Incredible property and views

The unit we rented was clean and had most of what we needed. The microwave was very dated and should be replaced for safety purposes. The bedroom door was warped and wouldn’t close. The hide-a-bed had a urine stained mattress cover and no bedding for it. The fridge ice maker was broken but ice cube trays were made available. The walls are very thin. We could hear our neighbour snoring at night. Every footstep or furniture movement from above sounded extremely loud. Garbage pick up was also loud, early morning and daily. The pool was lovely. Heated and saline. The view was perfect. We watched whales jumping and spouting in front of the unit and there was a nice little Sandy beach area that had over 30 turtles pulled up in the sand one day. Tons of geckos running around everywhere. Great spot for a family holiday.

The patio is everything

We just came back from a week stay at this unit and had a great time. As long as you have the right expectations, you can too :) The location of the complex is good: short drive to restaurants or stores, same with beaches. Although ocean front, there are rocks in the front and a tiny beach near by that we didn’t find appealing. We loved seeing the turtles that came out late afternoon and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets every evening. It was generally quiet place, but it obviously depends on the current visitors. Being on the ground level, we were fine for the first 3 nights and then a family of River dance performers moved in, and it became a nightmare. The manager on duty is very attentive. We had to call once and he responded immediately. If you are a light sleeper, you may have an issue since the bedroom windows are practically facing the parking lot and the entrance from the street to the parking. Since there is no AC, you have to decide between quiet or breeze. The furniture is older and I wish the owners would at least update their plates and glasses. There was literally no two of the same kind and the glasses were either scratched plastic or with a milky looking film on even after coming out of the dishwasher. Not a huge expense, but would definitely elevate the experience. There were plenty of pots, pans, utensils and newer appliances. The patio makes you forget everything else inside. We could have spent all day, sitting on the table, overlooking the grass, pool and ocean with amazing clouds and sunsets. If we didn’t have this view and were “stuck” in the condo, it would have definitely been a different experience.

Absolutely Beautiful

Staying here was so worth it for the view, and the landscaping is stunning! I recommend booking an upstairs unit if you can as our upstairs neighbors stomped around quite rudely. Also, try to book one of the rooms further from the parking lot if you're a light sleeper. Other than that, 10 out of 10 recommend

Great complex, great view, great pool.

Great complex, great view, great pool, unit itself is end unit. Older unit not remodeled but was clean with everything you would need. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunate communication partly my fault I missed an email verifying my identity and did not realize they canceled my reservation until the day I left. I scrambled and called directly and was told it was no longer available so out of panic booked one night at hotel. By the time I was 1/2 way to Maui property was available again so I booked for the weekend instead of entire week and ended up in Kauai for the second half. All worked out but a little communication from Vacasa would have been great. PICK UP THE PHONE.

Affordable Paradise

I've been enjoying Mahina surf for the last 20 years. It is a tropical ideal unique vacation condo experience. The condo #116 needs to be updated; but the view -off the back patio is worth it's weight in gold. Aside from the rising prices that I can no longer afford; Mahina Surf is a rare vacation jewel.

Less crowds and commotion than at large hotels. Walk to bus, beach and stores. Pool and grounds kept up and beautiful. Dated condo. Hear all the noise from second floor above.
