Second time booking this property and it won’t be the last time. The house is in impeccable condition. The owner does an excellent job of making sure all needs are met prior to arrival and follows up once we arrive.
My friends and I do an annual golf trip to the Cape every spring and of all the homes we've rented over the past several years, this one beats them all. The hosts are excellent, and the property is so convenient to Chatham Center. We hope we can rent Home Plate again next spring.

Thank you Jim! You and your friends are welcome back any time!
Comfortable, quiet, attractive, welcoming, well-appointed kitchen, excellent location, fun! 22 Veterans' Field Road in Chatham could not have been more perfect for our family of 5...we felt right at home while visiting for 4 nights and a nearby family wedding. Shopping on and around Main Street was an easy walk away. Our hosts were incredibly responsive to our few questions and felt more like friends than hosts we had never met. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Lovely accommodations..very comfortable. Beautifully equipped kitchen. Wish we had been here during baseball season to watch the games!
Info book left by host extremely helpful and extensive!
The property was immaculate. The owner was very accommodating and friendly. I can't say enough, the house has everything you would need. Location to Downtown Chatham is perfect. The baseball bleachers WOW. I would absolutely rent this property again

The Orrestad family was phenomenal! They are always welcome to our place in Chatham!
We had a lovely stay at this property. The location is perfect! With young children we were able to enjoy the baseball games - it was the championship! - and the playground. You also have access to the community center right nextdoor if it rains. We loved that you could walk to town shops and restaurants. We were two families with several little kids and the house felt big enough to spread out but also has nice space to all be together both in and outdoors. We sat around the gas fire pit every night. Highly recommend this property, thank you for a great stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at John’s property. The main house and guest house were spotless and the property itself was in such a convenient area! The lookout over the baseball field is awesome, we didn’t catch a game or practice, but I imagine it’s really fun to have that experience there! The house is also walking distance to downtown and only a short distance about from Chatham Bars Inn (we had a wedding there). John could not have been more amenable and was easy to get in contact with and always so friendly! Whenever we come back to Chatham we would love to stay here again!

Marjorie and her family were so easy to work with. They were in town for a wedding at Chatham Bars Inn and had a wonderful time. Marjorie and her guests left the house in immaculate condition when they left. They are welcome back any time!
Everything about our stay was amazing. We were celebrating my mother's 90th birthday and couldn't have asked for a better location. Our family couldn't stop talking about what a wonderful find this was. It was close to town and overlooking the Chatham A's stadium. The patio/grill outdoor area was perfect for dinner and visiting outside around the fire pit, a game of corn hole, or a cup of coffee in the morning. The house is so thoughtfully decorated and laid out and the owners have thought of everything. We'd definitely come back again.
We had the best stay at this beautiful home in Chatham! The pictures do not do it justice to how amazing the space is. We spent mornings watching the Cape Cod Classic baseball tournament from the life guard chairs. We had too many laughs while sitting around the fire pit. We were in perfect walking distance to town and spent too much time at the Squire. We can’t thank you enough for making our brides celebration weekend perfect! We hope to make it back to Chatham in the future!
My wife and I stayed with our two adult children , their spouses and four grandchildren, ages 7 to 16. The house was great. Lots of amenities and the patio, with a fire pit and grill was where we spent most of our time when we were at the house. It was also conveniently located near the main part of town, including walking distance to some restaurants, and the community center where the grandkids were permitted to use the indoor basketball court on our one rainy day was a two minute walk. When we had a question about something the host responded within minutes and followed up to confirm our question was fully addressed.
We booked this property with two other couples and our kids. The first night there we relaxed and took in a Chatham As game and grilled some burgers and hots on the grill. The place comes with a nice speaker on wheels which aloud us to listen to some tunes every night around the fire. The location is second to none. And not going to lie we were feeling like kids again with all the activities right there to do. One night we had our own home run derby and couple other nights we’d play basketball in the community center that is literally steps away. As far as location to town I’d say with in a 5 min walk your into the heart of town with all the shops, 5 mins the other way and you have a great market. As far as sleeping conditions the rooms were very specious and comfortable. Late at night the guys would go out to the dugout to watch some playoff hockey. It’s just a great place every way around. John the host is great as well and is always there if you have any questions. I would stay in this house again for sure.
This is a magnificent property all-the-way around. Fully updated, all the amenities you could possibly want for indoor and outdoor fun and activities - fire pit, hammock, toys and games, modern appliances, outdoor shower and grilling "plaza" on a huge patio, and comfy and open spaces & furnishings all around. Hosts (John and Jen) are very responsive and knowledgeable about the area AND the location is simply the best as it's in walking distance to really just about everything you would want to see/go to in Chatham. Also, let's not forget about the separate cottage (play room and "sleep-over" haven) and your own private bleacher seats to watch the Chatham A's play some of the best farm-league summah baseball in the country. Will be coming back on a regular basis and/or whenever we want the perfect place to enjoy the best that Cape Cod has to offer. Thanks !!
This home could not be in a better spot for families. The small bedrooms upstairs are great size for young children. Better still, the house has built in entertainment with access to a small park within eye shot and walking distance to all the local shops. Our oldest enjoyed down time in the guest cottage playing Xbox and all the included lawn games.
The home is well kept and was very clean. There is an upstairs and downstairs master which could work well for families traveling with grandparents.
Highly recommend!

My wife have lived in Amesbury, MA for over 25 years and have raised both of our children here. Our daughter, Sydney, is currently at Rollins College in Orlando, while our son, Andrew, is a rising senior at Davidson College in North Carolina.
My wife has been a high school English teacher at Amesbury HS for over twenty years, while I have been the high school athletic director for Dracut HS (96-99), Newburyport HS (1999-2013), and currently Masconomet Regional HS.
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law, both optometrists, live in Sterling (MA) and own the house with us and also have two children. Ryan recently graduated from Curry College and Megan is at High point University in North Carolina. The cousins are very close and love spending time together.
Why they chose this property
This is our family's dream place to be. We love the downtown, baseball, the people we have met, and the beauty of the Cape!
What makes this property unique
We are within walking distance to all amenities, including shops, restaurants, Chatham Bars Inn, local grocery store, Laundromat, CVS, local beaches, etc. We are also the best seat in the house to watch the Chatham Anglers baseball team, part of the best amateur baseball league in the country. While we try to supply overnight basics such as basic soaps, spices, oils, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, shampoo, laundry soap, and plastic wraps, these items do get depleted. Please plan on picking up paper towels & TP when you grocery shop. Thank you!
