If you have ever spent time in a Northern Michigan Cottage and have fond memories of your youth with loved ones at “the cottage” then you will fall in love with this place! The only thing missing is that old cottage aroma of dust, dirt and lingering cigarette smoke, and don’t forget the small windows that are drafty in the winter. This beautiful, well appointed clean, fresh, airy, sunlit, updated slice of heaven is not your Grandma’s Cottage.

Modern cottage with a beautiful view

Super nice and clean cottage right on the lake. Close to town with a lot to do. Rented a boat on Indian River and kayaked the sturgeon River. Had a blast!

Lovely cottage and community, convenient and quiet location

Evelyn was an incredibly responsive host, and we found her description and photos to be accurate. We enjoyed spending time at the beach or on the deck, and the home is well-stocked. This is true Lake Living, best for unplugging and unwinding.

Cute, recently upgraded interior, clean. Quiet neighbors in that nobody else was in ay of the surrounding homes. We would rent again if we ever get back to Northern Michigan.

Great location

Having a spot on the lake with a boat lift was ideal. Evelyn was very informative and attentive. Only downsides were the sketchy internet and the community fire pit. If you're planning on working during your stay make sure you have a reliable source for internet.

Perfect for our family

We had the best time on Burt lake! The views were amazing, proximity to the beach was perfect and the property itself was exactly as advertised. Evelyn was quick to respond and was able to answer any questions and/or fix all problems within her control. The neighbors are great and the surrounding area has lots of great food options and activities. Loved that it was so close to Mackinac and were able to do the island in a day trip. Only Con: slow internet, but who needs fast internet when you are on vacation! Definitely planning on going back!

I have fond memories of going to my relatives cottage and just taking in all the splendor that Northern Michigan has to offer. Growing up in a Michigan I know how important lake living is and how we all want to gather around and share some time on the lake with loved ones like I did in my youth. I have been renting properties for many years and in the last 2 years started to rent short term stays. I have been very successful in creating a place where you will feel relaxed and re energized. My goal is to find families that are adventurous enough to find someplace new to discover the joy of being together,

Why they chose this property

This property found me. I didn't realize that I was looking until I walked inside. You will find a beautiful sunlight comfortable cottage. The location is quiet and family friendly. There are many neighbors that are 2nd and even 3rd generation in their cottage. It has the feeling of yesteryear. We have all the comforts of modern life, WiFi, Smart TV, hookups for your devices to stream of the screen. Full working and stocked kitchen. Linens are provided for you, bedroom, bathroom, beach towels. Everything that you can think of (except water toys, you should bring a few) that a cottage should have like decks of cards, dominoes, bingo, yatzee, board games, outdoor toys for all ages.

What makes this property unique

If you have your own boat there is a boat slip with a lift that is available for your use. The waves come pretty strong sometimes so you would want to take advantage of the lift, it safely stores your boat when not in use. The outdoor space is very comfortable with both a large deck that is equipped with a dining table that seats 8 comfortably an additional bench and rocking chairs. The balcony above has an even more amazing view and has a comfortable cafe set to relax at while you perch above the scenery.
