Welcome to the The Weekender cabin--your adults-only luxury-chic mountain cabin with breathtaking views of Grandfather Mountain, and ideal retreat to get away from it all!

Follow us on the 'gram @TheWeekenderNC

The sweetest cabin in the heart of high country and the ideal retreat to get away from it all. Although you'll feel remote staying here, the location is PERFECT because it's conveniently & centrally situated with easy access to Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Hawksnest, Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Enjoy our spacious/open floor plan and the breathtaking profile views of Grandfather Mountain.

~THE SPACE~
One-level, one step access (no stairs) for easy-living! Enjoy our entire mountain home to yourself. It's cozy, yet spacious enough for 4 guests very comfortably (1,250 sf). It's rustic--but not too rustic--with touches of modern amenities and fun, creative spaces (we call it "rustic chic"). Our open floor plan and high ceilings make for a spacious feel and a great place to entertain and interact with one another. It's perfect for one couple, two couples, and small families alike. A perfect place to relax and unwind.

Soak in our hot tub (Freeflow Spas 4-person Azure tub), taking in the amazing views of Grandfather Mountain.

The kitchen/great room and dining area opens to a huge deck which spans across the entire back of the house. The gorgeous stone fireplace has been modified to be propane instead of the traditional wood-burning, so it's clean and simple to use with just a touch of a switch.

You'll want to make sure you spend plenty of time our the south-facing rear deck and take in the views. Deck is appointed with comfortable lounge furniture, hammock and propane grill.

Each bedroom has its own bathroom and each bedroom also has its own individual sliding door for access to deck. The primary suite boasts an additional "private" deck for those moments you want to relax and enjoy solitude. Want to relax even more? Slip into the standalone tub in the primary suite and ~relax~ ~soak~ ~dream~ ~breathe~ ~escape~ with a glass of wine, some cheese, and a book on the provided bath caddy.

The kitchen is fully-stocked and equipped. The gorgeous live-edge bar allows seating for 4. The kitchen is appointed with black granite counter tops, and a stainless full-sized refrigerator with ice maker and filtered water dispenser. A coffee maker (Keurig), standard electric stove, toaster oven and small microwave round out the appliances. Feel chore-free after enjoying a delicious meal with clean-up made easy by loading the dishes into the new KitchenAid dishwasher.

The great room boasts a sofa, a love seat by Crate & Barrel, and a coffee table--all anchored by the gorgeous flagstone fireplace.

The dining area shares a space with the great room, and has a view of everything. There is seating for 6, with a rustic wooden table surrounded by four chairs and bench-seating. After mealtime, reach into the sideboard server cabinet adjacent to the dining room table and pull out any number of games or puzzles to while away the hours. We have a Sonos speaker so you can easily stream music from your phone.

Gotta catch up on those work e-mails? Maybe need to pen a friend? We've built a simple, but effective area specifically for that, to the right of the fireplace. Open up your laptop and belly up to the desk and dig in. Need a reliable Internet connection? Check. We have reliable 40Mbps fiber service and have never experienced lags or interruptions. Looking for something interesting to read? We've supplied a small selection of books on the custom-made live-edge bookshelves above the desk.

Need to do some laundry? Well, that's convenient because we've gone the extra mile and outfitted the closet between the secondary suite and bathroom with a fancy new stackable LG washer and dryer set. We also provide a few laundry pods and dryer sheets to get you started.

Both bedrooms and the main room are equipped with brand new state-of-the-art Mitsubishi mini-split systems (they provide both the heating AND cooling all-in-one) which are individually controlled by the wall-mounted wireless thermostats located in each room. That's going to take care of your heating and cooling needs, but if you're looking to augment that just kick on a ceiling fan (each room has one). One box-fan is provided for additional ventilation if needed.

Plenty of storage. Don't like to see all of your groceries laying on the counter due to lack of cabinet space? Solved. Lots of empty cabinet space for that. Staying more than a couple of nights? Each bedroom has nightstands, dressers, and closets.

The bathrooms each have FAR Infrared heaters which are controlled by individual thermostats to provide heat in the winter months, if needed. You'll generally find that those rooms require no additional conditioning the rest of the year.

This is not your typical rental as we go above and beyond, providing our guests with extra amenities they might need during their stay such as dishwasher pods, dish soap, kitchen towels, napkins, paper towels, olive oil, salt & pepper, spices, laundry pods, dryer sheets, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Just bring yourself, some clothes, and a friend or two, and enjoy your stay in our retreat.

~~OTHER THINGS TO NOTE~~

INCLEMENT WEATHER / 4WD, CHAINS REQUIREMENT:
*During the winter months 4WD/AWD and/or snow chains are required to ensure access to the cabin. Please check weather conditions prior to arrival as this is the guest's responsibility. If your vehicle is not properly equipped, THE TOWN OF SEVEN DEVILS MAY DENY ACCESS. Additionally, we do not plow our driveway. There is a snow-shovel and some salt in case it is needed.

CHAIN LAW FOR SEVEN DEVILS: The town has a sign posted at the beginning of Seven Devils Road that advises 4WD, chains, or studded snow tires are required when traveling on Town roads. Whenever travel by motor vehicles on Town streets is hazardous due to snow, ice, or combination of both, the flashing sign shall be clearly illuminated, and the chain law is in effect. A VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE IF CAUGHT IS $150.00. This ordinance can be viewed in its entirety on the Town's website.

We do not provide full or partial refunds for forfeited reservations due to the weather, or if guests are not able to access the cabin, or if guests leave early due to the weather. Please check weather conditions prior to arrival and plan accordingly--this is the guest's responsibility.

STEEP INCLINES
The cabin is located on a mountain and is accessed by paved roads with steep inclines and switchbacks. This is usually the best part of arrival, however please make sure your vehicle can handle this.

TELEVISION/INTERNET
We do not provide any television subscription services, but do provide 3 Roku TV's which allow streaming of your own subscriptions of Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc. via the Internet.

CELL PHONE SERVICE
Cell phone service can be spotty when driving up the mountain to the cabin, please ensure you have directions beforehand in case you have cell phone service issues. Once at the cabin, if you are still having issues, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE OUR WIFI PASSWORD WRITTEN DOWN BEFORE ARRIVAL, and connect immediately to the WiFi from the driveway (WiFi password will be in the electronic manual we will send you). We personally do not experience cell phone service issues at the cabin, and nor do the majority of our guests, but every provider is different, and a few guests have had issues--once they connected to our WiFi, they have been fine.

>>iPhone users may want to configure their devices for WiFi calling ahead of time.<<

CLEANING FEE
The cleaning fee includes basic housekeeping, but also includes hot tub chemicals/maintenance plus removal of trash/recycling--all of which happen after each visit. To keep these fees nominal, we require some very basic items to be completed by guests upon check out. You can read about our requirements in the checkout section.

LOCATION
The Weekender is located in the Seven Devils community which has a mix of full time residents and vacation properties. The home has easy access from the street, and boasts a private setting with wooded lots between neighbors. PLEASE NOTE: we have full-time / year-round neighbors, and voices do carry - so please be respectful of noise and be respectful of hours.

We are the work-hard/play-hard type. We both have corporate jobs out of necessity: We travel a bunch, and the wages we earn are mostly spent on travel. We've been far and wide around the globe! Anything from cruising the Yangtze River in China, to hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and ... who knows ... we've whiled a number of days away in Bali, Indonesia. What we're trying to illustrate is ... if you're looking for world-class treatment, look no further.

We were married atop Grandfather Mountain some years ago, so this area has always been special to us. We've always dreamed of owning a cabin in the high country and never imagined we'd own a property with a view of the very place we were married from our own rear deck!

Why they chose this property

You'll be enjoying spectacular and unobstructed views of Grandfather Mountain from the rear deck. It's so close that it appears far; yet it's so close, you can hike the "Profile Trail" and later, marvel your trip from our hot tub. It's no joke, and it's a trip that'll leave you a-braggin'.

What makes this property unique

If you feel like you've no idea what to do on your trip to the North Carolina High Country, we're here for you! Reach out to us, and we're delighted to be your assistant. Try booking with another so-called local 'rental agency' and compare and contrast the personalized service you'll receive. They're "heads-in-beds" ... we're NOT. You'll unquestionably decide to book with us. We're very attached to our property, and this translates to our commitment to ensuring a five-star experience.
