Cozy Cabin by the Lake - Salt Springs Resort

Pristine, upscale 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on Little Lake Kerr. Are you weary and just need some peace and quiet or are you just dying to burn some energy? Or, do you still need to work remotely but want to change up the scenery? Then this is the place for you!
Our cozy cottage is located in the heart of the Ocala National Forrest within a gated resort community. Come relax and enjoy serenity in this very special place that's loaded with old oak trees, Spanish moss and lots of wildlife. Our cottage has two really comfortable beds, a pretty décor, cable TV and strong Wi-fi! The eat-in kitchen is equipped for cooking and has plenty of seating. Like to read, have a glass of wine and watch the sunset? Perfect as we have a screened porch for you. Like cooking on the grill? Perfect - we've got a grill and picnic table for you. The Sandy shoreline is great for swimming, fishing or just hanging out on a pool float. If you've got a boat, bring it - boat launch available! We even have a pool table and and ping-pong inside the lodge across the street.
If you've never been to the Ocala National Forrest, you have to come! This area is fantastic for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts as there are tons of trails and natural springs! Activities include hiking, motorbiking/four-wheeling, boating, kayaking, biking and an outdoor gun range. Come enjoy the beauty of the forest and swim in the crystal waters of many nearby National Spring Parks. Resort amenities include pickle ball, basketball and tennis courts, heated outdoor pool, and shuffleboard. Walking distance to two restaurants and a bar! (ie a pizza place and a downhome cooking place!) Dollar General and small grocery store nearby!

Nice lake vacation

The cabin is nice and cozy with AC and internet. Our host Mary is very nice and accommodating. We have been going to Elite of Salt Springs for about 20 years and always enjoy relaxing at the resort. It’s a nice easygoing vacation.

Weekend Getaway

What a great getaway for the family!! I would highly recommend booking this cottage!!Plenty of room for us and our family, loved cooking on the gas stove and grill, relaxing on the porch and at the picnic table, walking around the resort was peaceful and quiet!!We will book this cottage again!!

Awesome Holiday

The cottage has a front porch with four chairs out front plenty of space a barbecue grill a picnic table outside the screen in area the inside has a full kitchen dining area living room two bedrooms and a full bathroom this place is exceptionally clean and decorated nicely

Cousin getaway

Great vacation stay!

We had a great time at this cottage. The place was very clean and perfectly located in the resort very close to the pool and lake. Our host was very accessible and responded promptly to any of our needs. We will definitely be back.

Great weekend getaway

Lakes, springs and forests - all of the outdoors boxes are ticked and the location within the Salt Springs Resort is an easy stroll to Little Lake Kerr. We traveled with two young children and everyone had a great time. We'll be back!

Cozy cabin

My family had a great stay at this cozy cabin. Very clean, well maintained, and the perfect spot near the water. We loved that the owner had left travel sized bathroom supplies and the cabin was stocked with everything needed for a good stay. Thanks again. I would highly recommended.

Mary was wonderful to work with. The place was absolutely beautiful and we so enjoyed sitting on the screened in deck looking out over the water. She answered any questions that came up with professionalism and a little humor thrown in. We would def be staying there again if we are down that way. If you want tranquility and a place to just relax and unwind, this is the place.

Tidy cabin in a bustling community

The cabin was well kept with all amenities as promised. Check in and check out processes were easy. Property manager was prompt and easy to work with. The resort community is busy. The cabins, rvs, and mobile homes are densely packed, so this location isn’t great for a quiet getaway. (There was a loud concert until 11pm the Saturday night we were there.) At the same time, the resort offers plenty of activities (a pool, shuffle board, pickle ball), so this location may be perfect for those looking for fun interactions with others.

Terrific Cottage in a Beautiful Setting

Cottage was very clean and well kept. Very tastefully decorated. As the listing suggests, the wifi was great, and there was cable for when you want to be inside. Being outside is a treat, though, as the entire grounds of the community are full of old live oak trees decorated in spanish moss - truly beautiful. The outdoor community pool was heated (maybe 78-ish degrees?). Technically, the community hot tub was heated as well, but, if I had to guess, the temp was only about 95 or less, and we could see no way to adjust that. The pool could have used a surface skimming, but, it wasn't bad and the area around the pool was well maintained. That being said, the clubhouse was not in very good shape. The pool tables were all in pretty rough shape and covered in debris (they are in an outdoor "screened" area but the screening is not intact). Ping pong table might have been usable, but we didn't try it (coin operated ping pong ball receptacle - but, we did discover that the cottage had a ping pong ball in a drawer). There was an air hockey table, but it looked like it hadn't been operable for quite some time. The clubhouse itself was clean enough, but pretty outdated. There were some tables where you probably could have played cards or a game or something. We did play shuffleboard (you'll find the pucks and sticks in the clubhouse up by the bar - we had to ask a seasonal resident where we might find them). The shuffleboard court wasn't great, but wasn't bad. It was playable (at least the one we were on - there were three, and I didn't pay attention to the other two). The pickball courts (which also serve as the basketball courts) seemed to be in decent shape, and there were people playing on them while we were there (pickleball nets can be moved off to the side if/when someone wants to play basketball - I don't know where you get a basketball, though). Honestly, all in all we had a great stay. Even though the clubhouse facilities could certainly use some upkeep (outside of the pool area, which appeared to be pretty well maintained), the cottage was terrific, the lake and the trees on the property are beautiful, and it's a nice, quiet little community that's in a great location as a "home base" to go see many of the local springs.

Lake time

The house two bedroom kitchen porch was amazing. Amenities were excellent as described. Location close to everything. Excellent time with friends and family. Leek side events were a blast. Unfortunately, the property is for sale. Hope it doesn’t sell anytime soon because I wanna come back to Stay again ha ha.

Secluded Paradise

I was working out of town in Palatka for a month and needed a place to stay other than a hotel. I was lucky enough to find this cottage in Salt Springs RV Resort. From start to finish my host, Mary, made my stay exceptional. She consistently checked in and made sure everything was going well. Her cottage was very clean and made me feel right at home. If I ever come back to the area for work I will definitely be looking to stay here again. Highly recommend staying in her cottage if you ever find yourself in the area.
