TLDR Bed broke. Refrigerator was broken. Desk was broken. Ghosted by host. No compensation. Messaged the host to report. She sent two messages at that point that she was out of town, and since it’s Saturday she could try to send a repairman, and the fridge was cold. She also asked if we were injured, and she could give us a small compensation for our trouble. We did not notice the bed was actually broken during the night bc we sleep with a lot of pillows. We are not large people at all, so curiously, we pulled the mattress back and could see the previous repairs. We were not comfortable in the home, and decided at that moment to leave late on Sunday and save our vacation day Monday. It was very inconvenient to have no cold drinks or have leftovers from dining out bc the fridge was broken. There were also gnats, and they were in the fridge and freezer. We let the host know we had left, and followed her checkout instructions. She never responded to any of our messages after her initial response. Not even a thank you, sorry for the problems, and safe travels. We have not received any compensation. I cannot recommend staying at this rental or with this host. I am posting pics
Our family of five stayed here in early June for 3 nights and were very happy with the property. The inside of the house was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was pretty well equipped, but could use a few more glasses and dishes. It’s in a nice neighborhood with lots of mature trees and good privacy. The drive into Asheville is easy. We did need to clean the porch (furniture was covered in pollen), but not a big deal. We’d stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. Everything was clean when we arrived. The kitchen is gorgeous and open to the living and dining area, so it’s a great gathering space. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch out front and the patio with the grill and fire pit out back. The location was central to downtown and other points of interest. We also enjoyed Smokey and the Pig BBQ and Whistle Hop Brewing - both right down the street. I would recommend and stay here again!
We loved the home and the property. Special attention was given to everyday supplies like hand soap, toilet tissue and towels. I highly recommend this home.
Property was great nice privacy. Will definitely vacation again there m!
