About this property
LARGE WATERFRONT HOME ON 8.5 ACRES-MOUNTAIN VIEWS & PRIVATE PICKLEBALL COURT!
Welcome to Aspen Meadow Lodge!
Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of this private 8.5 acre property that is less than two miles from downtown Sisters. Our 4 bedroom 3.5 bath 3200 square foot home can accommodate up to 2 families very comfortably. Maximum nightly occupancy is 8-10 people.
Located on Whychus Creek, you can walk out from the back deck and down the meandering path to enjoy 1500 feet of private creek frontage. If you like to fish, bring your 3 wt rod as fishing can be outstanding during the summer months (Oregon fishing license is required).
In the fall and winter seasons, we stock the house with ample amount of firewood for the main floor fireplace while the downstairs gas fireplace operates via a remote. Snow falls on a regular basis from mid December through Mid February at Aspen Meadow Lodge which makes for a magical wintertime setting.
One of our latest additions in 2022 is a private pickleball court located behind the barn and surrounded by aspens and ponderosas. If you play, make sure you bring your gear.
There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor: 2 of the bedrooms have queen size beds and a shared full bathroom. The master bedroom has a king bed, a full private bath with dual sinks, and direct outside access to the 4 person hot tub. The 4th bedroom is on the lower level, adjacent to the family room. It also has a queen size bed with a full private bath and direct outside access.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook all your meals, and a dishwasher to help make clean-up easy. The dining room can seat 8 comfortably but does expand with an extra leaf in the entry way closet for additional dinner guests.
The large back deck is perfect for entertaining company with seating for 8 (summer and fall only). Watch the deer wander through the yard, or enjoy the mountain view's from this location.
There is a large gas grill that is big enough to BBQ 2 large rack of ribs, 6 burgers and 8 bratwurst all at once (trust us, we did that!) Spare propane is in the garage in the unlikely event you run out of gas.
This year round destination offers close proximity to world class fishing on the Deschutes & Metolius Rivers, skiing at nearby Hoodoo Ski Area (25 minutes) & Mt. Bachelor (50 minutes), golf at Aspen Lakes & Black Butte golf courses, and a vast network of hiking and biking trails on Peterson Ridge. Drive up to Three Creeks Lake (25 minute drive) for a spectacular day trip, and hike up to Tam McArthur Rim for a breathtaking view!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2022
The newly installed Pickleball court is located behind the barn and surrounded by Aspen & Ponderosa trees, this is a wonderful setting for all those pickleball enthusiasts. This is a private court and is only available for our guests at Aspen Meadow Lodge. Paddles and balls are not provided at this time.
Since we are the only vacation rental in the neighborhood, the full time residents are particularly concerned about large gatherings that exceed the maximum allowable guests (8). Many of them walk by the house on a daily basis to get their mail, walk their dog, etc. and notify us if there are large gatherings right away. That said, Aspen Meadow Lodge is not available for weddings, rehearsal dinners, large family reunions or other large gatherings. Any violations of these rules are subject to a 5000.00 fine per HOA rules. We apologize for any inconvenience.

About the host
Hosted by Chris Crever

My wife and I live in Portland, OR and are avid outdoor enthusiasts. We have 2 boys who are now in their mid 20's and our 13 year old English Lab that round out our family. We try and spend our free time down in Sisters when time permits and welcome the opportunity to share Aspen Meadow Lodge with new and returning guests.
Why they chose this property
In the mid-1970s a group of 10 families purchased approximately 25 acres about 2 miles outside of downtown Sisters. Their intent was to create a very special environment, where lot size ranged between 2- 10 acres, in and around Squaw Creek, now known as Whychus Creek.
Originally built as a single-family residence on 8.5 acres surrounded by towering ponderosa pines and aspen trees, the home was used as a primary residence. By the late 80’s and early 90’s it was sold to an Australian entrepreneur who fell in love with the region. He felt the property and the house would be a great opportunity to run a bed-and-breakfast, so he converted the house to an 8 bed/6 bath B&B and promptly called it the Australian Outback.
It was a short-lived venture that lasted less than five years before the proprietor moved back to Australia, and sold it to a couple from Bend in 1996, who kept it as a B&B and changed the name to Aspen Meadow Lodge.
It remained a bed-and-breakfast for an additional 10 years and had a very loyal and consistent clientele. By 2005, one of the owners of Aspen Meadow Lodge passed away and left it to his wife to run full time. Too much to manage, she decided to sell and it was in January 2006 when we bought the property.
We returned it to a single family home and ultimately a vacation rental for all of our new and returning guests to enjoy. Past stories and memories are sure to be found in the two signs that stay with the property today.
