Inviting Waterfront Cottage on Cedar Creek

Come unwind in this comfy cottage right on the water. Situated on a 2 acre wooded lot, this colonial home offers peaceful seclusion and unbelievable water views from every room. This 1930’s cottage has modern updates and plenty of room, with two large bedrooms downstairs and a delightful bedroom suite upstairs. Restaurants and shopping await in the historic town of Onancock, only a 5-minute drive or boat ride away. Private dock for swimming and fishing, two kayaks available for guest use.

The Property: Home is situated right on the water. The front living room has 180 degree views and floor to ceiling windows that bring the water right to you.

Outdoor space has a fire pit with comfy seating around it, dock with a large sundeck for lounging and fishing. You are welcome to crab and fish off the dock. Kayaks, paddles and life jackets are also provided.

Boats at the house: You are welcome to tie up boats at the house dock during your stay. The dock is suitable for boats up to about 20' in length and the MLW is 3'. Guests must use their own judgement and assume all risk from mooring boats to the dock.

Boat trailers: Guests can park boat trailers at the Onancock Wharf or for free at a town lot right next to the wharf. The house's driveway is narrow and curvy and is not suitable for boat trailers.

Additional Notes: The location is rural and waterfront so please bring sunscreen and bug spray. As a security measure, the house has a motion sensor camera at the front door.

Pets allowed with a pet fee. Please add your pets to the reservation if bringing them.

Liability Waiver: You understand that swimming and the use of the dock and kayaks is at your own risk. No diving off the dock is allowed and all persons using the kayaks must wear life jackets. You accept full responsibility for any accidents and bodily injury arising from swimming and use of the dock and kayaks you may incur.

We came down for a family reunion. This was our first VRBO and it was excellent!! Everyone loved going out on the kayaks and just enjoying all of the nature and quietness.Will stay here again, but for longer than just 2 nights!

Perfect. Adorable home on the water. Amazing views, great dock. Has everything you need. Convenient to historic Onancock shops and restaurants. We loved everything about the home. Host was amazing! We have stayed at a few rentals in the area and this is my favorite! Hope to be able to stay again!

My wife and our two boys and I spent a week at the Creek House. It was a lovely place to relax, fish, kayak, and dig into a good book. Town is a quick drive away and has everything you’d need. We would book with Meg again.

Beautiful waterside property

We loved staying here. The property and yard were beautiful with a brand new dock and private beach for the kids to make sand castles at low tide. The house was clean and well equipped.

It was a very cute home with a lot of character and a beautiful view of the water. The downstairs bathroom wasn't the cleanest, but the one upstairs was fine so we just used that. It had an old house smell, but I suppose there isn't much that can be done about that. None of that really impacted our stay, though. It was very relaxing, a fair price and a great location halfway between Cape Charles and Chincoteague. I would stay there again.

Cute cottage with a beautiful view.

It was like a weekend at grandmas house. This charming cottage has a nostalgic feel that made our stay cozy. The beds are very comfortable which is always important to us. The view overlooking the water is beautiful. It was perfect for what we needed for a weekend stay. Short drive to town where we enjoyed meals at Corner Bakery, Maurice’s and Mallards.

Quick getaway

Meg is a wonderful host! Exceptionally clean house, beautiful views, easy to access, quick response. Just bring food and some wood for the fire pit and your golden! Would 100% come again.

Overall the stay was okay. There were some small cleanliness issues (window between dining room and sunroom). There is black mold coming through ceiling in half bath upstairs (and this may be why we were all congested when waking up). Clear maintenance issues have not been addressed…. Walkway to side entrance is dangerous, lawn and yard work not attended to, front burner on stove not working, refrigerator drawer missing. Water at home was not palatable and smelled and tasted of iron/metal. Twin beds on second floor creak/squeek excessively when turning during sleep. Lots of left over spices, old honey, sticky bottles of oil, and chicken livers in freezer…. that was a little gross. Driveway and walkway was growing in and bushes need trimmed back (scratched side of my car). Gutters clogged with pine needles and leaves causing spillage of water during rainstorms at entrances. Pictures of the home do not match actual state today. Linens were clean and AC systems worked well. Overall we had an okay trip but the home needs maintenance and compared to other rentals we have had in the area, this was not in as good of shape.

Charming house on the river

Exactly as advertised. Very comfortable home. Fully equipped and very clean. Beds comfortable. We enjoyed the pier for fishing and the fire pit for roasting s’mores. The house was wonderful to work with.
