay in advance an additional cleaning fee since we were checking in on a holiday. Although our fees should be based on departure. After several discussions about it I ended up paying it because we had no where else go and only recourse was to cancel. Then, once there, we were missing sheets for our pull out bed so we had to use towels—plus the pillows smelled like someone else’s head, so the cleaning fee was reduced to just one regular cleaning fee and they fixed it for our second night. They were apologetic. Also, the owner came in when we were gone to dinner and didnt tell us and failed to lock the door upon leaving, so we were really spooked. It was uncomfortable and overpriced and felt unprofessional.

Smelly unit

First of all, we had a hard time finding Bldg 5! Then we didnt have an access code to get into the unit. Thankfully I did have the owners phone number with me so I left a message & she immediately returned my call. She was able to walk us through the door access code process so we could fet into the unit. As soon as we walked into the unit we detected a urine smell. It was pretty bad. I called the owner the next morning to let her know about the smell, she contacted the cleaning lady to check it out & clean as needed. When we got back to the unit that evening we could still smell it. I checked with the front office the next morning & all they knew was that the problem was solved. I told them it wasn't, that I could still detect the offensive odor. They suggested I contact the owner which I did once again. She always answered my calls thankfully. She pursued the problem we were having & when we arrived back to the unit that evening, it as better but still detectable. We stayed away from the unit most of the time except for showers & sleeping. We didn't feel comfortable buying food & cooking in there or to just hang out there for long. If we turned the AC on it did help with circulating the air & the smell wasn't as bad. We feel cheated on being able to enjoy our time there & feel we should be entitled to a partial discount which has not been offered. The smell was obvious as soon as you walked in the door. Our daughters came over & immediately could smell it as well. It may be the futon, we never did sit on anything except 2 chairs that I put a towel on first to block the odor. All this to say, it was an extremely dissatisfied stay. This has been a long awaited trip, our first time to Maui & are leaving very disenchanted with our experience. There were a few other things but the smell was the worse to cope with. I'm surprised the cleaning lady couldn't detect the smell?!!

We are not a resort going/“foo-foo” family. We’d prefer to save some $$ on our room so we’d have more $$ to spend on activities. We needed a clean base to clean-up, cook a few meals and get a good nights sleep so that we could get out and explore all that Maui has to offer. This unit served us extremely well. It’s an older property but this unit has been nicely updated and was immaculately clean. Great location in south Maui with all the basics we needed (including snorkel/beach gear). 50 yd walk to Kam II beach and great central location to all the beaches and restaurants in south Maui. Highly recommended and would absolutely stay at this property/unit again!!

Fantastic experience!

This Condo was like home away from home!!! It was clean and cozy and reminded us of a cabin. The washroom was newly renovated and the bed was so comfortable. Great air conditioning and so many amenities. It had everything we could ask for.... beach chairs, paddle boards, snorkel gear, games, movies, stocked kitchen and also fresh condiments in the fridge. We loved the little pool area but the best part was it is located right across from a beautiful beach. Just minutes away from the famous Maui sunset over the ocean!!!! We will definitely be back and next time with the family. Lisa and Chuck are wonderful hosts and popped by to check on us! Thank you for everything!!!!!

The snorkeling here is excellent and so is the dining. There are ample of opportunities to enjoy pristine natural beauty, from one of the highest mountains anywhere, to double rainbows, to turtles popping out their heads to nibble on growth on rocks by the shore. You will love Maui too. Use our place to relax and enjoy!

Why they chose this property

Kihei Kai Nani has an outstanding location, directly across from Kamaole II beach, rated one of the top 10 beaches on Maui by the well-respected Maui Revealed travel guide. The beach has lovely golden sand and is both wide and long with a good snorkeling reef at its end. If you walk 3 minutes, you are on Kamaole III, another very long, beautiful beach! Both beaches have lifeguards during daytime and are nice and shallow for families. If you are a walker or jogger, there is a pathway connecting the beaches from Kamaole II all the way to Wailea (2 miles one way). What a lovely and exhilarating walk! From Kihei Kai Nani, you are able to stay in a comfortable unit at an affordable price, be minutes from a lovely beach and steps from a great pool, while being minutes drive or walk away from ritzy Wailea, the best of both worlds!

Our unit (125) at Kihei Kai Nani, is on the ground floor. Its location gives it many advantages, the primary one being privacy and quiet. The lanai backs up to a garden view. There are no buildings facing you, which affords you maximum privacy and hours of peaceful relaxation on the lanai. Additionally, it is 30 paces from the great freshwater pool and the office and laundry facility.
