Welcome to Bluegill Lake Cabins, a peaceful East Texas getaway nestled on 22 private acres surrounded by pine trees, ponds, and nature. Our cozy rustic cabins are thoughtfully spread out across the property to give guests privacy, space, and a relaxing country atmosphere while still feeling welcoming and comfortable.



Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, family vacation, fishing trip, or simply a quiet place to unwind, Bluegill Lake Cabins was created to help guests slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the outdoors. Spend your mornings sipping coffee on the porch while listening to birds and frogs around the ponds, afternoons fishing, kayaking, canoeing, or exploring the property trails, and evenings relaxing in your private hot tub or gathered around the fire pit under the East Texas stars.



Guests are welcome to enjoy the property’s canoes and kayaks while exploring the ponds and soaking in the peaceful scenery. Such a clean, peaceful getaway! We grilled, fished, kayaked, played games, and enjoyed all the wildlife—we saw deer, rabbits, squirrels, birds, turtles, and even a snake! My husband and son especially loved the fishing!It does sleep 10, but the loft is a little steep, so I’d recommend it for kids 6. If you’re cooking for a big group, bring a few disposable aluminum baking pans or large baking sheets. There are plenty of pots and frying pans.The water was pretty low during our stay (of course, no fault of the owners), and the owners were very pleasant. Overall, a fun and relaxing family getaway!

This was exactly what it shows a rustic cabin. I couldn’t be happier and the communication was Awsome. The even set the cabin up for a romantic weekend for me and to say I was impressed was an understatement. I can’t thank them enough.

NYE Getaway - Hideaway!

This was just an excellent quiet cabin getaway hideaway! Perfect for a nice cozy warm cabin to do nothing at all but sleep walk the property and be completely lazy! Our dogs had a wonderful time roaming the woods! Wonderful bed, hot tub and large sectional. We ended up going to Tara Winery for a wine tour and NYE dinner near Athens. You all need to check it out if you enjoy wine tasting. The pond/lagoon is not necessarily perfect for anything, but the one closer to entrance is definitely filled up. However we did not go for that. This place is perfect to read a good book, have much wine, walks in the woods, and decompress from the world. Highly recommend!

End of summer getaway/birthday

The stay was really nice despite the heat. The hosts were very nice and easy to communicate with. We were able to gosh in multiple ponds and utilize their paddle boats and kayaks. There were a couple of nit picky things with the cabin such as the handle of the fridge was broken and one of the shelves in the fridge fell out once due to being broken but not really a big deal to us. The cabin was very nice and comfortable for all of us. 5 adults and two teens, the AC worked great, there were plenty of towels. The kitchen was stocked really well for a cabin with utensils, pots, pans, spices, plates, cups, measuring cups etc. it’s rare to find a cabin kitchen this well stocked. Overall we were all really happy with the stay and would recommend it to others. It was a nice break from the busyness of home. There was no cell service for any of us which was great to be honest.
