Parking was very good, off road, in a private drive. Our pet was very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet and secure. The interior was very clean and well taken care of. The exterior had too many leaves on the property and the shutters on the house were not secured and constantly banged against the house.

Steve, Thank you for the feedback. Just as a reminder you did rent this cottage in the off-season, Regarding the leaves, there are several trees that surround the property and our landscaper was waiting until all the trees dropped their leaves and then we were hit with a number of snow storms which delayed the yard cleanup. As for the shutters, This home was built in the 1860's and the Shutters are secured per the requirements of the historical committee in West Cape May. So unfortunately the shutters will make a lot of noise in the winter during a storm. Thanks, Karen
Great Cape May property with close proximity to the beaches, shopping and restaurants. We have rented houses for over 20 years, and you appreciate the little things, a well-stocked kitchen, bikes, beach chairs and organized home. No doubt the sea cottage and its big sister property are a great place to stay.
Absolutely lovely. The level of communication with the owner was excellent and the availability of all we needed to be comfortable was top notch. I highly recommend! We will be returning for sure!!!
My husband and I loved this property. It was close enough to walk/bike to everything but located on a quiet street with lots of privacy. It had everything we needed - the bikes were such a nice perk! Thank you for a wonderful stay, Karen!
We just went for a couple of days to get away in September. I loved the location, very residential and quiet. The place is perfect for two, or two adults with two small children. It was to cold for the beach, but o loved that chairs and an umbrella were provided. Super clean and comfy!
The location is great, just a short walk to Washington St. mall and the beach. Great to have a car port for parking and not using street parking. We had a place to store our bikes and bike rack during our stay. Highly Recommend
We had a wonderful time here! The location is terrific -- a short bike ride to the beach, Washington Street Mall, and so much more. The shed was a great feature, as it allowed us to safely store our bikes (we had brought our own) and a bike trailer for our toddler. The interior of the home was small but well-appointed, and it had everything we needed.
We enjoyed having this house as a base for going off to places around Cape May that enhanced our experiences. Only one glitch: the tv only gave us very basic cable channels, although we were mostly out and about.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the feedback. The reason why the TV channel selection was reduced was because at the time of your reservation we were still technically in the off-season. Starting Memorial Day weekend is when the channels will increase.
The house's location is great and within walking distance of bars, restaurants, and beach. It was very well cleaned before we arrived. The only downsides were no cable TV or streaming alternative, and the outdoor canopy and table/chairs were missing, which differs from the photo we saw before booking.

Casey,
Thanks for your review.. the reason for the reduced cable and the missing awning is because you rented during the off season. In season which starts Memorial Day weekend. Full cable will be back along with the awning.
Thanks,
Matt & Karen
Lovely, clean , comfortable cottage in quiet residential area, in a great location to everything. Had a little difficulty with electronic door lock, but became easier . Only suggestion- a few more cereal bowls and small glasses.

Hi Roger and Dottie,
Thank you for your review. I actually recent purchased small glasses to put into the cottage. I’m sorry I hadn’t noticed the lack of cereal bowls but will certainly have a look and add some.
Thanks,
Karen
We love west Cape May and this property ticked all the boxes. Perfect for a couple and a dog. Ideally located and just what we needed - good kitchen, dining area and living room space. There was a bit of noise from the neighboring rental (toddler running, evening loud talking). Playing white noise/soft music easily covered it. We are early to bed and early to rise so we have no expectations that others keep that schedule.
It was very clean. The place was very dark. Windows are covered with shrubs and bushes. You need lights on inside, on a sunny day. Windows open very little, windowsills are very dirty and no air can come through due to shrubs, so it is necessary to keep the air on even when it is cool
outside.
My husband and I, along with our two dogs, had an another great stay at Sea Turtle Cottage. We have visited Cape May about 9 times total over the years. We love this cottage and would not want to stay anywhere else with our pets! The cottage is tucked back from the main house with private entrance and parking via a quiet alley. It’s just a couple of blocks from Wilbraham Park (perfect for doggie walks) and Mike’s Pancake House (very dog friendly breakfast/lunch). The amenities at Sea Turtle Cottage are superb. King bed, cable, wireless internet, Keurig machine, washer and dryer (with pods and dryer sheets) just to name a few. The living room was even pre-fitted with padded doggy furniture protectors. The property’s owner, Karen, was very easy and professional to work with. Questions answered promptly via cellphone and text. Book your next stay in Cape May at Sea Turtle Cottage. I know we definitely will!

The cottage is adorable. Very small and cozy, probably best for 2 people, but can sleep 4. The location is in a quiet part of town, which we liked, and pretty close to the beach. This is not a lone cottage. It is attached to another cottage, and in the backyard of a larger home. The owners do a great job keeping the 3 buildings private from one another. I don't think anyone else was in the attached cottage, so I can't speak on whether noise would be an issue, but the cottage we rented and the patio/backyard that comes with it, were very isolated from the other areas. The covered patio is very large and nice for sitting under to eat outside or simply just relax. Loved the carport for you to park your car under, very spacious. We were required to let our small dog relieve himself in the alley near the carport, not in the backyard, and that was not at all a problem. Worked great for us. Some things I wasn't thrilled with: Upon arrival, there was an obvious mess dripping down the front of a lower kitchen cabinet. I mentioned this to the owner when we were leaving and she said we should have told her this when we arrived. True, but we didn't because, after a long drive to get there, we didn't want to have to wait even longer for the mess to be cleaned up. It should have been taken care of before our arrival. The floors were not the cleanest either. They should be mopped between tenant stays. That said, it's still a cute place and we'd consider coming back again.

Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry for the issue with our cleaning service. But I will say that this particular instance was the 1st and only time that we had an issue this entire season. Our floors are mopped in between each guest and that spill on the cabinet absolutely should have been wiped up before your arrival. I’m not sure what 3 building that you are referring to. There are only 2 cottages at this property. Both have their own private fenced yards, patio area, and parking. And you could have let your dog relieve themselves in the fenced yard we just ask that you pickup after your pet with the bags that we provide.
There was a large closet and chest of drawers. We would have preferred to have two nightstands, instead of just one.
Kitchen: There is very little space to store food, outside of the refrigerator. The drawer for knives, spatulas, etc. is small; there should be a knife block to store knives. There was no paring knife or bread knife. We found a pizza cutter without a safety guard in this drawer, which was a hazzard. There was a good selection of pots and pans, dishes and glasses and cups.
Indoors everything was very clean. The outdoor furniture with cushions was left under the drip line of the awning and was wet and dirty. Stacked chairs for the outside dining table were very dirty and needed to be cleaned before use. The outdoor area could have been prepared better for guests.
These are minor complaints. We enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood and the area are lovely.

Hi Eric,
We appreciate your feedback. I apologize for the outside patio area. At the time of your reservation we were still technically in the off-season and the awning had just gone up for the season and we were unable to get there to organize/cleanup the space before your check-in. I also appreciate the feedback on the kitchen space.
Thank you,
Karen
Cozy retreat, easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops
Peaceful, relaxing & comfy cottage for our Thanksgiving weekend getaway and perfect for our pooch, too. Especially enjoyed our many walks through neighborhood streets with wonderful old Victorian homes on the way to the ocean and restaurants.
Great location, private and very clean and quaint.
It is small, but that is exactly what you expect. We had a great time and would definitely come back with our dog.
