At Sunset Central YOU ARE SO CLOSE YOU CAN FEEL THE OCEAN! As soon as you walk into SUNSET CENTRAL you take a deep breath and start to smile. You are seeing the incredible ocean view and hearing the waves. SUNSET CENTRAL IS as nice as you hoped for. Why?

The old Cliché, "VIEW, VIEW, VIEW". We have of one of the BEST OCEAN VIEWS in Maui. You don't think about it but "NOT" having a pool or upper floor lanai railing, or anything in your ocean view, makes it as good as it gets. The view from inside the condo is great and the view from our lanai is even better. We have the perfect combination for a ROMANTIC stay. A quiet and quaint location, off the main road, stunning views, and soothing Pacific Ocean surround sound.

There is NO EQUAL to being GROUND FLOOR directly on the ocean. Carry your chair 25 feet to the small ocean sea wall and watch a 180 degree sunset at the sea wall. Does the drink you brought with you need a refill or you forgot your camera? No problem. A few steps back and you have it. Don't want to move 25 feet to the ocean edge? Just watch a sunset, sunrise, or the ocean from the very large lanai. The lanai has a ceiling fan for added comfort during the hotter months.

We have steps with access to our semi private beach for swimming and snorkeling. Please note that the stairs to the beach are less than 90' to the North. Access to the ocean is easy most of the time. Some of our photos show a large beach. During 2024 the tide changes resulted in the loss of the large beach most of the time. The last three photos show the more common size of the beach at low tide. There are times where there is no access to the beach, or only beach at low tide. To be determined is if there are any lasting affects from the small 7/30/25 tsunami from the Russia earthquake.

SUNSET CENTRAL faces directly West providing WONDERFUL SUNSET shows. During the year the sunsets move back and forth from the island of Lanai and Molokai.

The PICTURES, VIDEO, and RENTER COMMENTS tell it all. Please note that the video is over 15 years old. The photos show the numerous upgrades since then. Once selecting a pic, click on it for full size close up.

DECOR: Our goal was to make the family/dining room feel as large as possible even though it is larger than usual for Maui. Our tv/stereo and our dining table set are on one wall. The sofa sleeper and recliner are set up on the other wall. The result is a large open area in the middle of the room. We think we accomplished our goal.

SERVICE: We only have one condo to manage so we give 100% of our attention to you. Even though we can easily accommodate 4 people in our condo we only allow a maximum of 2. This is to minimize the wear and tear. This also helps us to make sure our condo is in good shape when you arrive. We have a large separate bedroom with a CA king size bed. A separate bedroom is nice compared to a studio that has that hotel type feeling. We do have a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.

IMPROVEMENTS: Carpet 01/23. Recently painted the walls and ceiling. Bathroom remodel completed changing from tub to walk in shower etc. Smart TV in Family Room. Bose Play Bar added to TV for better sound and playing your music if you want from your blue tooth phone or I pads etc. We upgraded the FAN on our LANAI. This adds hours per day and night that are comfortable on the lanai. We also vented our washer/dryer unit to outside. Major feature! Less heating inside your condo. We have a portable A/C in the bedroom. The add cost to use is $7.00 for the days/nights used. Renters should let us know if the A/C was used and how many days after their stay.

POOL: Our pool is not oceanfront. See our photo. The pool would not be the main reason for renting our condo.

-CHECK OUT time is 11:00 A.M. -Lower Awning on lanai. -Leave bedroom windows and lanai doors cracked with wood stick blocks in place.
One load of wash needs to be started. Please wash all of the bathroom towels etc. for this load.
IF YOU USE THE SOFA SLEEPER IN THE FRONT ROOM ALL OF THOSE SHEETS NEED TO BE WASHED AND DRIED IN ADDITION TO THE TOWEL LOAD.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

A Slice of Paradise

This place was perfect! Just right for a couple's getaway! We enjoyed the view, the sunsets, the whales, the turtles and some dolphins right off our lanai. So relaxing!

Piece of paradise

It is everything you want in your holiday and then some more. Waking up to beautiful, calm blue sea right by your lanai or a morning snorkel and hanging out with turtles by the private beach. Or cooking your fav tropical meal watching breakthtaking sunsets. What a week. Can’t recommend this place enough.Bonus: Coffee, bakery and food trucks at a walking distance. Bus stop right outside for a quick run to grocery store or beautiful bay at Napili.

Beautiful location right on the ocean!

We loved our stay. The location was beautiful and right on the ocean. We saw turtles daily! Very close to numerous beaches and great food (especially papi’s cinnamon rolls). ByuchThose were delicious and highly recommend.

Excellent location on Maui's west side between Kaanapali and Napili areas. Enjoyed the unexpected inclusions: a pair of beach towels, beach chairs and boogie boards! tons of beaches Loved the patio area for hanging out and watching for spouting whales..Small beach area at the end of the building and many other beaches all around in west Maui. Book it!

Amazing sunsets and turtles!

Amazing sunsets every night and access to snorkeling with turtles from the condo. It had everything we needed, grilled fresh fish every night. Not an huge issue, but kitchen gets hot while cooking and doesn't cool down quickly. Would stay again.

The location and view were unbeatable. Quiet nights, close to delicious food. Easy drive to all activities and excursions. The option to use AC in July was a lifesaver! We highly recommend this property.

Cozy, comfortable and convenient!

We had a lovely and relaxing 5 days in this comfy condo. It really is just steps from the beach, and there really were seals and turtles lounging on the beach! The lanai looks out on the waves, and we could see whales spouting in the channel between Maui and Molokai. And, there were beautiful sunsets every night! We would be happy to stay at Sunset Central next time we’re on Maui!

The photos don’t define the true beauty of this property. The patio is literally 20 foot from the ocean. Breath taking view and sunsets were beautiful. Highly recommend and if I get an opportunity to get to Maui again, this will be where I stay.

Simply perfect

Our stay Sunset Central left us speechless. Our favorite part was the view from the Lanai. We spent every morning drinking coffee and reading outside, enjoying the views. Ray was an excellent host and made our stay easy and stress free. Everything was organized, clean and we were given so many great recommendations for things to do/places to eat on the island. We will be back to Sunset Central - hopefully sooner than later!!!!

We ended a two week vacation at this location and were so thankful to end it this way. The place was absolutely amazing! You can tell the owners want you to have a great experience and we did! The listing is accurate. You are steps away from the beach and a great snorkeling spot! We didnt They had everything we needed and more. I only wish we had more time.

We (Ray and Connie) are from California. We love the outdoors and we especially love water and the sound of water from rivers, waterfalls, the ocean and even when it rains. When we like something we tend to keep coming back. Having a condo in West Maui is an example. Not a bad routine. We know you will love Maui too. Sharing our condo and hearing how much our guests like it is a benefit we did not know would come with our purchase. See for yourself by reading our renter comments.

Why they chose this property

Connie and I (Ray) visited Maui from California for the first time about 20 years ago. Every time we visited we spent some time looking at condos. The question was, Where to buy? South Maui (Kihei), or West Maui? The first requirement was to be right on the ocean. We preferred the famous West Maui side but there were very few available in our price range due to its popularity. Finally after several trips to Maui we came upon one in West Maui that was so close to the ocean and romantic that it would not let us go. The rest is history. Now we have a nice home away from home that we get to visit a couple of times a year.

What makes this property unique

Our condo is unique due to having one of the best views in Maui, our proximity to the ocean, our beach access, the small size of complex, being off the main road, and the quaint, quiet feel you get when staying there. The view right out to the ocean is almost 180 degrees with no pool or complex lounge seating in the way is unmatched. Although we have a large condo, over 600 square feet and could easily sleep 4 people, we only allow 2 as a maximum. The result is less wear and tear on the condo and greater assurance that it will be in great shape when you arrive.
