❤️ Romantic Couples Retreat in the country❤️Farm Stay

Leave the hustle and the bustle of life behind and come to our 50 acre third generation family farm to find peace and quiet . We invite you to stay in our daylight basement apartment, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch while taking in the breathtaking views of beautiful farmland all around you. In the comforts of your very own apartment, you will have a queen bed with all linens provided, a walk in shower, where we provide you with towels and washcloths.
We know you will appreciate the fully stocked kitchen with all the pots, pans, plates, dishes and silverware you could need to make your meals. We are excited to tell you that there are a pair of front loading washer and dryer in the apartment that you may feel free to use during your stay with us. In the living room you will be able to kick back and relax on our love seats and enjoy our smart tv with lots of options for you ( we also have local cable with lots of channels to choose from). Also you will find an electric fireplace to add a romantic environment to your evening. We invite you to stroll around our property and visit our farm animals (we have baby lambs and goats we will allow you to see and hold in February-end of March). We also have a beautiful creek flowing through our property that we allow you to enjoy sitting by and relaxing .
If you are traveling and would like to do some other sight seeing, we have many tourists spots within a 30 minute drive of our place. Here are a few that we suggest.
Hershey Park, Hershey chocolate World, Hershey Gardens, Dutch wonderland, Middle creek wildlife preserve(snow geese in February), Green Dragon Farmers Market (open Friday’s only), Sight and Sound Theaters, American Music Theaters, Indian Echo Caverns, Historic Ephrata cloisters., Cornwall Iron Furnace. A cute little town of Mt Gretna (known for the Jigger ice cream shop) is only 20 minutes away. We are a quick five minute drive from the coolest small town, Lititz featuring lots of street shopping, brewery’s, pubs , and the famous Wilbur Chocolate. Right down the street from us is Fox’s Creamery which was voted PA’s best ice cream.
If you are into kayaking there is a lake about 5 minutes from our house. We also have bicycles that we would be happy to rent to you for a ride in farm country.
If you are into fresh fruits and vegetables in summertime, we have many local produce stands within a short distance of our property.
As you can see, there is plenty to see and do while you enjoy your stay here on our farm. We invite you to come and make your self at home. We would love to meet and talk with you, if you are comfortable with that, but if you would prefer a quiet stay to yourself we honor that as well. We live on the property, so we are only a phone call away and will be available to help in anyway that we can.
We are new to Vrbo, but not hosting.

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Put all dirty bedding and towels in laundry room. Put bathroom trash in kitchen trash and tie bag shut.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please use the laundry basket in bedroom closet to place all the dirty bedding and used towels in the laundry room before you leave.
We appreciate when you wash and dry your dirty dishes and return them back to the cabinet you found them in
Please empty bathroom trashcan into kitchen trashcan Check out is 10am sharp. Our cleaners arrive immediately.

Recuperation

I arrived directly having been discharged from hospital after serious surgery. I was in need of rest and recuperation. This property answered all my needs and more . It was immaculate, well equipped , exceptionally clean with wonderful views of the Pennsylvania farmland. Even more importantly our hosts were charming , and treated us like members of the family which from grandmother to the youngest son made us feel at home. We would love to return to this home from home.

Perfect short getaway

To start, you'll want to pull into the second driveway, that's where the apartment entrance is. The dogs are very friendly, one likes to talk a lot.The hot tub is up on the concrete between the garage and the house.The apartment is beautiful inside, clean and very cozy. They have a roku attached to the TV, so that's excellent.The bed is very firm, which was a little tough to sleep on but that's a personal opinion, many might prefer it.The shower is very nice, however I highly recommend putting a towel down at the foot of the shower and be careful as you end up with a lot of water splashing and it could be slippery.The kitchen range is very nice and works well and the the grill worked well enough to get the job done, it took a bit to get the right side burner to get going but didn't really negatively effect cooking time.The area is wonderful, peaceful and there are pigs and goats to visit right next to the apartment.The border collie loves the yellow ball, so make sure you play catch with her before you go.The place was easy to get too, and once we figured out it was the second driveway it was all good.A nice romantic getaway, quiet inside and out with a nice hot tub and the location is close to Hershey and Mt. Gretna.There is a pond only a few steps from the apartment that due to the weather we didn't get to enjoy but it certainly looks amazing and I think we might be back just to try it out!Certainly well worth the price.

Sarah is a wonderful host! She has seen to every detail of the rental. A comfortable, cozy bed, luxurious bath towels, and provides just about every item you need to use her kitchen. You don't have to dine out. Parking is easy. Please take advantage of her offer to feed the lambs and cuddle a goat. And she is a great storyteller. Ask her about the farm. She thinks of everything.

Exceptional country farm stay

Beautiful farm apartment, with all the animals (& smells of a farm, just like we like. True country. Apartment is lovely & spacey for the two of us with many items we brought just in case available for use from host! Large refrigerator for all the local produce & items! We will miss all the animals, especially our daily visits from the cats & dogs. Lovely countryside away from majority of tourists. We will be back!

Perfectly peaceful

We were looking for a nearby getaway and found it at this beautiful farm walkout apartment. Everything we needed was provided. We loved the peace and quiet and the location was centrally located to the places we wanted to visit. Sarah is friendly and helpful and thought of every detail and keeps it immaculate. There is a big property to explore with a beautiful pond and a harmful of critters. We opted to just snack here and try the local restaurants, but there is a kitchen stocked with appliances to prepare meals. The gardens are beautiful too. It was just the get away we needed.

Lovely stay.

Clay View Farm Inn is a restful and beautiful place to stay. I was visiting my elderly father at Cornwall Manor. It was nice to have a place to cook for myself and be near to Cornwall. The hosts are welcoming and available and have created a thoughtful comfortable place to stay. I appreciated the hospitality and also getting to see the farm animals.

Hoped for a relaxing getaway... got SO much more!

WOW! This place was even more beautiful than the photos! It was spotless, fully stocked (they have Keurig), and the bed was super comfortable… and we're picky! The hosts were very friendly, attentive, and fun conversationalists. Their animals all came to greet us on arrival which was an unexpected treat. The dogs and cats wanted to immediately play and one dog brought a toy for us to throw. We often walked over to the barn to see the sheep and goats, and we were able to bottle-feed baby goats several times and see newborn kittens. This made these city slickers SO happy! Our hosts provided everything we needed and more (they were attentive to every need/request and gave us great recommendations on places to eat and visit). We had delicious pastries waiting for us along with a sweet welcome card, and freshly picked flowers. There is so much to do within driving distance including Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and of course Amish country... but you could just stay for the pond, stream, farmland, and gorgeous sunsets on the property. We left feeling peaceful and refreshed. Can't wait to come back to see all our new friends.

Romantic Getaway

This is a excellent getaway for 2. Photo's is 100 % accurate,very beautiful relaxing place for a couple .Everything is as they say including full stock kitchen,which the delicious donuts they left for us was a nice touch.Enjoyed that they open their barn to us where we could observe baby sheep and adult sheep and goats.Great location just minutes from many things to do.We enjoyed our stay here and will return for another stay.

Peaceful farm stay

The apartment is lovely. Sarah clearly cares about the quality of the guest experience, and includes personal, welcoming touches. The views from the apartment are beautiful, too. One note for guests who may be sensitive to sound while they sleep--traffic is infrequent, but the sound carries through clearly to the bedroom, so you might wish to bring a sound machine. All-in-all a great place for a couple of quiet days away!

Why they chose this property

Our property is a third generation family farm, where we love to make our guests feel welcomed. Our hope is that you will awake to the beautiful sunrise, enjoy your cup of coffee while soaking in the amazing views of farmland. Throughout the day you will be able to walk around the property to enjoy the many flower beds, the creek that runs through the property, as well as getting to see the sheep, goats, cats and dogs that call our farm home . In the evening, you can cozy up on the couch with the electric fireplace on and watch some tv or you may choose to sit on the porch and enjoy watching the sunsets or the stars. We know you will find plenty to love and enjoy here.

You will have your own private daylight basement apartment. Lots of perks of home can be enjoyed here as well.
We would love to meet you, but we are respectful of how much or how little you would like to interact.
We live in property, so we are only a phone call or text message away.
