Roomy first floor flat right on the beach.
Great location with easy access to a relatively uncrowded section of the beach at a fair price for 3 Br.
If you want to be at PCB the location is unbeatable. Away from the condo towers and between two public beach access locations, this spot of the beach was relatively uncrowded. On Memorial Day weekend it was still elbow to elbow with music blaring but that's everywhere. Close to local supermarket/liquor store The Carousel and the famous local Thomas Donuts. Short drive to Publix or Winn Dixie. Restaurants are far but that's what delivery is for. Lots of traffic on Front Beach Road but it's not as bad as Destin. Not far from 30A if you want an upscale restaurant. Eateries in PCB not great. Easy drive to airport.
Balcony opens directly onto the beach. The surf was very high the whole week without any bad weather or other obvious reason (possibly an extended high tide?) with a rip tide on a couple of days that made even our adult strong swimmers stay out of the water. Not being able to swim in the sea was a disappointment for the kiddies, especially since this property had no pool. My first time at PCB so don't know if this is the usual surf situation. Lots of really great shells. I usually vacation at Destin with Pensacola second. It's hard to tell what a beach is like in one week but because of the high surf at PCB I didn't like it as much., and it made the water not as clear. Probably it's not usually like that. We all remarked that the sand seemed even finer and nicer than in Destin and Pensacola. Also, virtually no boats, jet skis, airplanes towing banners like in Destin/Pensacola. No fireworks. Quieter beach experience. And we think we saw a manatee.
The property itself is basic but better than the photos. Good beds. Lots of room for 6 adults and 2 kids, although the balcony got crowded. Some of the patio chairs were busted out and there were a few other maintenance issues (burned out light bulbs, drippy faucet) but nothing that was a big problem for us. It's a drag to go to the realty office to get the key but whatever. The parking was the main problem --- only one dedicated parking spot per unit. The additional "Guest" parking spots were always occupied. We ended up canceling our second rental car and just making do.
PCB is not Destin or Pensacola, but that can be good. Cheaper and less stressful to stay here and I would do it again if the surf is calmer so we can get in the water.
