My family and I chose this location to retreat and relax and we did just that. It’s was great being so close to the water in this rustic cabin. Overall I would stay here again.
My family and I LOVED our stay at the cabin in Waterloo! It was the best Fall Break vacation! The boys did ALOT of fishing in the boat & from the bank. We afternoon we all went and explored and found a beautiful waterfall! There was a full harvest moon while there, the weather turned cooler but enjoyable! The cabin had all the amenities we needed to prepare meals and everything we needed to sleep comfortably! Mr. Tony was the BEST host! His hospitality was amazing. He always made sure we were ok and that we had everything we needed. He gave the boys options on where to fish and what baits to use and was always willing to help if needed! We could not have asked for a better host and plan to go back asap (hopefully after the school year ends)! By the end of our trip, being there felt like home and we hated to have to leave! We will be back!!! Thank you Mr. Tony for EVERYTHING! Hope to see you again soon!
Tony was very accommodating and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again!!!
Our first time to Waterloo Alabama. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Tony was so helpful, even helping us out on Thanksgiving day when we forgot one of our items for dinner. We hope to be able to visit again. A++
The docks could have used a little TLC but that didn't keep us from having a great time. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning and afternoon enjoying the scenery. The owner (Tony) was great. He helped us out with airing our towable tube and let us use two of his own tubes. He also offered to run me over to Eastport to pick up and return rental boat.
This house is cozy without feeling cramped. The layout is a little odd with both bathrooms upstairs and the third room accessed via outdoor steps. This was fine for us, but may be an issue if the plan is to have small kids in that room. The views and water access made it all worth it. The stairs to the water are no joke - but you'll get your steps in! Tony is very communicative and was so kind to take us out on his boat. We enjoyed hiking around the area and also just enjoying time in the house. Overall the house is clean, however it could use a deep clean in the higher up spots (hard to do due to the layout I'm sure).
Tony treated us like family and we definitely gained a friend this weekend! This is our new lake spot and can’t wait to go back!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Needs a good cleaning and a exterminator.
Location was great. We knew it was the middle of no where going in. Owners were friendly. Communicated well. There were cobwebs everywhere in the house. The stairs and dock were poorly maintained. Lots of spiders in the house. Almost to the point it I would think a exterminator needed called. There were nest and eggs in ever corner. The first night we had to clean spiders out of the beds. I could have understtod a few cobwebs but this was excessive. They were in all the rooms but most disturbing in the bedrooms. Our friend's even had spiders on luggage when they got home. Over all we had a good time but the house needs a exterminator , good cleaning and some maintenance. I would not stay here again if we choose to go back.
This place is great! It was just the two of us and our dogs. We may come back with more people. It would be a great family vacation spot. Tony was so helpful, even giving us some hiking ideas. thanks!
My husband and I were on a trip with our son, daughter-in-law, & grandchildren ages 7 & 11. The cabin is rustic, but nice. It does have 3 floors with steps, plus steps going down the hill to the dock. Not for anyone who has difficulty with steps. But it was a good stay for us!
Took pontoon and fishing boat loved our stay but we are country folks it is an older cabin with a lot of stairs. The basement bedroom has a strong smell of stain from the renovation. The stairs to the boat docks need some upkeep as I fell through one of the boards…..would I go back yes with no hesitation
2 adults, 3 preschoolers, 3 middle schoolers. Stayed over a long holiday weekend. The cabin has gorgeous views, has everything you might need, plenty of sleeping room and areas for people to spread out. Tony was AMAZING and so supportive with area information and assistance. Will 100% rent again if we are in the area.
Mr Tony is the best host I’ve ever had. He lives next door and is super sweet and helpful. Does not bother you unless you ask him to. It’s 126 stairs to get to the water and you can rent a boat a pull right up to the dock. We swam off of Mr Tony’s dock. My only complaint was it needed a good power wash on the deck for all the cobwebs and the inside needed some dusting. Everything else was perfect. Clean bathrooms and beds. There are no restaurants or stores near but they also are only 45 min away. I suggest renting a boat or bringing a boat bc then everything is 5 min away. Everyone we came across in the town were kind and welcoming. Def somewhere to have a quiet vaca or retire there!
We stayed here for 2 nights. It was a fun trip. We enjoyed fishing off the dock and swimming in the creek. It is a long walk down stairs to the water so not great for older people but was fine for us. House was nice and has lake house wood charm and decor. It was comfortable inside for us and had internet and cable to keep kids busy during down time. There is a gas station/diner not far away that had good food and bait for fishing. The host, Tony, was very nice and helpful.
Mr.Tony was very friendly and really nice. Lake Cabin was amazing. We enjoyed our entire weekend relaxing swimming & fishing & grilling. Highly recommend 🌟
Overall my family and I really enjoyed our stay. Tony is hands down the best host. He was helpful and attentive. He even gave us a ride on his boat. Thanks for everything Tony.
Beautiful spot. Protected boat docking. Nice trail for walking the dog. Host was super helpful with information and help with a flat on my boat trailer. Highly recommend.
I have been living here full time, for the last 4 years, but I have been coming to the Waterloo area for the last 50 years. We actually live right beside this property, and can respond quickly if you need anything at all. We try to make sure all guests are completely satisfied, and hope you will return again ! Please call me if you have any questions whatsoever, prior to booking !
Why they chose this property
This property is right beside of my full time residence, and we rent it throughout the year to familes on vacation, bass fisherman competing in National tournaments, and even hunters in the fall. There is a 20,000 plus acres of Wildlife Management Area, across the road from the rental property as well. The cove ( Salt Hollow ) is well protected from the river and wave action, so any of the boats tied to the docks are safe.
