Good, but needs work

This property is really beautiful, and the location is great. The layout worked really well so that everyone had plenty of space, and the screen porch areas were really awesome for hanging out. The lake access worked really well for our paddle boards and it was a beautiful view. There were also a kayak a canoe and a small boat to use, but we didn’t take advantage of that. The fire pit outside was also great for evening. The cabin also has a lot of character. The master suite on the 1st floor is technically separate from the rest of the cabin. And as others have stated the shower upstairs apparently leaks, so we didn’t even use that shower out of fear of making a mess. The cabin also has a prominent musty smell. There were a number of things in the cabin that could be maintained better. The kitchen is a bit small if you have a larger group and plan to cook meals. There was a mish mash of old pots and pans to use, but they're not great, and certain utensils were lacking. The location is really convenient and the outdoor is really nice, but for the price, which for us was almost $600 a night with taxes and fees, we expected better and nicer. The owner was also not responsive. I messaged through the VRBO app when we arrived and needed the Wi-Fi information and I got no response. Luckily we figured that out by trying the three passwords scribbled on the modem. There were no instructions sent ahead of time and there was no booklet inside the cabin to explain the house rules.
