Family House on Lake Murray is located on Sunset Point. Sip a cool beverage or a hot toddy depending on when you visit while enjoying the swing on the back veranda. The family home provides an open floor plan that includes family, dining & kitchen space with 22' ceilings, fireplace and expansive views of the lake. The back porch spanning the full length of the house provides tons of outdoor living space. 5 bedrooms have king size beds and private bath and the 6th bedroom has 4 built in bunk beds and its own private bathroom. Outstanding views of the lake from the open great room and Master bedroom as well as 3 bedrooms on the second floor. Outdoor fire pit is perfect for chilly nights. Home is on cul-de-sac street and off a dead end street so it’s very quiet and private. The house is 1 mile from the entrance to Timberlake Country Club. It's perfect for large families or couples who require private bathroom space.

Trash pick up is every Monday morning. Please make sure all trash cans are out by the end of drive way (opposite side of mailbox) before Monday morning.
Recycling pick up is every other Monday. If you have any questions, please contact the host. Directions and dates for pick up are on the kitchen counter
All trash in trash bins should be in bags. All recycling are to be loose and not in bags. County will not take recycling binds if bags are in the bins.

Everything about this house is amazing! The owners made it so homie and comfortable. It had everything you need and more! Beware of the swing bed though, it’s so comfortable you won’t get off of it all day!

We had the most amazing week staying here! There is nothing we would change - and will definitely be back! By far the best rental we have ever stayed in: Clean, well-stocked and very spacious. It had everything we could need. Everyone had plenty of space to themselves and also plenty of room to gather comfortably. Sunsets and stars were amazing! Thank you Tom & Angie!!

Amazing Home

We rented this home to celebrate our son that goes to USC Birthday! The entire weekend was amazing. The home is absolutely gorgeous & the owners were super sweet & accessible when I had questions! The beds were all very comfortable & the towels were not the cheap rental ones! We will definitely try to rent it again!

Excellent! The Nykamp’s have outdone themself with all the personal touches of their lake house. This house has everything you could ever think of. We enjoyed a family graduation celebration. A Dream Stay

We have rented three homes on Lake Murray and never been disappointed; however, Tom & Angie's place is easily our favorite. We all agreed that it's even BETTER than the online listing! The kitchen is, without a doubt, the best stocked EVER - if you want to cook in this kitchen (and we did a lot), you will find EVERYTHING you could possibly need - and you won't need to look long. Host was very responsive. This was truly a great experience, and we hope to visit Tom and Angie's place again.

The perfect house for our family!

Everything was wonderful about this vacation rental! Beautiful home with plenty of room for our three generation family vacation. We enjoyed lots of time on the dock. It was the safe and clean. We swam and enjoyed paddling around the lake. The large, comfortable deck was the perfect place to enjoy watching storms, dining and relaxing. Every member of our family would like to return. Graduation Weekend Stay

This home is absolutely amazing! It's beautiful inside and outside. We had 8 people stay here for my daughter's college graduation weekend...4 nights (2 sets of grandparents, my 2 college aged kids and my husband and myself). Both sets of grandparents were able to have rooms downstairs. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. The house and porch were so spacious that people could all be together, but not feel like we were on top of each other, or we could spread out and have some quiet time. The hosts were very responsive when I had questions....and were very patient with me. We could not have asked for better hosts. The house is equipped with everything you could need....from kitchen supplies to water toys, etc. Everyone enjoyed their time at the house and it made my daughter's graduation even more special. It is about a 45 minute drive into Columbia, but it is an easy drive and went by very quickly. I highly recommend this house for a relaxing stay on a beautiful lake.

Family of 12 Birthday Celebration

Our family gathered together to celebrate my 60th birthday, and the Nykamp Lake House exceeded our expectations! Every comfort was graciously and thoughtfully provided. If you're reading this review, I'm sure the first thing you want to know is the level of cleanliness. You'll have no worries in this house. Every inch is cleaned thoroughly - We didn't have to use our travel housekeeping kit at all. The kitchen had all the cookware and serving ware necessary for our formal birthday dinner party. The appliances are new, clean, and well maintained. Each bedroom has a king bed (except the kids' room) that is unbelievably comfortable! We slept in the principal bedroom on the first floor and were WOWed! My wife is a travel blogger, so we stay in hotels and vacation rentals often. Needless to say the Nykamp's has become her favorite. They provided everything from cardboard to start the fire pit, coffee, cozy lap blankets extra pillows/blankets, handsoap, cleaning products to restaurant recommendations. They were available to answer all of our questions and responded promptly. I can't rave enough about this beautiful home!We will definitely be back and highly recommend this home to anyone looking for affordable luxury, an abundance of space to spend time with your loved ones. The Perfect Christmas gathering

We had a family gathering of 10, ages 1-67, and this house was a dream! Every bedroom was spacious, well appointed, and thoughtfully included its own full bath! The kitchen had tons of pots, pans, serving dishes, eating utensils, cooking utensils, and every appliance you might need. There was plenty of space to have numerous cooks in the kitchen at once, and lots of prep space, while being able to keep an eye on kids in the living area, or being part of the gathering in the family room. We had a few rainy days and made use of the fireplace in the family room, as well as a multifunctional round table in the entryway for playing games (could also be used for dining). The main dining table easily seated 8 adults, and could accommodate adding the provided high chair for our one year old.The back patio is huge, includes a grill, and has several useful spaces for gathering or games, enjoying the fire table, and a swinging porch bed, which the kids loved. The house also included a large metal portable gate that can block off access to the stairs and yard if needed for children or a dog. It was a lifesaver for our little ones.The yard and lake access is wonderful! Three of our party did several polar plunges, while the rest of our party enjoyed the firepit, and playing frisbee in the yard.We also especially appreciated that Tom and Angie had decorated the house for Christmas! We enjoyed having three lovely trees, as well as garlands, and small seasonal touches throughout!

Family Reunion

This house exceeded our expectations! The bedrooms were much larger than we thought and the property is on a great part of the Lake Murray! The water is a bit calmer near the house and the view is incredible. We rented a boat for 4 of the 7 days, which was perfect! We got plenty of time to explore, hang out on Sandy Beach, Wake board and loved seeing all the Purple Martin Birds gravitate to Bomb Island on evening boat cruise. It is a sight to see. The kitchen is fully equipped and the open floor plan on on the main floor makes you feel apart of whatever is going on when cooking. The back porch is inviting (porch swing) a lot of seating and very comfortable. The town of Chapin is close so a grocery store is nearby...but honestly we brought all food with us and had great meals around the large kitchen table. We are an active family and like to walk/run in the am. There are many neighborhoods near by to run/walk and explore however the main road is fine to walk short a mile or two. The wild life is beautiful... birds/ deer/ turtles/ fish. The beds were extremely comfortable and communication of the owners was prompt. We will be going back for sure. Not one complaint!
