Welcome to The Pumpkin Cottage!

has fire pit, grill, picnic area out back!!!

1 mile from Bentley Gate and VCC at Ft. Sill
Next to Sheridan Road, across from City Park, quiet neighborhood!
Guests will have whole house -- including 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, yard and carport

Well stocked kitchen -- pots, pans, bakeware, dishes, silverware, etc.
Just bring your groceries!

I will be meeting you at checkin.
Checkin is between 3 PM and 8 PM and less other arrangements are made in advance of booking.
At arrival, I will give you a short tour of the house to go over some basics and then give you the key.
I am always available by text messaging if any problems or questions arise!

Older house, tidy. Alot of nick knacks, up high away from kids reach which was good for us. Great back yard space and fire pit! Had everything for cooking both inside and out.

Bootcamp Graduation

My large family visited Lawton for my sons graduation and made The Pumpkin Cottage our home for 3 days. Suzanna was a gracious host and consistently helpful from start to finish. This guest was an absolute nightmare -- didn't follow any of the house rules, complained about EVERYTHING, allowed her children to do damage, and then BULLIED ME AND THREATENED ME when I filed a damage claim for the destruction and havoc they created. They are truly the worst sort of traveler. VRBO needs to screen their guests more thoroughly and HOLD THEIR GUESTS accountable for BULLYING and THREATS. I WON the damage claim and WAS PAID for the damage. I am happy to provide any future guest proof of the damage award against Cassandra. SHAME on you Cassandra for being so unpleasant, a liar, and a bully.

We really enjoyed our stay! The fireplace was absolutely the highlight of the trip — plenty of firewood provided, and it made the evenings feel warm and magical. The property also had charcoal grills available (just be sure to bring your own charcoal — there was a half bag left from a previous guest).The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook, including spices and condiments, which was such a nice touch. In addition to basic appliances, there was also an air fryer, toaster and drip coffee maker. The decor was fun and fall themed. The home itself felt cozy and welcoming, perfect for relaxing and slowing down.The only downsides were that the beds weren’t very comfortable and could definitely benefit from some mattress toppers, and there weren’t quite enough blankets to snuggle up in the living room.Bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner, but water pressure was very low (and don't run any water while someone is showering!) Not a deal breaker, but I'm a shower snob! Overall, though, it’s a lovely, comfortable place to unwind — especially if you’re looking to spend time by a roaring fire. We would definitely stay again!

pumpkin cottage

We had a great time and the cabin was nice but we were disappointed by the rules of the house that were not disclosed to us until a few days prior to us leaving for out trip. We were not told about not being able to wear shoes in the house and the total amount of people we can have visit us. The purpose of the trip was to visit family. The hostess was nice but their was a lot of personal items in the cabin based on a theme that was not disclosed to us and not visible in the pictures. Also it was not clear what items we needed to supply and what was available to us. Overall we had a good time and the beds were great to sleep on.

It was clear at check-in that the guest had not read the Listing in full. The rule that upset them was no shoes in the house, which is clearly listed on VRBO and has been for the past eight years. They were upset that I would not let them have a party at the House with over 20 people which not only is against VRBO policies, but also against the fire marshal occupancy occupancy order. The “personal items” are decorations on the walls that do not interfere with use of the house. Speaking of which is a house, not a cabin. Everything in the house is available for guest use with the exception of the locked maintenance closet. For some reason these guest did not like the fact that one closet was locked. The real reason for this substandard review is that she was incredibly distressed to find out that I lived across the street and said repeatedly that I should be required to put that on VRBO. I have never had somebody have such a Negative reaction to finding out that I live across the street. Finally, it’s July and the weather is over 100°. As such, I need to water the landscaping every three days so that it doesn’t turn brown and all die. These people thought it was funny that a teenager on the trip with them threatened to “sock me in the face” for letting them know that I would be watering the landscaping. I took that as a credible threat of violence and even reported it to VRBO and opened a case against them in case of further threats. Through all this hostility and constant complaints, I remain very professional and nice as she states. Sometimes the best thing you can do with incredibly difficult guests is just pour the sugar on. Bless her little heart.

The Pumpkin cottage was great! Susanna was so easy to communicate with and very accommodating to our last minute changes. The cottage is just minutes away from food and about 15 mins away from the base. I would stay here again!!

Susanna Venator was the BEST HOST EVERRR !!! when I say that she has ALL of the bases covered I mean every word !!Very nice,hospitable,friendly and genuine ! The Pumpkin Cottage had everything that u wnt or need and then some !! And that's a promise !! Including gated parking if u need it !!! AND she has 3 Vrbo houses on this exact same block !!! Quaint getaway or home away from home.

Lot of space to move around. Had fun around the fire Pit, sang songs. Would be very warm in the winter time. You won't regret staying here. Landlord bends over backwards to make your stay enjoyable. Thank you so much for letting us stay here.

Excellent BCT Family Day Spot

We rented this property for our Soldier’s graduation from Basic Combat Training. It was the perfect place for us to spend the day relaxing with our family and our Soldier. There was a fire pit and a grill with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. We were able to get groceries nearby and cook all of our meals at home. The house was clean and Susana was an excellent host. She even had camp chairs to lend us for the graduation ceremony. I am SO glad we did this instead of staying at a hotel and eating out for meals!! We were able to spend so much more precious time with our Soldier before he heads off to AIT.
