I am so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay, though by the looks of what you left behind, as well as reports from housekeeping and nearby renters, I'm not quite sure that was the case. I’m not sure where to begin. First of all, you broke all major house rules from the get go and should have been asked to leave the property with no refund, per our house rules. You had a party with 12 adults in the house. Per our listing, we are a family home and limited to 6 adults. Furthermore, we have stated clearly that parties are not permitted in our home. Carriage house renters reported a party while you were there. Despite our phone call prior to your arrival reminding you of these house rules, you broke them all and also sought revenge in our opinion. We cannot control if ac or something goes out during someone’s stay, but we always have someone there to make a repair and replace if needed the same day when something happens. If not, we make things right. Furthermore, we do regular maintenance on the house. The day you arrived we afforded you an early check-in and you reported that the downstairs wasn’t cooling and that one of the toilets wasn’t flushing properly. We had both ac tech and plumber out within hours to have both up and running immediately. We also gave you a $200 credit to apply towards dinner for the inconvenience. That’s when housekeepers also informed us of the large group and rowdy group arriving. We had problem after problem after our phone call conversation. During your stay (again 12 + adults), a 2nd toilet was reported to be clogged. The same plumber went out and reported that he had to push through and pull out lots of feminine products. He also sent photos of what was in the trash can. Someone in your party also cracked another toilet that had to be replaced (we think a drunk heavy person had to have fallen on it to have broken it that way), removed a faucet handle, used permanent markers on the coffee table, ripped a toilet paper handle off, heavily stained sheets and towels, trash/confetti/glitter scattered all over the house, etc. Rather than taking the entire $1500 damage deposit., we only took enough to cover the cost of the cracked toilet replacement and additional housekeeping fee. Since your departure, we have also learned that our pool alarm wire was cut. Housekeeping didn’t report this at check-out, so we do not have proof that it was your party. At any rate, we have since made repairs and wish you the best! We only ask that you and your guests please do not ever rent our home again. Sincerely, Sarah and Andy
