We love it here. Very comfortable, hosts were great and the kids loved the ranch animals. Close to fishing and other outdoor activities. The cabin is very comfortable with beautiful views.
Great stay in Wyoming. The house and host were great, area is beautiful. We did EVERYTHING……Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, horseback riding, rafting, and Jackson. Highly recommend a visit to this area ❤️❤️❤️❤️
ours was the middle unit which had great views of the mountains and fields. very comfortable beds, kitchen fully stocked and a great home away from home. 45 min from grand tetons, 30 min from hot baths and 15 min from town, couldnt ask for more
My family had a great stay at Jacquie’s place. It was very peaceful and quiet. It was also very easy to find. Jacquie was a great host who was very responsive and helpful. We would recommend this place!
Spotted Moon Ranch does not disappoint. From the moment you arrive the scenery is spectacular with the majestic valley all around. The cabins are beautiful, with top notch decor and high quality bedding. Management goes above and beyond in helping you feel right at home. We will definitely be back again.

The place is fabulous! Rustic cabin on the outside is modern and comfortable inside. Beautiful horses roam outside your window and the view of the mountains in the distance is breathtaking. Peaceful and healing. We will go back for sure
Malgorzata!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there. The kids loved all the ranch animals and didn’t want to leave. Our host, McKenna, is on property and was very gracious and kind. The view from our cabin was just breathtaking. We hated to leave as we had everything we needed and then some. It was conveniently located to horseback riding, hiking, fossil digging, fishing and sightseeing. We would love to return and hope to soon.
First of all, Wyoming is huge. So anything worth seeing involves a ride. The Etna/Alpine area is ideal for visiting so many gorgeous areas, trails and parks.
This cabin could not have been more perfect for my wife and I, who stayed 9 nights in total. Very modern and clean, yet also had great charm and is in a beautiful location.
Cannot recommend this enough.
We took a bucket list trip with our horses and stayed at this beautiful cabin in Etna. I
Absolutely loved waking up every morning and watching the sun rise over the mountain from our front porch. Loved having our horses in the field close to us and having plenty of room for our friends to enjoy the space with us. Plenty of room for our horse trailer. Trailered to horse trails close and into the Grand Tetons. Enjoyed a day trip to Yellowstone. The owners were always a phone call or text away and very responsive. Jackie even met us when we got here and helped settle our horses in. Can’t wait to come back again with my grandkids in a couple years!! Thank you for a WONDERFUL vacation.

Cathy, it was such fun to meet you, your husband and equine family. I have always loved helping and watching guests enjoy their first visit to this special part of our world. Not everyone dives in and takes advantage of making the most of our mountains, and parks; but definitely no one could ever say that about you and your family and friends. It rolls my clock back to the first time my husband and I discovered this area almost 50 years ago. Happy trails and come back soon. You are always welcome!
Property was miss represented by pictures. No privacy due to workers being within 6 to 8 feet of your windows early in the morning talking on their cell phones. No air conditioning and flies were in the unit. Not adequate seating I side or on the porch for four people.
Host had an attitude when issues where raised and suggested No one should stay on a ranch and expect privacy. Not a peasant start to our long road trip.

It looks like there was a problem with understanding our listing. We make it clear that this is a working ranch with no AC. We have put a lot of effort into making our listing as transparent and comprehensive as possible as ranch life is not for everyone.
When you reached out, after your arrival, asking about AC I explained that AC is very uncommon in Wyoming and let you that the Wyoming version was to open your windows at night and shut the blinds during the day. You reported back to us that this worked great as our summer night temps are in the 40s to 50s.
As for your claim that I said that privacy cannot be expected on our ranch, that is not true. After reviewing our correspondence. you wrote that you would have preferred no work to be done anywhere on the ranch during your stay. I responded that it is unreasonable to expect all labor to be halted on a working ranch for a guest’s multi day stay. I stand by that. It is unusual to have anyone working near the guest cabins and I would have happily redirected the worker that was disturbing you at 8:30am, but we weren't informed until after checkout. Privacy and work being done on a working ranch are different things and we take privacy incredibly seriously. It is of utmost importance and we ensure it for all our guests.
We were disturbed after your checkout to find that you had climbed on the cabin furniture to remove all the LED bulbs from the can lights because you thought they were too bright, and you did not realize they were on a dimmer switch. In addition we found, you removed the deck furniture from another guest’s cabin without asking either us or the guests.
I did double check our listing and photos and the only things that I see as being a misrepresentation are that we replaced the old couch with a new one, put fresh paint on the house and barn, and added extensive landscaping.
Our most common feedback is how relaxing and peaceful it is here at the ranch. I am sorry that you did not receive the getaway you had been hoping for. I encourage you to peruse all listings thoroughly in the future so you can be sure your stay is everything you hoped for and more.
All our best,
McKenna and the entire team at SMR
A beautiful location with clean and comfortable amenities. Hosts were both proactive and responsive. It was a great vacation before the busyness of the school year began for our family.
We stayed in the 2 Bdrm cottage. The home was immaculate when we arrived and has everything you need for your stay, I even grilled steaks one night. The scenery is breathtaking and the horses and chickens just added to the ambiance. This home is situated close to Alpine, Palisades Lake, the Salt river and Star Valley ranch. We had a blast and will stay again.

About the host
Hosted by McKenna Riley
Born on a farm in South Dakota and raised in Montana, a Hilton Hotel Executive hired me for a Sales position in his hotel. Five years later, he proposed and we spent 35 years together in the hospitality and hotel business living in some of the world's most beautiful locations. We knew we would eventually settle in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and make the dream of owning our own hotel come true. We ended up owning two hotels during our years in Wyoming and after he passed away, our only daughter McKenna and I owned and operated our beautiful, highly rated boutique hotel in Jackson Hole for the past 17 years. After selling that hotel, we decided we just could not completely withdraw from the hospitality business but we wanted to also include our love of all things western, especially ranch life. Ten years ago, McKenna's fiance, Erick joined us adding his skills as a Master Electrician, but also hospitality and construction. Definitely an unbeatable team! McKenna and Erick will be your on premises hosts.
Why they chose this property
After searching many areas in the region, we had passed the Spotted Moon Ranch several times, noting that it was exactly what we were looking to purchase. Perfect location, Salt River access, Forest Service Access and over 22 acres with incredible views of the valley and mountains. The Ranch had fencing and pastures, a stocked pond, and a substantial barn and out buildings. But, although It had been up for sale, it was under contract. We were thrilled when our realtor informed us that the sale had fallen through. To make sure, we would not lose it until we could tour the property the next day, we put in an immediate offer (since the owners received another full price offer the next day, it was a wise decision). It was everything we imagined, plus we could immediately see how we could put our stamp and experience in play to make the Ranch even better. We are hoping you fall in love with it also!
