The property was very well thought out. The host made sure to stock everything you might need. The location was excellent, with wonderful views of the river. The host had placed some personal certificates in frames in the living room and seeing his accomplishments was truly impressive. The cabin was clean, big enough for our group, and SO MUCH FUN!.
What a unique and awesome place to stay. The Riverhouse was designed with guests in mind. We traveled with another family (4 adults and 4 kids under 10), and we had plenty of space and everything we could have needed and then some. The kids had so much space to play and loads of games. We all enjoyed spending time on the deck and watching the barges go by. It was great having bicycles available so we could check out the path. Unique place in a beautiful area. Highly recommend.
What a great property! Within walking distance to lots of restaurants and pubs and within a couple miles of the gorgeous Pier Marquette State Park. We rode the ferry, took the tram to the top for the best views, rode the mountain roller coaster, and were lucky enough to join in on the local sip and stroll. At the property we enjoyed the fire pits, sat on the deck and watched the river action, and had lots of choices for sleeping arrangements. The kitchen is well-stocked with a beautiful view of the river & the walking/riding path with supplied bikes was an enjoyable bonus. Our host Brandon was an excellent communicator and very responsive to our needs.Highly recommend!
Great place for a family and friends stay! The property has ample space and onsite activities for all age groups. There are an abundance restaurants and attractions close by. The kitchen is large enough to make a family meal or a quick snack. The view from the back deck is amazing! Great communication from the property owner. You wont regret staying here.
Brandon was an amazing host! He was very quick to respond, stayed in close contact and was very open/honest about anything he could think of that would be less than high standard at the time. Items were missing from prior guests, so he placed an order and had it delivered in case we needed any of the items. The house was a great size for 8 adult ladies. The game room is the coolest! We enjoyed the bikes, back deck, campfire area. We utilized everything in the kitchen/bathrooms with no issues. The bar/grill next door was closed during our visit but if open probably would have been noisy at night, so may not be the ideal place for people who want to go to bed early. But we absolutely enjoyed it, perfect back deck to watch barges, drink coffee and snag good sunrise and sunset photos!
We had a great stay with 10 girlfriends celebrating birthdays. The location is awesome and the house is so nice! Plenty of room inside. The patio was so nice to watch the boats go by!
Location and house was perfect for our boys. They loved the game room and being able to walk to the river to fish. The host was very kind and had the house equipped with everything you need for a few days away!
My family had a wonderful stay at the Grafton River House over Thanksgiving. Brandon reached out to me early and helped me to plan for cooking a feast at the house, ensuring the equipment onsite was what I needed. And it was! We prepared an entire Thanksgiving meal, and several dinners, lunches and breakfasts over the course of our stay. Because it was so cold outside, the family spent most our time playing games downstairs and watching plenty of football on the home's modern TVs. We really enjoyed our time together, and are grateful for the accomodations, as we had family come in from three different states. Thanks to Brandon for the wonderful memories!
Perfect for our extended family group with young children. Awesome play room for kids and adults. It also worked well for us as we had a couple of sensitive sleepers needing quiet. Walkable to restaurants and activities while still providing privacy and great views. There is an extra building with beds which we didn’t need and plenty of room for a campfire and outdoor games.
This location was perfect for our vacation with our two dogs. The path behind the house was great for morning walks. The property had all the amenities you could ask for. The view from the deck was great and we could watch the boats on the river. We had rainy weather one afternoon and enjoyed the game room. We would definitely visit again!
Traveling through with 8 people , this property was beautiful and accommodated our needs. Close to restaurants & bars. Nice outdoor area with river view. We enjoyed our stay and will book again.
The property sits right near the Mississippi River/Illinois River confluence. There is a nice, paved walking/biking trail right behind the house. From the very large deck, we had a pretty view at all times. The are restaurants all along the streets of Grafton. Our host was most accommodating and responsive to our questions and feedback. We had a fun stay.. .
A convenient and unique place to stay in the Grafton, IL area. Our host, Brandon, was very responsive and friendly. We will stay there again if the opportunity arises!
We enjoyed our two day get away at the Grafton River House. There were only two of us but the place is spacious enough to host a good size group. The scenery from the outside deck is very nice and there are a lot of activities to choose from on the property.
Nice property with many, many thoughtful amenities included for families such as bicycles, toys, and games for both inside and out!

I love to travel and am proud to have set foot on all seven continents. Throughout my wanderlust (27 countries and counting) I have met some wonderful people, had some memorable adventures, and I feel that hosting others is a new and interesting way to "Ramble On".
Why they chose this property
This home caught my eye from the moment I came to Grafton. It's on the edge of town with possibly the best water views in all of Grafton. The glass overhead door and open lower level make for fabulous hosting opportunities and it's hard to beat grabbing a bicycle or grabbing running shoes or grabbing a pet leash and taking a few steps to the paved trail which goes for miles in both directions.
