About this property
Perfect lake front cottage! Now with stairs to the water!
Nestled on a private mountain top overlooking Pickwick lake. This cottage was recently completely remodeled and offers the most relaxing stay. This property has beautiful lake views and its secluded spot on the lake, right across from bear creek, will be the perfect lake getaway for a couple or a small family. We have just added stairs down to the water! We also added a dock and a gazebo with amazing views. There are two public boat ramps conveniently located 5 minutes ( less than a mile ) from property.

We really enjoyed staying here. It had everything we needed, clean, comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the outdoor space as well. We would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay the property was very clean, and the views were amazing. This was just what we needed following the busy holiday season. The property owner was very responsive when I messaged her and that was greatly appreciated. We look forward to staying there again during the summer to utilize the river access.
Property is beautiful! Very quaint hideaway. Mrs. Vivieane is a wonderful host and very accommodating. Quick response time on all my questions. Highly recommend this property.
This property is a quaint “a” frame house with a beautiful view of the TN river. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway for a couple or anyone who just wants to escape and be alone. Highly recommended!!!!
The hosts answered immediately, previous review stated not the place for you if you don't care for spiders, that's 100% true. For house cleaning fee, hoped for a little better housekeeping but overall, worth the trip and money.
The view of Pickwick Lake is absolute perfection, especially sunrise. The rental was exactly as described. Clean. We had an issue checking in with the code box. I contacted the owner and she sent someone over immediately. We were in within 20 minutes. Very pleased with our stay! We will stay here again in the future.
This was our first experience with VRBO, and we were very pleased. The cabin was perfect for us two, and our small family gathering. The stairs to the water were a bit more than we expected, but there is a small deck halfway up perfect for a quick rest. The website gave us the wrong address initially, which set us back a bit, but with some prompt communication with the host, it was remedied and we were on our way. Definitely worth it!!
Cabin was excellent. Great boat ramps within couple miles. Be aware the county is a dry county and not much close. The local gas station is closed Monday. Restaurants and stores are about 20 min drive so store up before heading out. Very peaceful and secluded cabin however.
The property was great and the owners were so kind and responsive to my inquiries. If the second bedroom is required, people with difficulty on stairs should take note. We managed fine [over 70 and healthy] Property is very private and not in the hustle and bustle of a nearby town. Our trip was to bring my 98 year old father to see his old camping and fishing grounds at Pickwick Dam. He had a wonderful visit. We would definitely stay again.
This is a great property! We enjoyed so many things about it....the view, the location, the peace & quiet, the coziness--it was all amazing! My husband took the boat and we spent mornings and evenings fishing. It was so quick and easy to get to the boat ramp. We also enjoyed just sitting on the patio and relaxing while watching the river. Had some good steaks and hot dogs from the grill and picked up a quick meal from the nearby cafe.
One afternoon, we took a drive into Tennesse to see the Shilo Battleground and found Hagy's Catfish Hotel nearby for some great food!
Viviane was super nice and easy to work with. We could not ask for a better stay and hope we can come back!
We had a great time! We loved the location and the views! The property was exactly as described. we also read the reviews before booking so we knew about what to expect… if you missed some reviews you may want to know it is secluded (perfect!) away from town (perfect!) you may want to grab your groceries etc before getting there! Also - note there is no closet space (kind of a bummer) and you are the dish washer (which is also fine with me!) the only thing that wasn’t great for us is that we came for fishing … with our boat. Just know - it is not a good place for a boat. There is no turn around area once you enter the drive way so we backed down the drive way with the boat every time. But it worked out and the boat ramp is extremely close! Overall it was fantastic. Small and cozy cabin and I loved the stairs going to the water!! We stayed 4 nights and would have loved to stay longer!
The online pictures were deceptive. Bed looked to be a king but was only a double. There were gnats on the walls, floor, and bed in the upper bedroom. Our son had to sleep on the sleeper sofa. The kitchen had no measuring spoons or cups. There was no dishwasher or washer and dryer. Also the steps down to the water were very steep, uneven, and overgrown with weeds. There were no blinds on the windows next to the pullout sofa so the morning glare woke my son. We won't be staying here again and it was very disappointing to know we had to pay the high rental fee for what we received.
Our stay was fanatastic! We enjoyed the serene small town and enjoyed visiting Florence near by. Waterloo is a small quiet town, so be prepared to entertain yourself with movies and games as well as evening talks as you gaze out across the moonlit Tennessee River. Enjoy coffee to a beautiful sunrise! Lots of nature trails near by. Be prepared with groceries because stores are nearly 30 minutes one way. The host makes checking in easy and responds if you message. The cottage is clean and exceeded my expectations.
The accommodations were wonderful. The property was clean and extremely nice with very thoughtful amenities. The view is spectacular, especially at sunset and the whole place is such a peaceful setting. Cell service is great, but WiFi is also available. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the deck by the water. Would highly recommend.
