Perfect stay in Old Forge in the Adirondacks!

The house was perfect for our whole family. It had all the amenities you could need while still having the rustic feel of a cabin in the mountains. Beds were comfortable and the fire pit area was a perfect place to hang out each night. Checkin was seamless and owners answered any questions we had. We would definitely stay there again.

Family time

Spent the week with family and this house was perfect for us. Plenty of room and a great gathering space on the first floor. The deck is amazing! Owners very quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend!

Amazing home!

This home was perfect! Our family had an amazing time here. We had everything we needed and more. The home was spotless upon arrival. Lots of games and activities. Needs a refresh. Kitchen faucet about to fall apart. Cabinets need to be cleared of previous visitors stuff left behind. Get the cutting board out of corner and out where you can use it.

Lovely home

Perfect house for us - 2 families. Beautiful house. Clean. Kids loved the game room - played cornhole and ping pong. We’ve been coming to Old Forge for years and years. 1st house that has provided bedding, towels, household items (paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc etc). Homeowner responded quickly to texts. Good time had by all!

Great property!

Clean and up to date. Kitchen was fully stocked and many extras left behind by other guests which was very helpful for in house dining. Great location too! Only cons were that the climate control was not adjustable and many rooms were very cold at night and the driveway was very steep and could not pull our boat in. But both issues were not that big of a deal. Overall, a great place to stay!

Thanks for sharing your experience Kristina. We found the thermostat less than optimal too and as a result replaced it with a new Honeywell unit. The new stat is simple to use and complements to new heater we installed this spring. I've updated the listing to include a comment about the steep driveway. Backing a boat or our snowmobile trailer up the driveway requires a full size truck or SUV with a two stage transfer case. I use 4WD low when backing a tow vehicle up the hill. When considering our purchase, we found the view above the treetops the hill afforded us outweighed the driveway pitch. We appreciate your thoughts Kristina!

Very nice cabin

Clean and modern cabin. Good location close to both Old Forge and Inlet. We’ve stayed at a lot of places and this was much more modern and felt like a true home with fully stocked kitchen and really bedding.

All the comforts of home

A great place to stay that includes all the comforts of home. The owners are responsive and answered questions right away. It’s great being so close to the tourist part of Old Forge, yet feeling like you are far enough away to enjoy quiet time with family/friends. Would recommend and stay again.

We had an amazing 5 days. The house is beautiful and exactly what we needed for our group. The location is perfect. Close to town, but quiet and peaceful. The house had everything we needed to completely enjoy ourselves and really make it a memorable family trip. Sean and Linda are fabulous! Sean was kind, helpful and easy to work with. Their property manager Leann was also wonderful to deal with. We found that the grill had run out of propane and Leann helped us immediately. We are so grateful for an amazing stay and hope to return in the future!

Beautiful property

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. It was easy to find and close to town. I liked that it was on a dead end street so our family could go for walks. The driveway is very steep but we had no issues coming to going. Access to the private beach was a huge plus for a family with young children and the water was warm. We had nightly fires in the fireplace and the kids loved the bunk beds. Everyone was clean and neat when we arrived. We plan to be back again!

Great Home for a Family Vacation

This home was everything advertised and more. I went with a large group for a family trip and there was more than enough space for everyone to relax and sleep. The home was beautiful and very clean. Check in/ check out process was seamless and communication with Al was great as well as he checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.

loved everything about the property. there was only one window with a screen on it on the lower level. would of liked to open some more windows on the lower level. all the upper bedrooms had screens on them. love that cool air at night.

Sean and Linda live in Manasquan, NJ, have four grown children and two grandchildren(so far!) We love the beach and boating in the summer; snowmobiling in Old Forge in winter right from our camp.

Why they chose this property

We've been snowmobiling in Old Forge for 17 years, starting in hotels first and later renting homes for the season. We often dreamed of having our own place. Considerations for the perfect property were that it had to have a two car garage, have direct trail access, be close to town, sleep a bunch of people, and have a great fireplace. When we saw this listing on ADK by owner in December of 2000, we contacted the owners immediately and contracted to buy it two weeks later. It was love at first sight. From the moment we walked into the kitchen, the home grabbed and held us. Waht we saw in pictures couldn't have prepared us for the energy, excitement, and warmth we felt. We knew immediately this home was special and that we would enjoy years of memories with our family and frineds. It's our home away from home.

What makes this property unique

It's hard to explain the feeling of having arrived in a place that for us washes away all of the busyness of everyday life and replaces oit with wonderment and tranquility. The views from the loft and the deck are awesome in every season. It welcomes you with embrace of the dearest fo friends. The kitchen is well stocked with ever appliances and cookware. The Blackstone grille is perfect for everthing from breakfast favorites to hot dogs and hamburgers to steaks and chops. Cornhole, dart board, ping pong, and poker table as well as a variety of board games and puzzles provide activities after the sun goes down or when playing at home is your idea of fun and relaxation that day.
