Hosted by Ana Galvan

Mark and I live in Bowie, MD and have a long tradition of spending summer vacations at the beach. When our children were growing up, our vacations were spent with other families with children in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We always rented a house or two that would accommodate several families. These vacations in the Outer Banks will always hold a special place in my heart and memory.
When we started our search for a vacation house, we decided to aim a bit closer to home so that we could spend more time there. We love the Southern Maryland area because it has coastline on the Chesapeake Bay, Potomac river, Patuxent river and other rivers and waters. And so It has lots to offer every member of the family, lots of beaches, water trails for kayakers, hiking trails, local museums, towns to explore, both historic and ‘small town’. There is also fishing and boating available. See the ‘features’ for detail on these attractions. Of course, there is still my favorite thing which is to put my chair in the sand, put those sunglasses on my face, enjoy the view of the water and open my book.
Our children are now grown and we have grandchildren, so we enjoy having a house that is spacious enough for the family and extended family to spend time together. With close to 4000 sq feet of space, this house has plenty of room to spread out and still be together. We want to share our house with other family groups so that they could enjoy spending vacation time with one another.
Some of my favorite things about Serenity Bay are the view of the water, the charm of using the kayak or paddle boat, the dock to take a stroll on. And the relaxed feeling that overtakes me as I arrive.
