This was a great place to stay, would definitely consider staying again! The steps to the front entrance are dangerously slippery after a rainstorm as well as the slate stones that sit on top of pea gravel. I fell on my last trip down loading up the car. Had my arms not been full, I would have no doubt instinctively put them out to catch myself, instead I just fell on my butt and cracked my tailbone.

For anyone staying with us, there is also a side entrance that can be used to avoid the front steps. We have already gotten pricing to replace the decks and are planning to have them replaced this fall and will see what we can do to improve the traction and make that area safer in wet conditions. This was a great spot for our trip. It was a beautiful and quiet property, and was nice to just be about 15-20 minutes from town and Torch Lake. We appreciated the nice s’mores kit the host left and found the house to be generally well-appointed. The beach chairs and towels were very convenient, and there was even an air fryer. Some kitchen staples were hit and miss, such as having no measuring cups or mixing bowls and pans being mostly scratched up teflon, so if you’re planning to cook much you may want to bring those if you’re particular. The host was very responsive and professional. Would recommend for a beautiful and quiet getaway!

If you’re looking for a quiet get away, this is the place. Perfect. We loved the location, still just a short drive from amenities, but far enough away to enjoy the solitude. Marissa was an amazing host and kept us up to date with everything and anything. We can’t wait to head back up there for another stay. The place was very clean and had everything we needed for an amazing time. I want to tell everyone about this place, but I also want to hold back as well. That way I won’t have a problem getting future dates. . Beautiful nature setting for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your place.

If you like a private, spacious, natural setting, this is the place! We enjoyed silent nights by the fire and to sleep. The cabin is within an hour drive of hotspots like Traverse City, Petoskey/Charlevoix, lake, ski and trail riding. Our party had four adults and one dog. We had more than enough space. The common, indoor space is much bigger than I anticipated. The decor is perfect for a cabin in the woods. We all said, “I could live here.” The owners include little details that add to the comforts of the cabin: a reading nook with recliner/lamp/bookshelf, a dvd collection and Netflix at the TV, a fun game/card/puzzle assortment at the six-place dining table, bedside wall shelves for eyeglasses/phones/meds where space limits a nightstand, stainless bowls and a spare leash for dogs (note: your nose would NEVER know this is a dog-friendly rental).The cabin is very CLEAN, FRESH, and WELL appointed with ample towels, kitchen supplies, two coffee options (drip and Kcup), air fryer, crockpot, fridge icemaker, effective mini-split hvac system. Notice that the outdoor covered seating includes closeable screen panels! Plenty of seasoned firewood, marshmallow roasting sticks with graham crackers and marshmallows. Nice!Needs: unless I missed them - bbq spatula and tongs for the grill, a 24 hour response from owner would have helped upon booking - received the automated confirmation of reservation but questions went unanswered until day before arrival.
