Grafton Getaway - Farm is a secluded 23 acre property with chickens, ducks, fishing, wooded walking trail, and barn hayloft sleeping quarters. The Farm is one of 8 Grafton Getaway Guesthouses and is just 10 minutes from Grafton and 38 minutes from Lambert St Louis airport

Amenities are plentiful at our hobby farm and include:
*hammocks, swings, and a putting green
*trampoline, bbq grill, ping pong table, giant yard chess, and kids zone in barn
*smokeless Tiki firepit with free firewood along with a gas fire pit in the Gazebo
*classic record player and complimentary coffee/tea/hot choc in the full kitchen
*foosball, free fiber WiFi, free naps, frisbee golf
*82 inch smart Tv for rainy days or to watch our fav DVD - "Funny Farm"
*additional smart Tv's in master suite and basement

Listen to the sounds of nature (songbirds, cows, hawks, coyotes) as you will not hear any highway. Step outside to see if our chickens have produced farm fresh eggs for you (they lay more eggs when happy, so be sure to smile at them during check in), and scan our pear/peach/apple trees for a ripe fruit. Then find inspiration for your next travel journey in our "Adventure Room" complete with books, maps, and travel trinkets from our own adventures. Next, grab our fishing gear and try for a bass or perch or catfish (catch and release). Then relax in our hammock or gazebo or walk along our wooded trail which has benches to sit for a bit to read, relax, contemplate, or meditate.

We utilize staggered pricing so that smaller groups pay less than larger groups. Inquire if further questions. Weekends require a minimum of 6 guests. Pet fee is $50. Guests at hotels call the front desk when they need something...so if ever during a stay you feel your satisfaction is not at a 5-star level please call/text us right away, while you are still with us, so we can remedy the situation and make your stay all you hoped it would be.

Twenty-five ladies from church met for a weekend retreat to relax, renew and refresh. We enjoyed this property so much. So private and such a nice place to find a quiet peaceful spot to reflect.

Wonderful Getaway with Family!

This place is fantastic! One of the best things is touring when you first arrive. There is so much to do! Tons of games, relaxing outdoors, and chickens! Definitely recommend!

Great staycation

Mom and I had a great time fishing and relaxing. Plenty of room for large family's. Pet and kid friendly.Everything was clean and very nice! Brandon the host was good at communicating with us and made things easy and accomadating.Would def stay again. Thanks for a great time!

Family Vacation Fun!

We had a great 4 night stay at this property. There are lots of activities plus collecting fresh eggs from the hen house. We saw many birds, heard a bull-frog and coyotes, plus saw several baby deer. The host was attentive, but unobtrusive. My one word of caution is to the seniors renting. There are two staircases that are a bit challenging. However, two bedrooms, the main living area, bathroom and porches are all easily accessed. Our family of 15 ranging in age from 8 to 76 had a fantastic stay!!

The property is a lovely adventure!

We had a great time celebrating my husband's 60th birthday with a surprise trip with all of our kids and grand kiddos. The property had beds everywhere and we fit perfectly. The entire property was an adventure in our own backyard. So many things to see and do and discover in every corner.

Perfect family getaway

Enough room for all of us, and there were 21! So much to do! The temperatures were under 20 degrees for much of our stay. We wish we could have taken advantage of the outdoor activities, but it was just too cold.

Perfect Getaway

Wonderful couple of days. Perfect way to celebrate the Christmas Season with our family. Thoughtful touches throughout the house. Plenty of space and lots to do. Short drive from St Louis yet you felt like you were a 1000 mikes away. Kids had a blast and the moms got to relax. Would love to come back the the farm or visit their other properties in the future!

College Reunion

3 young families, 7 kids under age of 4. We had a great time. Most laid back (in a good way) host I have experienced, check in/out was a breeze. It is an older farmhouse not a new build so just have appropriate expectations, photos are accurate. Very well furnished, comfortable beds. Very thoughtful with variety of kids activisties, our kids enjoyed the trucks, gravel pit, kid zone, trampoline, paddle boat, and gathering eggs. Would absolutely go back.

Family Reunion at the Farm

Our family ranged in age from infant to 85 years old. All of us had a good time at the Farm. The host was very responsive and helpful, even meeting us upon arrival. The property provided lots of opportunities for activities and fun, with a variety of indoor spaces and games plus multiple outdoor things to do. We were surprised that we were expected to help care for the chickens & ducks, but these chores were simple. The seclusion of the property was nice for us, but it was also near several places we needed or wanted to go (stores, the river, a state park). We highly recommend this host and location.

Perfect place for our Thanksgiving reunion

Our family of 18 was looking for a location to gather for a Thanksgiving reunion for our group scattered across the country. The St Louis area became our target destination. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay than the Grafton Getaway Farm in Dow, IL, just a 40 minute drive into the city. The house was so accommodating to our needs and the kids loved playing farmer as they tended the chickens and fed the ducks. Brandon was a great host, it was fun seeing his collection of memorabilia from his world travels, some which our group had experienced but many others we are now inspired to undertake. A fully stocked kitchen and pantry with extra tables and chairs made our Thanksgiving feast one for the memory books. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location to other families looking for a taste of farm living.

Perfect family getaway

Thank you Brandon for hosting our family! We had a blast—fishing, ping-pong, bags, darts, playing records and so much more. The house is an adventure & discovered so many rooms. Lots of room for everyone in our family. We are huge Harry Potter fans and loved the 9 3/4 room! The chickens and ducks brought us so much joy everyday. The house is spotless, well-maintained; with modern amenities. Very clean home and beddings were comfy. To wind down our day, we loved the big screen TV in the family room. Nice to gather around the fire pit. Well-stocked kitchen & loved the coffee pods! Had a great stay and we were sad to leave. This is the best place for family bonding time as there are so many indoor/outdoor games available or simply sitting outside enjoying the peace and quiet.

Perfect for a large group! With ages from 6 months - 65 there was something for everyone—trails, fishing, chickens, trampoline, games, puzzles, quiet reading…it was all there. The kitchen was well appointed for all our cooking needs. The air conditioning worked great for comfort on the hot, humid days. We had a blast and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderful place for a family vacation

Absolutely loved our stay at the farm. Well equipped and clean. Owner was a delight to work with and quick to respond to any questions. Lots to explore and enjoy on the farm. We really didn't want to leave, but we were close to St Louis and spent time at Six Flags. Enjoyed exploring Grafton and Alton. So many great places to eat. This was a family trip to introduce our new foster, and hopefully soon adopted, granddaughter to the entire family. So it is a trip we will remember.

Great (quiet) weekend getaway

Perfect place

The house was incredible we kept finding new charming things around every corner and it was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. It was the perfect place to relax and celebrate our friends before the day of their wedding. There is so much to do all around the property. Incredibly memorable and scenic location.

Gramma Lois’ 100th Birthday Party!

We have stayed in several Vrbos and the Grafton Getaway Farmhouse is by far the best equipped one ever! There was nothing we needed that wasn’t supplied!
