Stunning architectural Penthouse with ocean views

Seaboard Lofts is a modern architectural local landmark built in 1979. The duplex sits on the hill giving each identical unit the feeling of living in a high rise while enjoying 180 degree views of the ocean featuring the view of white water waves.

The upper unit that we refer to as the Penthouse (RNTL-014530-2021) occupies an entire floor. The Penthouse has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, including a spacious master suite with walk-in closet, uniquely designed curved walls and ocean views in both bedrooms. Maximum occupancy is 5 adults. The Penthouse has access to a private garage where the laundry is located. There are 2 parking spaces on the property dedicated to the Penthouse, accessible from the back alley of the property.

The units feature new remote controlled blackout, solar combo blinds and air conditioning to add to your comfort. The Penthouse shares dynamic views while having the convenience to be located in the walking district of Cardiff-by-the-Sea which features fine dining and Seaside Market. As a corner lot location, the units are located on a fairly busy street whose sporadic noise is partially addressed by the design and modern windows found throughout the units.
Each 1128 square foot unit has approximately 30 feet of glass sliding doors that opens to a 300 square foot balcony where you can enjoy the breeze while watching the waves of the ocean from the combined 1400 square feet of living, dining and kitchen areas. The unit includes a fully equipped kitchen, 65 inch HDTV, electric fireplace, high speed internet for your enjoyment.
Both units share a fenced front yard which provides an ocean view sitting area with fire pit, BBQ, outdoor showers and a jacuzzi hot tub.

RNTL-014530-2021.Our city requires our guests to sign a rental agreement and our insurance requires our guests to acknowledge the hot tub rules. Upon booking, you will receive emails that lead you to our rental agreements and the security deposit form. Further, due to extreme allergies of the owner this unit adheres to a strict no pet policy.

Perfect Beach Getaway!

The penthouse is wonderful - modern decor, very clean, and everything you need is there. The view is beautiful and the neighborhood has a lot to offer. Super easy and enjoyable to walk along the coast to Encinitas. We had a great stay.

We loved staying here. We could walk to everything and the view was amazing. The condo is perfectly equipped and the decor is classy and sleek. We were able to get work done on line when needed and because of the magnificent view and location, we didn't feel like we were missing out. Walking everywhere was great.

The kitchen is not really outfitted for cooking. Two knives only - very dull... pots and pans minimal. No mixer etc etc. not a big deal if eating out every meal but it was the holidays and we were trying to spend a bit more time at home.

2nd Time Renting the Penthouse

We rented the Penthouse 3 years ago and were happy to stay here again this year. The location was perfect--walked often. It is spotless and has everything you need. We took advantage of all of the amenities, enjoying the hot tub nightly and cooked an amazing dinner for Father's Day. Cristina was very responsive. Can't say enough about our experience.

Amazing ocean views!

The Penthouse was an excellent choice for our family. I think the property description undersells the amazing ocean views. Felt like we could see the ocean from LA to Mexico. Enjoyed drinking our coffee and wine on the balcony and watching the ocean. There was plenty of space for our family of four. The bedrooms are very comfortable and so nice to have two bathrooms. The kitchen was solid for cooking meals. Kept the balcony doors open to catch cool breeze. Moonlight beach is a 5 minute drive. Lourdes Mexican restaurant very close walk, has great tacos. Yummy pizza close by too. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Beautiful property, great location

This property does not disappoint. It is just as pictured. Cristina, the owner was extremely prompt and responsive to our inquiries, from booking the property and during our stay. There are some added touches that we appreciated, such as the fridge stocked with a supply of soft drinks and water, and even a bottle of wine to welcome us. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony each evening, the ocean views and the spectacular sunsets. The property is a short walk to the Seaside Market and other shops, great restaurants and the beach. We would definitely stay at this property again. We can't wait to have the opportunity to go back!!!

Beautiful clean property, but not great for small children

This is such a beautiful property and location; incredibly clean and the backyard design is gorgeous and felt very private and resort-like. However, as a few other reviews have mentioned, it is right on the busiest street - probably in the whole town as it’s the main street right off the freeway exit for Cardiff. So it was pretty disappointing to sit outside to enjoy the view and just be blasted with street noise all day. It also made the bedroom where our baby was sleeping incredibly loud. That same bedroom also did not have any air conditioning, so it was not ideal for a young baby as it was sometimes 80+ degrees in there despite the ceiling and floor fan. If you don’t mind noise and don’t have young kids this would be a beautiful spot still!!

Excellent Stay in Cardiff

This is an excellent property with great owners. The building has been renovated and updated to a two unit duplex/flat. It has great/sweeping views of the ocean. The owners have taken extra steps to include those little things that those of us who VRBO all the time really appreciate like great beds, good towels, beach towels, hair dryers, flat iron, lots of storage, and laundry baskets. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook and clean up without issue. The garage has bikes, electric skooters, and beach gear. The porch has an overhead installed heater. The living room has hidden storage, drawers of games, a beautiful little fireplace, and blankets to snuggle under. Walking distance to the Cardiff Market, restaurants, and stores. Also close to get to the beach. Several people mentioned the road noise. Birmingham is a busy 2 lane street, but you cannot hear any noise inside the flat. It was also quiet in the mornings and in the evenings for sitting outside and enjoying the sunset.

Great Views and Comfortable Space

We spent a week in the Penthouse visiting family for the Holidays. It was so convenient as my sister lives nearby. The place is beautiful, comfortable and homey! Christina was very welcoming and navigating the details of the property simple. There was even a Christmas tree in the living room and a bottle of wine and some soft drinks in the fridge. We had some small family gatherings, did a good deal of cooking, and the kitchen is well appointed. The area is excellent for taking walks and cycling. We rode to Oceanside and to Torrey Pines during our stay up the 101, and it was beautiful. The city of Encinitas is a 1 mile quick walk up the rail trail and there are tons of restaurants bars and shops. We really enjoyed Herb & Sea and Ciciottis just down the street. The deck is beautiful and sunsets amazing. The bathrooms are well appointed, and beds so comfy. Love the simple decor, and great appliances. Absolutely had a wonderful time, and enjoyed the Penthouse!! The laundry in the garage is great, and we could park our mid-size SUV in the garage with no issues. It is roomy, and there was space to store our bikes as well.

beautiful penthouse apartment

High end finishes and linens with a well appointed kitchen. Gorgeous view! I would give this property a 4.5 if possible. Only negative is the street noise. At the time we were there the remote for the smart fan in the 2nd bedroom wasn't working so had to leave the windows open and it is loud! Nice AC in master and main living area. Nice touches like sodas/waters and wine on arrival. Christina was very responsive.
