About this property

4BR Panoramic Beachfront Water Views near Cape May and Wildwood

THE AREA:
This 4br 2 bath unit sits on the top floor of a triplex, suited for families and quiet groups (with two separate additional units on the ground floor). "The Villas" is a small residential Delaware Bay community, 15-20 minutes from both Cape May and Wildwood beaches. The perfect spot for the excitement of Wildwood, the quaintness of Cape May, and the beauty of sunsets on the Delaware Bay.

Although most people head to the beaches for swimming, the small bay beach in front of the house is wonderful for walking, fishing, (small child) wading, and exploring. There are local places to eat, grab ice cream, rent bikes or paddle boards, etc. Or head into the beach towns of Cape May and Wildwood to swim with lifeguards and surf the real waves. 4 Cape May beach tags are available for your use.

INSIDE
Inside, you can hang out and enjoy the view from two large comfy sectionals, a dining table that seats 10, or the breakfast bar with four stools. The kitchen and great room were completely renovated and decorated as of in 2021.

Big sliding glass doors, screens, and windows everywhere allow you to be “out in nature” even when you’re inside. At high tide, it looks like you’re on the bow of a ship! At low tide, you can walk out on the bay halfway to Delaware (ok not quite that far, but it’s wonderful to feel like you’re standing in the middle of the bay). Lots of birds, tons of horsehoe crabs and gorgeous scenery that changes drastically over the course of the day.

Two bedrooms have comfy queen beds, one bedroom has a new king bed, and the fourth has a twin over full bunk. Every bedroom has a water view. Two are small, one is medium, and the other is larger. Pack light and enjoy the views!

The two full bathrooms are newly renovated as well- one is a traditional tub/shower combo and the other is a small glass surround shower.

Fast WiFi and Apple TV (but no cable TV service provided) with a bonus smaller tv in the bunk room if you want to bring and plug in your gaming system.

OUTDOORS
A few beach toys, umbrellas, and many beach chairs are available for use. Outdoor hose/shower, two large picnic tables, new lounge furniture, outdoor games, and huge Weber outdoor grill in generous side shared yard.

Linens and towels are provided. Both grocery stores and CVS deliver right to the house, and there are many takeout food and delivery options. This is a great location where you can have as much or as little interaction with others as you wish.

If available when booking, there is an additional 1 bedroom apartment downstairs- the patio sits right under the upper deck- and on the beach with gorgeous water views. That apartment typically rents for an additional $270/night, but we rent it for $220 to anyone also renting upstairs at the same time. Great set-up for extended family members to connect while having their own space.

Excellent!
This place is serene and relaxing. It is beautifully decorated in subtle beach blues and greys with a family-friendly layout. The four bedrooms with two modern full bathrooms are down one hallway and at the other end of the apartment is the large shared space with high-ceilings, modern kitchen, comfy furniture, and lots of windows. Sliding doors lead to the deck that overlooks the water. A relaxing place to enjoy morning coffee. The location was fabulous with everything 20 minutes or less. Cape May is lovely and we enjoyed the beach, took a relaxing afternoon ride on the Cape May-Lewes ferry, had fun on the Wildwood boardwalk with its amusement park and water rides, climbed the lighthouse, played mini golf and just relaxed in the beautiful, peaceful apartment. We agreed we would all be happy to return.

Beautiful Bay Views
We had a wonderful time staying at Jen’s place. The views are amazing! The property is as close to the beach as you can get, and has views (and windows) on three sides, so you almost feel like you’re outdoors even when you’re inside enjoying the air conditioning. With the windows and sliding doors open, the cross breeze is amazing! And the common room and kitchen area is so relaxing and great for family meals. We enjoyed strolling on the beach and observing the horseshoe crabs and birds, and hanging out on the upstairs deck. Low tide was around 3:30-6pm and got so low you couldn’t walk out probably 500 ft without getting your feet wet (I’m exaggerating, but not by much). The Cape May beaches are about 15-20 minutes away, but easy to get to and park. Jen was a great host and all in all, it was a great private getaway without having to interact with a lot of crowds during COVID.

Beautiful Views, Close to Cape May Attractions.
We spent a week at Jen's place in late June and it was truly a blast. The house has a recently renovated kitchen with brand new appliances and stocked with the essentials. The furniture is new and the decor is a pleasure with unique original artworks - makes one feel really home. The balcony gives you a 270 degree breathtaking view of the bay and it is just marvelous to watch the tide expose the mudflats and then return. Sunsets are divine while sunrises have understated beauty, with flocks of gulls moving swiftly over the pink tidal flats. There are many nature-wise important places that are really close to Jen's place: 1) Higbee Beach: a quiet beach which is great for birding as well as rock-hounding. Look for cape may diamonds there - basically clear quartz polished by the bay over eons. 2) Cape May State Park & Observatory - must visit for birders. Great boardwalk and a wonderful lighthouse to climb. 3) Cox Hall Creek WMA is just 2 miles away - a gem of a park to walk, it was once a golf course, now restored to its natural state. 4) Hereford Inlet Lighthouse - if you are headed to Wildwood beach, do not miss this unique lighthouse and its first class gardens. 5) Cape May Wildlife Refuge/2 Mile Beach - this is the only stretch of Atlantic beach in the area that is undeveloped in pristine state. There are so many things to do in Cape May that week seems to be too short! Another fave activity was running in the Villas community - you can run along Delaware ave till it turns and be back for a easy 5K. 10K is also possible, if you venture further without going to the main road- just a great way to appreciate this quiet neighborhood.

Why they chose this property

Purchased a few weeks into the pandemic, I’ve found so much beauty and peace in this spot. The views are absolutely amazing, the changing landscape and horeshoe crabs are fascinating, and the sunsets are the best on earth.

What makes this property unique

Being so close to the water, the waves kiss the property line at high tide. You can take sunset walks every night and see a different color palette.
