About this property
Wakulla Woods Retreat - stunning mountain home, 2 bedrooms with sleeping loft, 2 bathrooms, centr...
Welcome to Wakulla Woods Retreat located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. The name says it all, and this cabin has it all! Wakulla Woods Retreat affords breathtaking year-round views and offering a private, yet not secluded place for your vacation home away from home. This mountain get-a-way offers paved easy access leading to a short gravel/dirt driveway. Whether you are arriving by motorcycle or car, you will feel right at home.
This beautiful log home sleeps 6. As you walk in the front door the first thing you see is the beautiful great room. The main level is an open floor plan that includes a large living room with a stone wood burning fireplace and a beautiful hand carved mantle, and a dining room opening onto the massive outdoor covered porch, perfect for sitting and taking in the view. This level also has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry closet with full-size washer/dryer and large kitchen pantry. Off to the right of the stairs is the master bedroom with king bed and full en-suite bathroom with a jetted tub and separate shower. There are flat-screen televisions in the living room and upstairs bedroom with cable TV and high-speed internet and Wi-Fi. The upper level includes one bedroom with queen bed and full bathroom with shower/tub and a loft bedroom with one queen bed.
Outside you’ll be sure to spend time in the brand new six-person hot tub regaling the day as steaks are cooking on the grill. Spend your evening by the fire pit, a must for stargazers any season of the year! A porch swing is located at the entrance of the home for hours of gliding your cares away.
Please note this is a dog friendly property for dogs 30 pounds or less. It is the guest's responsibility to contact the property manager at Maggie Mountain Vacations as there is an additional non-refundable pet fee per dog, not included in the base rent. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. No cats or other types of pets allowed.
If you’re coming for a long weekend to visit the famed Biltmore Estate, it’s only 35 minutes away. If you’re staying in town and exploring Maggie Valley you can visit the Wheels Through Time Transportation Museum or go skiing at Cataloochee Ski Area or snowtubing at Tube World. If you’re staying for a week (or longer!) to take in the multitude of outdoor activities the area has to offer, this home will not disappoint. Located less than 20 minutes to downtown Maggie Valley, less than 25 minutes to downtown Waynesville, and 6 miles to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this cabin offers a great location in the middle of it all! And hop back out onto 1-40 in just minutes to visit the quaint towns of Black Mountain, Lake Lure, Grandfather Mountain, and Asheville, plus cruising the legendary Blue Ridge Parkway are just an easy drive away.
Gradually inclining paved roads for easy access with a short distance of gravel driveway make Wakulla Woods Retreat appealing for most all types of transportation. We do experience seasonal inclement weather in this region. All-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive and/or snow tire chains would be required in winter weather events.
