The propane fireplace has been capped off so we're not using fossil fuels. Coffee is purchased from a local roasters. The hand and dish soap is locally made by Tamara at the Hobbyist. The Fred Tibbs Building Waterfront Condos is located in the heart of Tofino looking over First Street Dock, where guests have access to a Kayak launch, picnic area and dock. This amazing property features beautiful views of the Ocean Inlet harbour and surrounding mountain range.

The condo is self check in and set up for your independent stay. If you have any questions, Blue Crush is available during business hours.

The Fred Tibbs condo complex is perfectly situated in town and on the waterfront. This allows you to stay parked and stroll through the downtown core of Tofino car free. At the base of the complex is a great little shop called Savary Island Pies which is convenient for morning coffees and snacks.

From Vancouver, the first chapter of your drive is to Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. Enjoy the vista views of the ocean before taking the 1.5 hour ferry trip over to Departure Bay Terminal in Nanaimo.

From the sea side city of Nanaimo, take the quick Inland Highway or scenic Old Island highway, along the coast and its small towns, to the turn off for Port Alberni. Drive through Coombs (Goats on a Roof) and Cathedral Forest Provincial Park. Port Alberni resides at the end of a western fjord with many tourist attractions. This is a great location to pick up gas and groceries.

The last chapter of your drive to Tofino will take you on a scenic winding road past Sproat Lake, and Mackenzie lake. Take a right once you get to the Junction for Ucluelet and Tofino, and tune in to Tofino's local radio station. This wending road takes you through Long Beach Provincial park, into the heart of Tofino.

TRANSPORTATION
To get to Tofino from the mainland, you need to take a ferry to Nanaimo (closest) or Victoria. From there, it's a scenic drive. Anywhere from 3 (Nanaimo) to 5 hours (Victoria). You can also fly into the airport with Pacific Coastal Airlines (the flight is stunning and so quick!) or seasonally, take a float plane from the Vancouver harbour downtown to Tofino harbour downtown.

There is a designated pedestrian path we call the MUP (multi use path) which is safe and has two lanes for walkers, bikers, joggers, strollers - you name it!. We encourage you to use it; it's one of the things that makes Tofino unique. The free Shuttle bus runs during the summer months from town to the info centre. There is a city transit service that runs from Tofino to Ucluelet with limited service. There are a couple bike rentals (pedal bike and e-bike). There is also a local rideshare app called Coastal Rides, our version of Uber (download their app). Tofino Taxi is another option (though only one driver/car). For larger groups, there is Tiki Bus + Pacific Rim Navigators that needs to be pre arranged. There is a Budget Rental car service at the Tofino Airport (also needs to be pre-arranged).
