We stayed for a ski trip over MLK weekend. The house had everything three families traveling with kids needed and Margaret was very responsive and communicative. Highly recommend!
We spent Memorial Day weekend here with 8 adults and 2 children under 5 and had a wonderful time despite the rainy weather. Margaret was an excellent host — very responsive throughout our stay. The home was exactly as pictured, very clean, and had plenty of space for our large group to spread out comfortably. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, which made cooking easy and enjoyable. The Hideout offers so many great amenities — we were able to enjoy the beaches and playgrounds on the first day before the rain moved in. If the weather had cooperated all weekend, the amenities would have been incredible for both the adults and kids. There is even a tiki bar at one of the beaches. I was especially looking forward to kayaking, but unfortunately the weather didn’t allow for it. Even with the rain, we enjoyed a wonderful weekend. We were able to use the firepit, which ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. We also explored the area and found things to do nearby. The Scranton Sea Aquarium was perfect for a rainy day, and we enjoyed having lunch in Scranton. We also hiked the Big Lake Trail at Lacawac Sanctuary — the trails were beautifully maintained and well-marked, and it was a great way to experience nature even with a light drizzle. Another favorite was spending an afternoon at Wallenpaupack Brewing Company, which was very kid friendly and a fun way to relax indoors. I would highly recommend this property!
Not baby proof at all....
Lots of stairs and stuff all around.
If you have small children. I would not recommend but for older kids and adults it was great!
What a great location! My family met up at the Lazy Lake as an inbetween location to ease traveling from NH and NJ. We spanned the age ranges from 2 years old to 76 and all of our needs were met and exceeded at this property. We had a party of 10 total and found more than ample space to spread out, plenty of sleeping room, and a bathroom on every level was a huge bonus. The amenities in this gated community are plentiful. North Beach is just down the hill with a small swimming area and plenty of picnic tables/grills. The Main Beach are is a short drive beyond the North Beach and hosted a pool, splashpad, snack shop, food and larger swimming beach. We spent a day at ClawsNPaws and the WallenPauPack Brewery for dinner (not to be missed). Our host was extremely responsive in communications whenever I sent an inquiry along. Lazy Lake gets 2 thumbs up from all 10 of us!
Loved this house, it looked exactly like it did in the pictures! Owner was very nice and responded immediately to questions. They made the rental process very easy. House was clean and offered plenty of cleaning supplies for us to keep it that way (especially when you have young kids:) Plenty of space and comfort for us to relax for a weekend getaway with friends and family!
We used this house for a post-covid family get together. There was plenty of room for 8 adults (3 couples, 2 singles) and 2 kids.
The house has been recently renovated and a lot of care has been put into making the house comfortable for everyone.
We used the amenity passes to take a short drive to the lake and the pool (pool was unexpectedly closed on Friday, but open on Saturday) and the kids had a great time. There is also lake access within walking distance; but it’s smaller than the main lake access.
We drove into Scranton for dinner one evening and had a fantastic meal. The kitchen was well stocked for the two other family dinners we enjoyed.
Peggy was a fantastic responsive host for the handful of questions we had.

Meghan and her family were wonderful guests. Our cleaning crew was delighted when they came to see that Meghan took such great care of our home. We would host them again in the future without a doubt. Enjoy the rest of your summer and come visit us again!
