So glad you enjoyed your visit! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
We needed a place for several weeks while work was being done on our home, and the Onley Bungalow was perfect. We loved the quaint, quiet town, and it was close to so many places to explore, from Chincoteague to Cape Charles. Absolutely everything we needed for our stay was provided. And there's great biking everywhere. This was our first VRBO and we are impressed with this one and the service.
Mark was an amazing host and the love for his home shows as soon as you walk in the door!
My niece and I stayed here as I wanted to experience the Virginia eastern shore as we are from Baltimore. The cottage is charming, cozy, very clean, comfortable and well taken care of. We loved the sun porch and backyard. We will be back next year for sure!
This beautifully cared for, 100 year old home, is exactly what I have been searching for in a beach vacation home. The downstairs rooms are spacious and light-filled with beautiful hardwood floors. The sun porch is a cozy place to curl up with a good book, and swing on the porch swing. The queen bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable, and the other two bedrooms can accommodate up to 6 people on twin beds, so there is plenty of space for a family and/or friends.
When we arrived, the house was spotless and excellently cared for. I was here attending a conference with a group of colleagues who kept thanking me for arranging this lovely stay. The owner, Mark Mears, was kind and responsive to any questions I had and he was a superb host.
I would love to return with my family in the future. Anyone who appreciates the craftsmanship of historic homes, will love this house.
The rental was perfect for a group of friends on a cycling trip. Mark was very responsive and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed the backyard firepit. The neighborhood was quiet. The bedrooms are not fancy but are comfortable. We really enjoyed all the common space downstairs including a very nice enclosed patio.

Our visit to Onley
My sister, her husband and myself (all 70+) came to Onley for my brother’s funeral. We drove through very challenging weather from Ian. One of our party couldn’t get here due to a cancelled flight. (I thought a hurricane might warrant a reduction in fees)
Several things could have made our stay a little easier, like post-it notes on cabinet doors saying where things are (like towels and dish rags) , a post-it on the TV saying there is no cable or live TV, some instructions on the portable dish washer (we ended up washing dishes by hand), a post-it explaining there is a remote for the kitchen light. The upstairs bath and shower is treacherously slippery with no mat and badly in need of caulking. The nonfunctioning bidet is gross. We then used the downstairs shower only to find the shower head is directed onto the wall, not on the person showering, though all of us tried to redirect it.
All that being said, the kitchen was well stocked, house was clean, beds were comfortable, and we were close to where we needed to be. The deck looked inviting, but it was raining most of the time.
Very happy with vrbo. The owners were very responsive to any questions/concerns. The location worked well - was an easy driving distance to ask the places we wanted to visit
We had a wonderful stay in Onley. This comfortable house is a perfect location to explore the Eastern Shore. The house was very clean and the host had thought of everything (and more) to make our stay a great one.
Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our short visit to VA. Beautiful historic home, very well maintained and lots of little details to make us feel at home. Mark was great to work with; quick to reply and very accommodating.

Perfect central location to area sights. Bungalow exactly as described. Charming. Nicely equipped. Will return. Loved our stay.
This 100 year old house was a quirky delight. Very clean, freshly painted, comfortable beds, responsive owner. Plumbing clearly retrofitted later in house's life, no dishwasher, but kitchen otherwise well equipped. Tons of common area space, great glassed porch, & spacious yard. Would rent it again.
Excellent experience at the Onley Bungalow. Very responsive and wonderful host. Dreamy historic home, would be a great place for family summer vacations! Great stay!!
The Olney Bungalow is a charming, clean, centrally located home to work or explore at the Shore. It had most everything we needed and it is clear the owner's have made it their mission to make the Bungalow a great place to stay. We were in the area to work on a property we bought nearby. We were able to come back after a long day of work and cook, relax and get a good night's rest. I had a few questions during our stay and the owners answered almost immediately to help me out. I would definitely stay here again.
The calm and peaceful home was perfect. Our trip was not as fun as most may be but this home great. The Beach vibe and colors were very relaxing. We managed to lock out self out of the house and the owner responded right away. I will book this property again!
We used this adorable cottage for our home base while exploring the VA part of the delmarva. Everything about the house was well described and accurate.
We had a very good time in Onley, VA. It was a quiet area but close enough to visit Cape Charles and Chincoteague. Good amenities and communication with the owner.
