Margaret's place was fantastic for our Christmas stay. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and dining. The house feels like home, and not a rental which was an added touch at Christmas time. Thank-you for sharing your home with our family.
Lovely home, beautifully appointed, lovely patio and views. We were there with some rain but this was thee perfect retreat location. Will return again.
Great views, beautifully furnished home, new immaculate kitchen and bathrooms, lovely gardens. Margaret has everything organized and is always available. A terrific place to stay.

We loved our month here. Delightful, well maintained 2 bedroom home in the Lower Riviera adjacent to the MIssion. Quiet and private. Great neighborhood for walking. Can't wait to return.
There’s a reason why you see the photos as they are of the property. What isn’t shown is important. The garage is very steep hill to get into and is cluttered with all kinds of books and shelves and bicycles, etc. the only parking is on the street and that can be a problem. Also, the downstairs shower is very impractical, the way it is installed and we could not use it as the water would leak out of the tub onto the floor and cause a hazard. Much of the furniture outside is rusty and unusable. Despite these problems we encountered the house is very comfortable and the owner very responsive.
This is a beautiful home that has been tastefully and artfully furnished. It is ideal for a couple, and the guest room is adequate for two guests. There is a lower grass terrace that is ideal for an evening drink with a good view of Santa Barbara and the waterfront, a middle terrace off the living room that works well for lunch and dinner for 4 or fewer, and an upper terrace that seats 6-10 for meals. The kitchen is well appointed with a good supply of beautiful dinnerware. The owner was very accommodating. We suggest two areas of caution: First, the first floor guest bath has a free standing tub and shower curtain ring that can be annoying for guests who prefer showers to baths (although the upstairs master bath is beautiful and can be made available to guests, as we did. Second, the home is at the top of a steep hill and accessed by 30+ steps. We are septuagenarians and hosted three other septuagenarians as guests for short periods and had no issues accessing the house or navigating the neighborhood on long walks. If these aren’t an issue, as they were not for us, then this is an ideal property for an extended stay in the lower American Riviera near the mission .
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property. The grounds, the view, the cozy interior all contributed to a spectacular 2-week stay with family. The neighborhood is quiet and we enjoyed exploring during sunset walks. It was perfect for two couples with ample space to remotely work a portion of the week. We took every opportunity to enjoy the fireplace during cool evenings and patio during the day. The home is a short walk to the mission, 15-min walk to the courthouse and a 10-min drive to the water. The owner provided excellent communication before arrival and during the stay. We hope to return soon!
Margaret and her home were beyond expectations. Beautiful view and a home with a lot of character. Margaret was great and so helpful and accommodating. Would love to stay there again.
We had the perfect month in Santa Barbara and this home really added to our experience. The patio is beautiful and a great place for morning coffee and evening gatherings. Margaret is so helpful and responsive. We can’t wait to return.
A Magical Manifestation of Santa Barbara Grace and Charm
What a spectacular home! Perched on the Riviera, the views are amazing and the location is ideal. The abundant outdoor space flows seamlessly with the well appointed interior rooms. The charm of the decor matched with the high quality amenities gives the impression of a luxurious European boutique hotel. Margaret was a dream to work with, striking that delicate balance between offering autonomy and providing support. We feel like we have discovered our home away from home in Santa Barbara!
This property, it's location as well as any/all communications needed with the owner were just amazing. We were blown away. This is a HOME not a grungy VRBO rental. It is in a VERY quiet neighborhood so not the spot to stay for loud activity. My Family includes a 3.5 year old and an infant-- families like ours should be mindful that the house also has many beautiful but fragile items throughout (art, china etc) so be aware as my wife and I were about what is "off limits" to the kids. We hope to stay here again and can't express how stunning the property is.
This home is beautiful. The location is very central, perfect for walks to the mission or just around the neighborhood. The outdoor areas are expansive and serene. The home was thoughtfully stocked with most essentials, not to mention very clean. I’d definitely recommend staying here. We really enjoyed our stay!
Quintessentially Santa Barbara. My husband and I loved the location, and I did walks in a loop up to and around the Mission, and Natural History Museum daily. We walked into town and up to the Riviera Theatre. The house is simply lovely. Each morning we enjoyed one of the outdoor patios for breakfast and lovely evenings overlooking Santa Barbara, and it was a wonderful place to host a dinner with friend. The house is beautifully appointed and fully and thoughtfully supplied with whatever we needed and beyond. Margaret, the owner was prompt and helpful and very caring. We simply loved our stay and hope to come back.
Beautifully appointed home full of charm and coziness! Gorgeous Views to the ocean. I have never felt so much at home in a rental property, perfect base for exploring Santa Barbara and the surrounding areas. The host was very helpfull and generous with information about the house which made our stay very easy! Would definitely recommend this property!
