Some of the pictures of the barn house include peach trees surrounding the barn. The trees are reaching the end of their useful productive life span. This year it appears we will have some peaches! Our guests are more then welcome to pick some while they are staying at the BARN. Please be kind and just take what you can eat and save for our next guests. In the future we hope to have a variety of fruit trees for all season's. Keep in mind if you have to "tug" on them, they are not ready yet. Keep checking, some ripen before others!

Calhoun County is famous for peaches and there are numerous farms nearby that have excellent farm stands.

Beautiful Setting
This property was exactly as described, the rolling hills were beautiful! Conveniently located, though you felt miles away. Susan was so very responsive to all my questions pre-trip and checked in while we were there to ensure our needs were met and to ask if we had questions or issues. Home was very tidy and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need! I've passed along the posting information already to many family and friends! We hope to visit again one day!

The Barn did not disappoint
This was our first Vrbo and the experience did not disappoint. The Barn was more than I imagined. The owners were fantastic and went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could be and it was. The Barn was in great shape on a picturesque landscape. Quick access to the St. Louis are or a quiet walk in the woods. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a quick get away and a short drive plenty activities if you want.

Why they chose this property

We came upon this property one day as we were driving from Springfield, Il. It was so beautiful with the rolling hills, peach and apple orchards and views of Pere Marquette state park in the far distance. It reminded us of Tuscany, Italy. We fell in love with the area immediately. We found a 24 acre peach orchard, and decided to build the Barn (as we call it) . It was to be temporary living till we built an Inn on the top of the hill. As we started to build the barn it got more and more elaborate with granite counters, pine ceilings, custom cabinets and Italian stone patio. We lived there for 10 years and loved every minute. As life changes so did our plans. We kept the home for others to enjoy and experience all the beauty. There is a great marina in Grafton, Il. , with boat & jet ski rentals. Plenty of nice restaurants and wineries. Zipline and state park just a ferry ride away.

What makes this property unique

The Views are spectacular! The river is 2 blocks down the road. Peach season is in July till Early September ! Best peaches in Calhoun County!!
