Luxury Home in a Resort-Like Estate

Please NOTE: The Estate Pool (shared by all our guests) will be closing on September 6, 2022 for the season.

Pine Manor Estates boasts 12 Guest Homes and the Vinson Guest House is one of the homes just added. This charming colonial style, two story home has a large front yard and a fenced in back yard with private patio. All four bedrooms and two baths are located on the second floor, including the Master Suite. This home is ideal for the family who wants to get away and experience seclusion while being close to everything!

Our Master Suite features a luxurious king bed and a sitting area for two. An ensuite bathroom with a shower and tub is just steps from your bed. The view of the lake from the bedroom windows is an added benefit.

There are three additional bedrooms on the second floor that boast queen beds with luxurious mattresses and bedding. These three bedrooms share the additional bathroom.

Guests of Pine Manor Estates find the Vinson Guest House exceedingly warm and charming. The office that looks over the back patio is a guest favorite and provides the perfect space if working remotely. A full laundry room is available so you don't have to worry about running out of fresh clothing.

Guests are free to take a stroll through the Estate or rent a golf cart to buzz around. Walkers and runners enjoy the privacy and the local-traffic only streets. The Pine Manor Estates staff is available when needed, but never intrude on guest privacy. Our goal is to make your stay relaxing, refreshing, and memorable.

When staying at the Vinson Guest House, you will want to be sure to see all that Southern Illinois and the Shawnee National Forest have to offer. Whether you want to visit one or several of our 12 local wineries or be more adventurous and try the Shawnee Zip Line through the forest, there's something for everyone while staying here.

Giant City State Park and the eclectic town of Makanda are just minutes away. Drive through the park and experience the breath-taking beauty of the Southernmost Illinois rock formations or grab a picnic table and enjoy lunch by the creek. For the more adventurous, try your hand at rock climbing or walking the paths of the rocky terrain. And don't forget to stop in the shops of Makanda where local artisans never fail to disappoint.

Some other must-see locations include Cedar Lake, Garden of the Gods, Kinkaid Lake, Burden Falls and so much more. Whether you love hiking, fishing, hunting, bicycling, horseback riding, or simply relaxing, Southernmost Illinois has something for everyone!

Great house in a nice location. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. Lots of items provided for guests is a plus! The only thing I was not impressed with was the roku absolutely hated it, I'm looking change my home provider but it definitely won't be roku.

I wish we could have stayed to enjoy the home longer. We did the wine trails and had dinner out, and unfortunately there was a power outage when we woke up, so we had to leave since we couldn't cook or make coffee.

The Gibson family has had their roots long planted in Southern Illinois. When thinking back to their favorite memories they were filled with family and the simple pleasures that live just steps off the beaten path. Their love for the area and Southern heritage that comes with it turned from a lifestyle into a dream when they acquired Pine Manor in 1998.

The Gibsons realized their desire to share the culture and luxury of the South and so opened the doors to the Pine Manor Estate. For more than twenty years, the Gibson family has furnished, remodeled, and restored Pine Manor. With the success and warmth the main house brought, the family went on to acquire several more houses, 125 acres of land, a farmhouse, and budding orchards.

This expansive, growing retreat is maintained with care and kept up in timeless elegance. The Estate has upheld the Gibson dream and has provided the perfect setting to reconnect with those around you- all while experiencing classic Southern country culture.

The Gibson Family found so many people were enjoying the original Pine Manor Mansion that they bought the Van Zandt Guest House to be able to accommodate more guests. Soon they found themselves buying more and more homes in the Pine Lake subdivision and creating a resort-like feel throughout the entire Estates.

What makes this Guest house/pension unique
There's absolutely nothing like Pine Manor Estates in Southernmost Illinois or the Tri-State Area. Guests always leave saying they "can't wait to come back". It's one of those places that you just have to "see it to believe it."
