Our guests are more then welcome to pick some while they are staying at the BARN. Please be kind and just take what you can eat and save for our next guests. In the future we hope to have a variety of fruit trees for all season's. Keep in mind if you have to "tug" on them, they are not ready yet. Keep checking, some ripen before others!
Calhoun County is famous for peaches and there are numerous farms nearby that have excellent farm stands.

This was such a great place to get away from the busyness of the world. It was very comfortable, scenic, and peaceful. The host/hostess were very quick and clear communicators. The accommodations and amenities ranked high!

This house had one of the best appointed kitchens I’ve seen in a rental. The house is also great to just chill. One day we just stayed on site, hot tubbing and eating in. Very relaxing.

This is our 3rd time staying at the Red Barn. We love the remote location that is still very easy to get to from St. Charles County. Always a nice relaxing weekend with plenty to do from the pool table, to the fire pit or the hot tub.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and comfortable, with numerous amenities. It sits on a huge property with plenty of solitude (only 2 neighbors within sight and cows can be heard mooing in the distance.) It's not far from the free ferry over to Grafton, Pere Marquette and the Great River road, or the fee-ferry over to St. Charles (and their historic landing there with quaint shops). It was really the perfect place to get away for a couple of nights. It was a bit windy while we were there, which had us spending more time in the game room one night than outside, which was fine. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It is greatly appreciated. Susan
Very clean, kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The host had many added personal touches like a hand written welcome note and banana bread waiting for us upon arrival. Host also messaged the day of arrival telling us the place was ready for us and we could check in early if we’d like (without us even asking for an early check in). It was so nice to be able to take advantage of the early check in! Will definitely be back.

This is a gorgeous house, it was a fantastic experience. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and the place was so beautifully decorated. It felt very remote and private. We really enjoyed the deck and hot tub. There were many things to do and enjoy. Thank you to the wonderful hosts and we can't wait to come back.

Why they chose this property
We came upon this property one day as we were driving from Springfield, Il. It was so beautiful with the rolling hills, peach and apple orchards and views of Pere Marquette state park in the far distance. It reminded us of Tuscany, Italy. We fell in love with the area immediately. We found a 24 acre peach orchard, and decided to build the Barn (as we call it) . It was to be temporary living till we built an Inn on the top of the hill. As we started to build the barn it got more and more elaborate with granite counters, pine ceilings, custom cabinets and Italian stone patio. We lived there for 10 years and loved every minute. As life changes so did our plans. We kept the home for others to enjoy and experience all the beauty. There is a great marina in Grafton, Il. , with boat & jet ski rentals. Plenty of nice restaurants and wineries. Zipline and state park just a ferry ride away.
What makes this property unique
The Views are spectacular! The river is 2 blocks down the road. Peach season is in July till Early September ! Best peaches in Calhoun County!!
