Come Beat the Heat at Asheville Poolside Retreat! Our beautiful pool is open and available for you! It is next to our spacious, second-floor 2BR, 2BA West Asheville rental - perfect for vacationing with children and friends. This brand-new unit - one of three in a house - features a well-stocked kitchen with gorgeous granite countertops, custom cabinets, and new appliances. The living-dining room contains games for children of all ages. It opens onto a deck with a grill, outdoor chairs, and fans to stay cool in the heat. The two bedrooms feature several windows and brand new mattresses. The primary bedroom contains a high-quality, queen-sized bed and opens into a bathroom with a glassed-in shower. The second bedroom contains a double bed with a single trundle mattress. The second bedroom also contains an armchair that can be pulled out into a single bed. We are happy to provide a crib and/or pack n play upon request.
Our private, in-ground pool is 3-to-8 feet deep and is completed with a diving board in the deep end and a small slide in the shallow end. Guests have full use of the shaded deck area, including lounge chairs that provide relaxation for visitors of all ages. Guests using the pool also have the option of cooking on a large grill as kids swim. Guests can use the private, in-ground pool by themselves for twelve hours a day: 9am-9pm.
This rental is a paradise for those seeking privacy and refuge from the outside world. At the same time, it is centrally located: you can walk two short blocks to the restaurants and shops on Haywood Road and the River Arts District, or take a stroll along the French Broad River Greenway. The house is just minutes from downtown Asheville and a short drive to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
We built this house to host families with young children and teenagers, and we are always glad to accommodate requests. We enjoy sharing the luxury of our pool with everyone. Due to City of Asheville requirements, we included long-term housing in the design of the house and currently have two single professionals living in the downstairs units. Our long-term request quiet hours between 11pm and 6am. Talking and playing are not a problem, but if your children tend to be highly active (such as running and jumping) between 11pm and 6am, please contact me before booking this rental. We want to be mindful of everyone's needs as we welcome you to Asheville Poolside Retreat.

About the host
Hosted by Rima Vesely-Flad
We are a family of four (two parents, an elementary school-aged kiddo and a teenager) that has lived at this property for ten years. One host (Rima) is a scholar and writer. We moved to Asheville so that Rima could teach as a professor of ethics at Warren Wilson College. One of us (Ethan) is a non-profit director and consultant specializing in communications work. Both of our kids are in local public schools and enjoy a variety of activities, including swimming in the pool. We rented out our house three years ago and drew many families with young children. Several of these kiddos learned to swim in our pool! We felt so much joy at sharing the pool that we built our vacation rental with the hope of continuing to share our pool. It took two-and-a-half years from envisioning the new building to attaining a certificate of occupancy. And, we just put a new liner. With 22,000 gallons of clear, inviting water and a brand-new, fully-furnished apartment, we are ready to host you!
Why they chose this property
East-West Asheville is a great neighborhood. It is full of dog walkers and runners. You can stroll a short distance to the shops and restaurants on Haywood Road, to the Greenway along the French Broad River, and to the art studios in the River Arts District. We can drive less than five minutes to high-quality grocery stores and pharmacies, and are less than two miles from downtown Asheville. In short, the house is very centrally located. And although it is in the heart of the city, we are never far from the natural beauty of the Pisgahs. We see gorgeous sunrises and sunsets over the mountain ranges.
What makes this property unique
You have full use of our private, in-ground pool for all but 2 hours a day. (During those two hours, you are welcome to swim. Our kiddos may jump in between 4pm and 6pm some days). Our property has one of the only in-ground swimming pools in the city of Asheville. It contains 22,000 gallons of well-maintained water, and features a diving board for big kiddos and adults, and a little slide for small kiddos. A rope divides the shallow end (3 feet) from the deep end (8 feet). Since it is a private pool, kids can play with all kinds of water toys and adults can float on rafts for as long as desired. There is a large grill for your use next to the pool - perfect for picnicking - and a deck with comfortable lounge chairs and a big table snacking and meals. We have put up a canopy for those who want to stay cool in the shade. We also offer recliner chairs for those who want to lay back, sun-bathe, and just relax. The pool is secluded from other properties and generally very quiet. It is truly paradise.
